"Ferrari" is a hard pass. Drive that car off a cliff please.
"2 Souls On Fire" is catchier, but a meh, I can't see this material getting her anywhere. She should have just scheduled as much promo as possible this month and dropped the album in a couple of weeks (while she has the biggest hit she's probably ever going to have).

I actually REALLY like the 2 new songs and the album cover I'm now more hyped since these 2 songs actually are in lane with what I wanted

I haven’t heard 2SOF but I’m surprised I don’t hate Ferrari.

Smart move that she included IGY. At least she's secured a gold certification with that and MTB.

Bebe Rexha's New Song 'I'm a Mess' Adding '90s Hit 'Bitch' Songwriters to Credits NewsLegal and Management By Colin Stutz | June 15, 2018 9:39 PM EDT
Bebe Rexha debuted a new song called "I'm a Mess" from her forthcoming Expectations on Friday (June 15) and it seems the track owes some inspiration to a classic '90s pop-rock single--. Songwriter Shelly Peiken, who co-wrote the song "Bitch" with performer Meredith Brooks, shared via Instagram on Friday -- which coincidentally was her birthday -- that "I'm a Mess" writers Justin Trantner, Jussifer and Devon Corey decided to give her co-writing credit on the track, feeling that it interpolated the hook of "Bitch."
The similarities are apparent but not totally overwhelming. Whereas "Bitch" goes, "I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint," in a similar phrasing "I'm a Mess" goes, "I'm a mess, I'm a loser, I'm a hater, I'm a user, I'm a mess for your love it ain't you."
Still apparently Trantner and his co-writers decided to make the connection official and cheerily so, as the hitmaker commented on Peiken's post, "Yippeeeeeee!!! Xoxoxoxoxo"

Ghost of Blurred Lines Past is gonna have this industry f**ked up for years to come. I listened to I'm a Mess several times yesterday and not once did I'm a Bitch cross my mind. Even now, I find it a stretch. Like damn, you can get sued for phrasing now??? Sigh.

The album is pretty good as a whole
I just refuse to accept Meant To Be, I hate that Also the promo singles were my least favorites on the album tbh except I'm A Mess The whole string of songs from Shining Star to Pillow is really strong
IGY still is my top favorite

I Got You Self Control [would be a f**king #1 as Rihanna's lead single] Don't Get Any Closer [the production is gold] Steady [would love this to be a single at some point] Mine Shining Star Pillow
I think this is a fairly strong debut album. She made it all the more impressive given the fact that so many her earlier strong materials are excluded here (i.e. "(Not) The One", "Getaway Drug", "Small Doses", "Atmosphere", "Comfortable" and pretty much everything from I Don't Wanna Grow Up). I'm simply shocked by how strong all the previously unreleased materials are. Her team is so f**king messed up for pre-releasing the three most non-event songs.
On my way to get my copy. Go Bebe!

Just finished my first listen. I like it! Very solid debut. I can definitely hear the 90’s influence sprinkled through out the album. Some songs at times reminded me of Ace of Base 😍.

After multiple listens I can't get over how out of place I Got You feels It just doesn't fit on the album at all due to its vibe being so different It does transition great into Self Control but it's still so unnecessary (great song though)

I've been a huge fan of hers since I Can't Stop Drinking About You, but this album is just bad. It's like she used up all her hits on All Your Fault Pt 1, that EP would've been a fire first half of an album.
I Got You, I'm A Mess, Ferrari and Knees are all I'm here for. Wtf was that intro to Shining Star? I thought I had a youtube video playing in the background. And the way she pronounces mine in Mine is possibly the most annoying thing I've ever heard in my life.

WTF the intro to "Shining Star" is great! It adds to the moody atmosphere of the album.

Knees is the clear standout! Hope they pull I’m A Mess and switch to it. Mess doesn’t seem to be connecting.

Projected to debut at #20 with 20-23k SPS (7-8k sales). But she had a hit single off it already so the album will be gold, even though it’s openkng to 20-23k SPS? Someone really, really needs to find a better/more accurate algorithm to measure the success of ALBUMS in an age where they don’t physically sell.

Knees is the clear standout! Hope they pull I’m A Mess and switch to it. Mess doesn’t seem to be connecting. It's the number one added song on pop. Also added to major playlists on streaming platforms. I think it would do decent at the very least.

Knees and Ferrari serve the country-tinged pop coolness that Meant To Be could only dream of achieving. I will always be somewhat pressed that MTB is going to go down as Bebe's biggest hit.
Shining Star is actually my favorite track, though. Not sure I'd peg it as single-worthy but I just love its aura.
Bebe just needs to stop with the 'obvious' pop bait attempts. IGY and IAM aren't bad - IGY is pretty cute in fact - but when she has stuff like Ferrari, Knees, Mine, Don't Get Any Closer, Sad, 2 Souls On Fire, it's obvious that straight-on pop doesn't really represent what she's about and frankly is kind of beneath her. More importantly, it isn't resonating, so why keep trying that angle? Every single exec that has any say in single choice needs to be fired for not recognizing Knees as the clear follow-up to MTB.
The projections don't surprise me at all. One smash single is usually not enough to give a pop female good sales, and MTB peaked weeks ago so there aren't as many streams to put toward the opening week.

Why Knees is sitting at #54 on US iTunes? Even I'm a Mess is charting lover.

I keep meaning to check this chick out, but get distracted and she isn't particularly high on my priority list, especially with all the quality albums that are out now (and the ones that came out last year that still demand my attention, tbh) but I will definitely give it a curiosity listen. So far, all I have liked from her is her chorus on Me, Myself, and I though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I also thought she sounded pretty good when she sang with FGL on the last big award show (Billboard, maybe?)

I didn't expect to enjoy the album as much as I did because I thought it'd be super generic and they would just put it out there to be done with it. Eventhough it is generic in parts, her songwriting is so good that is enough to carry the whole project. 2 Souls On Fire was instant to me and Quavo, surprisingly, didn't ruin it but my absolute fave is Shining Star. What a beautiful song. The melodies are great and the 3rd person perspective is very interesting and refreshing.

I actually surprisingly like some of the songs off the album, since I didn't like any of the input she released before it (besides some songs off of All Your Fault Pt. 1)
I really like I Got You, Self Control, Sad, Mine, Grace, Pillow And I the one's that are okay to me are I'm A Mess, Shining Star, Don't Get Any Closer
I think the thing holding me back on liking her a lot more than I'd like to is the amount of autotune on her voice on certain songs (like Mine for example, the only thing I dislike about it) and all the country/guitar/latin influenced songs. I'm kinda a pop freak.
Overall though, I liked more songs than I thought I would. I'd say a 6.5/10 for me.
