LMAO!
The lyrics to this are so F**KING random. The production is nice, the melody and vocals are on point. But why is Usher singing a love song to his stripper girlfriend?

It's pleasant enough, I guess. But I don't think this is the single he needs, at this point.

Don't like this. I guess that's it for "Good Kisser", huh?
ETA: he sounds good, though.

It's a good track to just throw out to people. As for a single...no. It's too similar to Becky G Shower melody and production wise.

If you dance on a pole That don't make you a hoe.
Hi my name is Bob And I work at my job
Say what? Is he trolling us?
I don't care if this is melodic and mildly catchy. The lyrics are JT's "Losing My Way" levels of bad. Usher's urgency for a hit in 2014 leads him to channel T-Pain's 2006 territory?
It's sad when you support someone's work in three different decades and just when they need your support the most they give you... this shit. No. Just no.

The urban fans are probably going to throw a rock at me but I don't care, if he really felt 'forced' to either be r&b or pop, he should have just gone pop. This is not what anyone needs, like ever.
I'm trying to reason that it's just the lyrics that make it bad but I kind of feel like many of us would be ambivalent to the production as well. It's too minimalist and sounds like a demo.

Still anticipating this album, but this isn't it. Maybe a nice visual/performance will make me change my mind.

trash.
He has stripped himself of any respect and stooped way too low for me and is pandering to the lowest common denominator to get play on Urban. Usher, one of the legends in the history of R&B should be making music to elevate not this shit.
I go back and listen to his classics, fuck this.

This isn't that bad, but it's way too simple lyrically.

Why his and Keyshia's label have the nerve to throw out demos instead of actual singles is beyond me. This is Trey Songz B-side level trash.

Geez. You girls are too much. This is pop music. It's here for entertainment; not to change lives. I can think of at least 10 recent hit songs off the top of my head with equally, or even more "stupid" lyrics. This song was obviously not meant to be taken too seriously, and was just something light, and fun...
And this is gonna smash.

I don't mind this. It's better than Good Kisser at least. I mean that's hardly setting the bar high. To think he used to be an innovator of sound and driver of trends. Now he's in a zone where he releases a Ray J knock off that's fairly favorably compared to his other recent disappointment, Usher's team: if you're lurking the internet for reaction now-- SWITCH THE SINGLE! Thanks.

I'm not one to get on lyrics so much but these are just so laughably bad. Surely they could have come up with something better? A Ray-J knock off is exactly what I was thinking when I listened to this. I would have never guessed this is a Luke production. For all his faults he can do better than this and so can Usher. This is suppose to be the "pop hit" of the era? I wouldnt hold my breath if I were them.

This could smash, but...really, Usher? I'm still in awe at those lyrics. Just wow. At this point in his career, he shouldn't have to do this for a hit. Even so, I can easily see this being huge.

Usher's "Dark Horse" tbh, and I hope this a big hit like "Dark Horse", cuz this is dope yo Except "Dark Horse" sounded full and fresh. This song sounds cheap and stale. Wait am I really saying my favorite singer's song is worse than Katy Perry? Yeah, I did. Fuck. This world today...

^ Wow Usher's your favorite singer? That's cool bro. He's pretty dope
I said it's Usher's Dark Horse only because it features Juicy J and was produced by Dr.Luke and I was joking about that lol

I would take Good Kisser over this any day.
The production on Dark Horse is top-notch; it's urban flavored and goes for the minimalist approach, but it still sounds 'full,' not chintzy. The lyrics are basic (as most pop lyrics are) but aren't clunky or bordering on sounding like a parody. This song is just not developed at all, imo, and if the insane atrocity that we're calling the lyrics is supposed to be intentional then I have issues with the fact that Usher is reducing himself to silly novelty songs for a quick hit. Save that for Jason Derulo and Wiggle (which sorry to say is still better than this). Literally the only thing that would save this song for me is an equally silly video and some great performances where it's clear that Usher is not taking himself or this song seriously. I can give a pass (albeit still with an eyeroll or two) to a guy who is just goofing around for shits and giggles, but not so much if this is a legit stab at trying to hold on to relevancy.
Also if his team was smart they would have waited a couple more weeks and sent out the Ed Sheeran song as second single, not this.
