Back to the Thomas Rhett I know and love! This song is fricking amazing!!! What a unique and funky groove. I was worried it would never see the light of day. So happy! It's a smash hit!

I was almost on board until that laughably hokey chorus kicked in. I give him credit for at least changing up the sound (even if the sound bares no semblance of country whatsoever, at least it's not hip hop infused), but good grief not another make love on the tailgate song.

Admittedly , I haven't listened to this yet , but after reading the single lyric on the You Tube link , I literally rolled my eyes as apparently we have another "lets get laid in my pick up truck" song. I was so hoping somebody would put out another song on this subject cause it hasn't been covered nearly enough. On a less sarcastic side note , I don't really understand Nashville's obsession with truck sex. I've tried it and its pretty over rated....

This is the only Thomas Rhett song that I actually like, and I think it's because of the beat, I love the grooviness! Lyrics are cliche but not offensive. Its got a very similar storyline to It Goes Like This, but this song is far superior IMO.

Nashville's truck sex obsession! That is the most true statement I've read in awhile! It's ironic cause Thomas' daddy Rhett Atkins wrote and had a hit with one of the best truck songs of the 90s "That Ain't My Truck." I guess in that song it is assumed the guy in the truck is in the girlfriend's house having sex, but at least it's a truck sex song that ends up in a house!

"The love boat" called..it wants its theme song back. Mus1cr0w My thoughts exactly! One minute in, and I was transported back to AC radio in my younger years-the sound is very 70's 'night clubbish' or something. At least the music sounds different and not rappish, although it doesn't sound country to me and the lyrics are oh so boring. Can't the man who wrote Beer With Jesus come up with some decent lyrics?

This. I feel like the music is a really weird contrast to his vocals. Like his vocals are country but the music is so utterly 70s era disco weirdness that it's just a huge disconnect. I am not feeling the love for this song.

Trucks, back roads, tailgates...it's been a while since we've heard such an original song on the radio Next, please.

Has anyone heard when this song goes for adds? I know they're waiting a while because "Get Me Some of That" is still getting heavy recurrent play, but I at least thought we would have gotten an adds date by now.

Not a big Thomas Rhett fan, but this is a great song. It's the best he's released so far IMO. I did like "It Goes Like This" too and he's had one or two other songs that were okay, but this is the first one I've truly loved. I hope this gets as much airplay as "Give Me Some of That" has been getting, because I think this is a much better song that showcases his talent more than the majority of what he's released so far. The lyrics don't bother me at all really because I like the actual song. My problem with bro-country lyrics usually stems from the actual song being horrific as well. If I like a song, I won't be as bothered by underwhelming or typical lyrics.

Before I comment on this song let give a brief snippet of info about my musical influences. I grew up listening to country music and its what I have always listened to at home. But I was in high school during the disco era of the late 70's early 80's. None of my high school friends listened to country so when I was out them we would get down and boogie. I've tried to forget that era as much as possible (and only go back to reminisce from time to time when I pull out my vinyl copy of the soundtrack to Saturday Night Live and put it on the turntable).
This song sounds like someone wrote a country song and is performed by a country singer to a disco soundtrack. This is only a bit less cringe-worthy for me than the rap/hip hop infused country that I dearly love to complain about. I can't even start to listen to the lyrics because the music is giving my flashbacks to shiny polyester shirts and disco balls.
Pretty sure this will be a station changer for me (but I'll eat my words if it grows on me ;) ).

I'm mostly tired of the "bro-country", but it honestly doesn't bother me from Thomas Rhett. Many have commented that guys like Luke Bryan are far too old to be singing this kind of music, but Rhett's young and it just feels like he's singing about things people in that age group go through. Of course, the "lay this hot mama down in the bed of my truck as I'm on my 5th beer" storyline has run it's course, but for some reason this song and "Get Me Some of That" haven't bothered me and have been songs I've enjoyed, whereas "That's My Kind of Night" makes me cringe...
This song also has that funky kinda sound to it that is different from anything else on radio, so at least is sounds different musically.

"Sorry for Partyin'" has been getting a lot of plays. If the Country Airplay was Top 70, then the aforementioned song would be #62. I am unsure what they are doing with "Make Me Wanna". Dumb as it may be, SFP is funny and catchy beyond belief, I doubt it'd do well on radio if released, but I'm betting it's going over very well at concerts. Though if it's getting unsolicited airplay, I'm probably very wrong on whether it'd work on radio.

I think that it would always get promoted. It's just that Valory wanted to wait a little longer than normal due to the recurrent play of "Get Me Some Of That" and the massive amount of competition there was in June and July. Plus it's after the debuts for Jason and Garth. Makes a ton of sense to wait till the first week of August as they are attempting to set this song up to succeed to the best of their ability.

This is what Bro-Country would sound like in the 70's Disco era! Probably my least favorite song I've heard of his yet. Do I want to hear this song on repeat or even a second time? NO That should be how we judge songs folks, if you want to put a song on repeat over and over and over, never getting tired of it; then that's a hit song. Some folks may be that way with this song... not this dude. Hope it falls off the charts, sorry

Random but the other day the evening DJ of one of our country stations tweeted, asking for requests. I requested Burnin' It Down; he replied he loved that song instantly when he heard it, then brought up this song, asking if I'd heard it because he thought it would smash. /irrelevant anecdotal information

My OCD is acting up since Billboard continues to credit this song as "Makes Me Wanna". No 's', Billboard..

My OCD is acting up since Billboard continues to credit this song as "Make s Me Wanna". No 's', Billboard.. They haven't fixed it as of this week, either. What's even weirder is that on Billboard's main chart, it's "Makes Me Wanna" but they call it "Make Me Wanna" on the Indicator chart.

This is by far the least Jay Joyce-y production I've ever heard out of Jay Joyce. Love the disco-y feel of it though.

I actually really enjoyed this CD and I'm surprised they used the last single on this song. Just not really what I'm looking for from a country song.
