It's an average album. Not bad to listen to but I wouldn't seek it out. She's definitely been mismanaged and could be at least a mid-level popstar if they did her right. I don't think anything on this album is going to connect beyond whats already been released. Self Control is my favorite but I don't see it doing well at radio

She's been starting to post lyric videos for all songs on Youtube (there's still some missing like obvious single 'Knees') Maybe she tries to find out that way what to release next?

Lyric videos are cheap to produce and can juice a few streams out of a faltering project

This album proved that she's more of a singles artist than an album artist. Sort of like Pitbull and Flo Rida.

She’s drawn the ire of the gay twitter mafia for saying some Drag Race contestants were standoffish when she approached them at an event. You had a good run, Bleta.

Sorry but I wouldn't have recognized her with or without makeup on. She doesn't have that recognizable of a face and let's be honest, she's not famous to a point where EVERYONE would recognize her, not even in gay clubs. It was embarrassing enough she felt that to begin with, she had to post it on twitter, she did it to herself.
In 2018 these artists expect people to treat them like superstars after 10 minutes of fame, in the 90s you'd have to get to 10 times of what Bebe Rexha have achieved to feel this entitled.

And then she followed up with, "The funny thing is they actually presented my performance. But ladies it doesn’t take much to be nice. Eureka was the only one to hug me.”
I don't believe Bebe's gripe was with them not recognizing her, it was just with what she thought was rude behavior. She was trying to use the fact that they were performing her song (i.e. probably would have been nicer to her if they'd known who she was) to underscore the point that you should be polite to people no matter who you think someone is (or isn't). I'm pretty sure Bebe is used to not being recognized, but she has problems with people paying her complete dust just b/c they think she's a nobody and she seems rather sensitive about it. The tweet was not worded well enough to convey this and came off as 'do you know who I am?' instead.
She was on WWHL last week and she said one of her worst encounters with another celebrity was when she went to speak to someone while in hair and makeup somewhere and the celeb completely ignored her attempt to have a conversation. Bebe herself seems like a sort of awkward individual so that might have compounded things, but still, no reason to act like she wasn't even there. I'm thinking a similar thing happened with the Drag Race contestants - she went up to them to say hello and they blew her off - and now I'm wondering if it was in fact the same situation. If so, then she wasn't in the wrong for how she felt about it. It's just that Twitter wasn't the place for that. Don't go blasting these girls on social media for something that you could have just as easily called them out on in person or brushed off and kept it moving.

Don't go blasting these girls on social media for something that you could have just as easily called them out on in person or brushed off and kept it moving. Literally not a word of this post excuses the stupidity that is her tweet. 1. No one is obligated to get out of their way to be extra warm and fuzzy to you, just because that person didn't give you a hug does NOT mean she was "rude" to you. 2. She obviously expected to be embraced and worshiped because she was in a gay club, and when she didn't get it, she lashed out on twitter. That is ENTIRELY her fault, she went into the situation with an expectation (not to plug her album) which no one is responsible for. 3. Her follow-up tweet was trying to say that this wasn't about being recognized when clearly it was according to the original tweet. This whole rant was just about her ego not getting stroked, nothing else.

R.K. If she actually behaved the way you think and was waiting for someone to fawn over her, then yeah that's out of line on Bebe's part. But to me, it seems that SHE went over to the girls to speak first (she wasn't waiting for them to come over and speak to her) and they looked at her like she was bothering them. If I say hi to someone I expect a hi back, so if you think that's "going out of your way" we'll have to agree to disagree b/c IMO it doesn't take more than a split second to act like you have some manners and return a quick hello, even if you think I'm just a PA or a random fan running up on you. I will concede that I haven't seen anyone's response other than Aquaria's (I think it was Aquaria) where she said she would never be intentionally rude, so I don't know if anyone has detailed exactly what happened. Just based on the info I have to work with, nothing about the situation is entirely clear. I agree she shouldn't have taken it to Twitter regardless, but I already acknowledged that in my other post. Y'all don't laugh at me but I just looked up her Wiki b/c I was wondering where she was from (b/c expecting people to speak when spoken to is such a southern thing, but she's from Staten Island so nvmd) and I just saw this girl is a Virgo omg the poor thing. No wonder she's being ripped apart right now. Everyone thinks we're entitled bitches when we're just awkward af lol.

A big year for baby girl! A crossover monster hit, a flawless music video ("I'm a Mess"), and a satisfying debut era.

So...after “I’m A Mess” under performed and limped to #35 on the Hot 100, after a #2 hit, will there be no more singles from ‘Expectations?” Technically, wasn’t “I’m A Mess” the true first single from it, as the previous singles on her LP were from EPs? I just don’t get what the label is doing here. She still has not had a hit solo single and it has been years.

"I'm A Mess" is the first and will be the only single released from her debut, as least that's what the plan seems like. They want her to keep releasing new music because album cycle has become shorter in the streaming era. 2. "I'm A Mess" is a hit solo single. It reached top 10 on Pop radio. It couldn't reach a higher peak but Hot 100 is not like what it used to be anymore.

I wonder how well Knees would’ve done. I think "Knees" would be at least a Top 20 hit if released and promoted properly (i.e. a country remix). It was the most popular track on iTunes when the album dropped. The lyric video has over 40 million plays now. I'll never get over the fact that they wasted this hit

A country remix would’ve taken me out.
