My brother loved Restless Heart, and he never saw them live, so I'm sure he wouldn't like you saying that you were bummed about having to see them. ;) "I went on to see Hank Jr. close to ten times"......Another reason to get to Nashville. #jealous. They werent terrible by any means . Their latest single was "Bluest Eyes In Texas" which I loved at the time. I still would have much rather heard Rodney do "I Couldnt Leave You If I Tried" though. Ha! Nashville is cool but I rarely go to the big concerts anymore though as I just cant afford the beer. If you ever make it, check out some of the cool out of the way songwriting bars though like the Bluebird Cafe. Thats where I would say Nashville shines. I must say, my eyebrow was raised when I saw that a poster named "Uncle Lumpy" quoted me. :) Your new name made me laugh though, so I think it's a winner. ;)

First was Reba and Kelly Clarkson in 2008. Reba and George Strait (with Lee Ann Womack) in 2010. Carrie in 2012, Kenny in 2013, Jason Aldean in 2014. And last year Chris Young and Luke Bryan both in July. Then the next one is Carrie again.

My first country concert was actually last year and was such an amazing experience! It was a charity concert called Hearts Unsung during my Nashville trip (could it had been in a better place!?). It featured Lady Antebellum, Hunter Hayes, Trace Atkins, Martina, Maddie & Tae, Jewel, ... And took place at the gorgeous Nashville Symphony! A night to remember! Could not have asked for a better first experience!

Kacey Musgraves (2014) - It was the first I could actually afford to pay for the flights and stuff and it was a wonderful night. I'm still waiting for a lot of country artists to decide they would like to come to Europe, but I'm also saving for a trip to Nashville someday :)
(oh I forgot I was supposed to go see TBP back in 2012 I think, but after I bought tickets, took care of the flights and accommodation they cancelled the European Tour)

I guess I never responded to this either when it was first posted. My first country concert was Reba in the summer of 1993. It was amazing. I later saw her Singer's Diary tour, and then a show in Vegas and twice with Kelly Clarkson. I got to meet her backstage at the Vegas show which was awesome.
I've also gone to concerts of Lacy J Dalton, Martina McBride, Little Big Town, Trisha Yearwood, Darius Rucker, Wynonna and Jo Dee.

Girls Next Door......my Dad played in a band at a bar called Alabama Show Palace and they had lots of concerts. I was very young and Dad snuck me in. I remember Slow Boat To China very clearly. Since then I have been to probably over 200 shows. Nothing better to me than a concert. Next show is in April....Mumford and Sons.

My first country concert was when I was three. My parents surprised me with Shania tickets. I don't remember much from the "Come On Over" tour, given my age - but I am do remember the "Up!" tour quite well.

The first country concert I went to (and first concert period) was Vince Gill and Mary Chapin Carpenter in Columbus Ga. This was probably in about 1993 when I was in high school. MCC was really good, much better than I was expecting. I almost fell asleep during Vince's set. I know he is a great singer and great guitar player, but this was during the "I Still Believe in You" era and it was a snooze-fest. Maybe I would appreciate it more now, but I don't know.
Second country concert was the Fruit of the Loom Countryfest at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Pam Tillis, Charlie Daniels, Patty Loveless, Hank Williams Jr, Alan Jackson, and Alabama. It was a free concert. Mention Hank Jr and free concert in the same sentence and you get some interesting people to come out of the woods! Anyway, Alan was on his Greatest Hits tour and he was just outstanding. Alabama was really good too. I have seen many country concerts since, but that is definitely the one that got me hooked.

Loretta Lynn in Branson, Missouri. Can't remember what year it was, but I was just a kid. I was old enough to remember it though.

I decided to re-name the thread title, to reflect posting any of your concert memories in general...along with your first Country concert. :)
