I only skimmed through it but upon first listen, it sounds like the first M5 album I will not be purchasing. I'm fine with them going Pop but I like when they skew a bit more edgier and to the ROCK side of the atmosphere; even with all the live instruments, it sounds like a too polished and overproduced blur.

Just listened to "Sugar" because that one sounded interesting, and I like it! I've liked everything I have heard so far. I'll probably listen to the iTunes First Play tonight.

That Gwen song is horrible. Really disappointed.

After a quick listen, I'm kind of disappointed, which is upsetting because I love M5. Besides the songs that were already released, I liked Sugar & Coming Back For You. Everything else is just kind of blah.

Mediocre album. Gwen Stefani duet sucks and the first three songs are the best.

The collaboration with Gwen Stefani is incredibly disappointing.

The collaboration with Gwen Stefani is incredibly disappointing. I know, right? With TV platform, I imagined something far more energetic for them to perform on stage. Yawn. What were they thinking?

Yeah, I was definitely thinking it would be something at least single worthy to promote on The Voice later this season.

Well they're obviously trying to have a sort of Just Give Me A Reason kind of moment, so easy to see the motive, but it falls flat.
The album is fantastic though.

I just finished listening and I liked it a lot. Really my only problem is that a lot of the songs sound very similar to "Animals" and "It Was Always You". "In Your Pocket" is awful though, how in the world did that make it in the album? "Feelings" reminds me of "Doin' Dirt" which was one of my favorites from the last album. The duet was underwhelming. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't anything special.
Single predictions: "Animals", "It Was Always You"; "Sugar", "Coming Back For You", and "Feelings" are good options.

Just finished listening to the standard version of the album. I like it; it's a pretty cohesive effort. I think it's on par with Overexposed for me. They've been transitioning to more of a pure pop sound for a while now so I don't think it should come as much of a surprise.
"Animal" will be be the breakout hit of this album, for sure. The other singles are harder to call. Interesting that people aren't feeling the Gwen duet. It was one of the standouts for me. Other favorites include "Maps", "Animals", "It Was Always You", "In Your Pocket", and "Feelings".

So...after skimming all the way through New Love on the ITUNES first listen (I ran out of skips, LOL), this is probably my favorite Maroon 5 album. I am actually in the minority who think they are better completely pop than whatever you call Songs About Jane. As much as I love that album, with the exception of Hands All Over, I have loved every subsequent album much more. Very excited to get this on Tuesday and to hear it in full.

I don't get the Gwen duet shade going on. As a whole, the song goes a little too far melodically, but there are some really great moments courtesy of Sia's pen.

I haven't listened to the album yet via YouTube, but I do love "It Was Always You" and "Animals." I've never liked "Maps" and it certainly won't be growing on me, but I'm very interested to hear what the rest of the album is like.

Enjoying The Today Show concert. I saw them live when they opened up for John Mayer in 2004. Buying this record.

It sounds slightly different than when I heard in the studio, but I still think it's glorious.

"Maps" definitely grew on me although I never completely disliked it anyhow. The first half of the album had a few possible singles. "Sugar" seemed really catchy to me.

I like the first three songs, Sex and Candy and Lost Stars. The rest is boring. My favorites: It Was Always You and Sex and Candy.

I love the R&B vibe of Unkiss Me. More of that would've satisfied me with this album.

What are first week projections/predictions like for this? I wouldn't be surprised at lower 100s for this since almost everything has disappointed this year and Maps isn't half the hit that "Payphone" was.

I'm surprised by how much I enjoy this one. I'll be listening to this as much as their other releases. The duet with Gwen disappoints me a bit lyrically. Their vocals sound nice together but it's lacking overall. It Was Always You is still my jam. Sugar and Unkiss Me are a close second.
If I'm disappointed about anything it's the price of the deluxe edition. I really wanted to purchase physical but if I do that it will be the regular edition. Otherwise I might just grab the iTunes or Amazon digital version.

With the exception of Figure It Out and Until You're Over Me (which is one of their best uptempos)and Dry Your Eyes (how one of their best songs missed the standard edition is REALLY beyond my comprehension capability), I don't think their deluxe editions are worth shelling out the cash. After picking this up at Best Buy, it appears that Adam's flirtation with bleach was just for the booklet? LOL.

I'm listening to clips of the album on iTunes now and it sounds really good. Will probably listen in full later on tonight.

The deluxe version for me is not really worth it. "Shoot Love" is alright, but not good enough to buy, while the other two I don't like.
