It's early Friday...but I'm "throwing back" anyway! Here's a personal fave. Always loved this song, but the video gets bonus points for Emily's legs. *sigh*

I was listening to Loverboy right when I read this post, lol. I'll always prefer Streetheart though. This old man also has a massive love for the Canadian arena rock/hard rock/prog rock/metal artists of the 70's and early 80's. Don't get me started on the likes of Moxy and The Hunt.

I can take it or leave it. No one on this forum will get that...

It's Throwback Thursday! Here's one of the more forgotten Canadian 90s bands.

I've charted this for a couple weeks, but you guys might not know it. It's from a side project of Yukon Blonde. Great song.

It's the 5th day of the week!
Since I raved about these guys last week and few of you have heard their songs...
Can you believe this only peaked at #85? What were we thinking?

For my Throwback Thursday "Canadian Rock" selection this week, I've give you Red Rider's "Human Race"...one of the earliest songs to give Tom Cochrane (the band's frontman) significant airplay on US Rock Radio. (I assume many of you are well aware of the band's classic rock standard "Lunatic Fringe".)
This was the first single taken from the band's excellent 1983 album "Neruda". This song reached #11 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Chart, with the video netting significant spins on MTV.
I always liked how the video married the album's opening track "Light In The Tunnel" with the single. "Human Race" specifically starts at the 1:41 mark of this clip.

That's definitely one of my favourite Red Rider singles. One of the lesser known ones too, so it never gets overplayed.

www.981thebridge.ca/Lethbridge has an Alternative station now because, well, screw big cities. EDIT: It's actually a pretty interesting station. It's a lot like The Peak in Calgary, but it's not afraid of playing the heavier tunes. I approve.

I had to do this...For his week's Throwback Thursday pick, I give you Bob and Doug McKenzie (aka the great Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas of SCTV fame). For you younger types that populate the board, I can't really do justice to how big a phenomenon these characters were in the day. The SCTV skits were SO popular that it spawned a comedy album ("The Great White North" which topped the Canadian album charts and reached #8 here in the states) and an eventual feature length film ("Strange Brew"). This was the single from the album, which features Geddy Lee of Rush on the chorus. This peaked at #16 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart in early 1982. (For comparison, Rush's biggest US single on the pop charts was "New World Man", which topped out at #21...also in 1982.)

Pipa and Devin do you guys get a major "1901" by Phoenix vibe from Dear Rouge's "Best Look Lately"? I'm really starting to like it because of that, and I wasn't big on "I Heard I Had".
