Wow, I am glad there are others on here that love both of those songs. Population Me is very likely my favorite Dwight Yoakum album ever and it has some outstanding tracks. "The Back of Your Hand" is just a masterpiece. edit: don't want to double post, so going to add only a few from myself as this list could go on and on and on... I immediately think of George's "As Far As It Goes." Seriously, such a huge misstep by the team at MCA. In fact, most of the single choices from his great Honkytonkville album weren't handled correctly. What should be a classic album has turned into an underrated album. "Sing Me Home" by Tim McGraw A tone of Gary Allan tunes, such as "Tough Goodbye," "Good As New," "We Touched the Sun," and "Trying To Matter." I happen to think a lot of his single choices have been mishandled by MCA >:(

Andy, "Godspeed (Sweet Dreams)" was released as a single, but failed to chart. Actually, it reached #48 on the charts. Their next single, "Top of the World," was the one that didn't chart.

That album was far too good for them to waste a single slot on "Down In Mississippi (Up To No Good)". *I know John released "I Pray For You" when he had his solo career going but it still should have been released when Big & Rich were still on everyone's radar. I love "Never Mind Me", but it was a horrible choice for a single. *No idea why "Fool Around" wasn't a single. "Tell Me" was good but "Ocean" had zeroooo shot at working at radio. DreamWorks going under definitely contributed to their demise though.

Billy Currington - Swimmin' in Sunshine Yes, absolutely to Billy Currington "Swimmin' in Sunshine"! This was an incredible song that for the life of me I can't understand why his record label didn't release.

I'm going to add Craig Morgan's "We'll Come Back Around" to this list. It's off his current "The Journey" cd and I'm not sure if anything else is going to get released from it based on the slow climb of "Wake Up Loving You." Seriously, this is an amazing song. I'm obsessed with it.

Carrie Underwood- "We're Young And Beautiful".
I was hurt listening to this today, and man, what a great uptempo song. Great vocals and such fun lyrics.
Jason Aldean- "Black Tears"
Such a haunting song. <3

Brooks And Dunn's Silver And Gold was a beautifully written song perfect for country radio when the album was released.
Same thing for Rascal Flatts' Long Slow Beautiful Dance. But it got a lot of airplay here in the Twin Cities.

"Livin Part of Life", "These Boots", "Without You Here", "Longer Gone", "Lotta Boot Left To Fill", "Hungover and Hardup"- Eric Church
"Better Believer", "I Can't Forget Her", "Whiskey Tears", "Cab of My Truck", "The Heaven I'm Headed To", "Distant Shore" - Dierks Bentley
"I Believe In Ghosts", "Asphalt Cowboy", "Not Every Man Lives", "I Break Everything I Touch", "On My Highway", "Black Tears"- Jason Aldean
"Bourbon Borderline", "A Showman's Life", "No Judgement Day", "I'm Doin' My Best", "Guys Like Me", "Runaway" - Gary Allan
I think a lot of this is a case where if only these artists were bigger at the time these songs were introduced/ released on albums then more than likely would've seen the light of day at radio.
