Yeah I don't agree with this formula lol I think it should be based on the order of your faves not how much you play them. Just because you play a particular song the m doesn't necessarily mean it is your favorite, for example. So keep doing what you're doing :) Well, I'm obviously a bit biased since I use play counts for mine - but why would someone play a song a lot if they didn't like it? And for the reverse, if someone's never playing a song at all, do they really like it that much? I kinda get what you're saying, though - like me and SUAD. It fluctuates on my chart a lot, not because I hate it one week and love it the next, I'm just less in the mood to hear it some weeks, or it just gets eclipsed by songs I'm feeling even more that week. But I'm glad that my chart reflects that. I also like using play counts because they reflect what I'd played/liked over the course of the whole week, not just what's on my mind when I'm compiling the chart on Sunday morning. I guess it depends on what you want your chart to be: A ranking of what you've actually been listening to the most? Or a ranking of how you feel about current hits/singles each week? Both totally valid, of course, just slightly different types of charts. I think people prefer to follow the latter type, since it's less fun to see a chart filled with songs you don't recognize (like non-singles, or non-Hot 100 hits.) Of course, you do whatever feels right for you, Daniel! ;)

Hmmm...well, I don't like that neither HIG nor IRLY would've been No. 1 with this new formula I don't mind Imagine Dragons, I was just so underwhelmed by IBML that I haven't bothered to check out "Shots" yet. That said, it looks like older/recurrent tracks ("Counting Stars", "Classic", "Best Day Of My Life", "#Beautiful" (YYASSSS!), etc.) really benefit from this new formula, and I'm definitely exited by that! Of course, what matters most is which formula works best for you, and I'll certainly continue to follow this either way :) Will it now be a Top 60 each week, instead of a Top 40, or was that just for the test chart? I think you should give "Shots" a chance. It's an improvement from "I Bet My Life". I was actually surprised to see "Counting Stars" and "Classic" being that high. Those two already have a very long chart run that's why I push it below last year so as not to clog the charts but then I am still playing it so I think that makes some sense. Thanks! So that means you'll be in the tag list next week. Yay! I actually want to have a top 100 but there are a lot of tie outside top 60 so I guess I'll cut it 60 for now. Yeah I don't agree with this formula lol I think it should be based on the order of your faves not how much you play them. Just because you play a particular song the m doesn't necessarily mean it is your favorite, for example. So keep doing what you're doing :) But I can't order my faves :'( I just can't. So I'll use what something quantitative that I have which is "play counts". I think my listening habit would help to make this formula get what I like for a week. So I have this playlist (mostly current) but not every song gets the opportunity to be played because sometimes I don't feel like listening to it. There are also times that I want to listen to a song for one more time. With that, I can say that the most played songs are my most favorites for the week. Okay, let's go with the disadvantages. Since I have a shuffled playlist, there are times that there are songs that are not being played after one rotation. This is something that I manually resolve by playing the particular song when I NOTICE it but most of the time, I don't. Well, I'm obviously a bit biased since I use play counts for mine - but why would someone play a song a lot if they didn't like it? And for the reverse, if someone's never playing a song at all, do they really like it that much? I kinda get what you're saying, though - like me and SUAD. Of course, you do whatever feels right for you, Daniel! ;) I would still go with the new formula but I might still post a chart using the previous one just for the "what ifs". The previous formula is very inaccurate because like crystalphnx said, I also tend to base the chart on how I feel about those songs in a Sunday not the whole week. There are cases where I overplayed a song for the first part of the week and got tired of it by the end of the week. This song is the most played at that week beating the #1 by just 1 play but since I don't "feel" it as #1 by Sunday it end up peaking at #2. (yes, looking at you "Sugar" )

Whoa at all those re-entries! Nearly perfect top 20, you're the first person I've seen who has "It Was Always You" in the top 10, one of my personal favorites off V. Great chart!

The re-entries are due to the new formula. "It Was Always You" already peaked at #2 around the date of album release. I thought it was the 2nd single back them. Now that it's a potential 4th single, I added it once again in my playlist.

Uh..."Infinity"...not...No. 1? #flopformula #gurlbye
- Kidding aside, very exciting to see IRLY on top! I love LoVe LOVE Carly, and while this particular song of hers initially burned on me really quickly, I've been getting back into it lately. - Back to "Infinity", looks like it wouldn't have been No. 1 with either formula :( It definitely managed better than No. 7 on my chart, but I have a feeling it might fall fast. - Random (but cool) to see "It Was Always You" inside your Top 10 in its 35th week, when it's not even a single. Speaking of singles, I'm assuming this would be your first choice for single #4? - "Bad Blood" is certainly benefiting from your new formula! Will the impending remix chart separately? - No surprise that Mark was excited to see "Nobody Love" debut ;) I'm definitely happy to see it enter, too!
A quick shout-out to the many other awesome debuts and re-entries: "Classic" (one of my favorite songs last year), "Night Changes", "Talking Body", "New Romantics" <3 <3 <3

Hopefully now that it is becoming an official single it can make #1 on Daniel's chart this time around :) also hoping it slays on the Hot 100 too!

Sorry to briefly derail Daniel's thread - but what now? When and where was that announced as the official 4th single? I don't see a thread in the Pop folder...

I can't see it clicking enough with the GP for a #1 on the Hot 100 but I think it could easily make top 10 even top 5! Plus I think it's a really cool-sounding song :) but yeah don't quote me on the it being a 4th single part because I'm not certain about that

Anyway, I think I love it more than last week so #7 is not yet the peak ;) Awww. Got tired of it? - Random (but cool) to see "It Was Always You" inside your Top 10 in its 35th week, when it's not even a single. Speaking of singles, I'm assuming this would be your first choice for single #4? A few days ago that's what I thought. Honestly, its my single #2 but yeah it's obvious that "Animals" and "Sugar" would be bigger hits either way. Kind of disappointed that this is not a single yet. Hopefully this would be treated like "I Lived" when "Love Runs Out" came . @markg94 jinxed it !!! >:( jk - "Bad Blood" is certainly benefiting from your new formula! Will the impending remix chart separately? I don't really like playing two versions of a song in one playlist so I guess I'll choose one but either way , I won't chart it separately. It's the same song after all. This actually had an advantage over other 1989 tracks since I hate it initially so I haven't played it that much back then unlike "New Romantics", "Out of The Woods", "I Know Places" and "Wonderland" which have charted already A quick shout-out to the many other awesome debuts and re-entries: "Classic" (one of my favorite songs last year), "Night Changes", "Talking Body", "New Romantics" <3 <3 <3 I'm glad to see that "Classic" is one of our mutual number ones. <3

- :o Do mine eyes deceive me - or did "Infinity" really jump to No. 1 in its second week? Pinch me, please! - "Bad Blood" is off to a very strong start, and since the impending remix will count together with the original, I suspect that it has a pretty good chance of reaching No. 1 in the near future! - Random, but cool, jump for "I Lived." Do you prefer the album version, or the RED Remix? - Lovely to see "Talking Body" earn a new peak. I've been getting back into that one over the past couple weeks. I'm definitely glad that it earned her another Top 20 Hot 100 hit. - I was surprised to learn that Ed's following up TOL with another ballad here in the US, but after seeing him perform "Photograph" on Undateable, I might be getting into it myself. - OUCH @ that debut for "Pretty Girls." Actually, I'm not sure how big of a Britney and/or Iggy fan you are, but since Mariah managed to debut at No. 7, No. 58 seems pretty low. That said, I much prefer "Infinity" to PG - PG is a very strong candidate for my least favorite Britney lead single ever. - Awesome to see "Problem" return - but sad to see that it got stuck at No. 2, just like on the Hot 100. What blocked it here?
Another fab chart, Daniel! :)

- :o Do mine eyes deceive me - or did "Infinity" really jump to No. 1 in its second week? Pinch me, please! No disrespect. No second thought it truly, truly is - "Bad Blood" is off to a very strong start, and since the impending remix will count together with the original, I suspect that it has a pretty good chance of reaching No. 1 in the near future! Yes! I'm starting to love the original. And with the first 3 singles reaching #1, it really has a good chance :) - Random, but cool, jump for "I Lived." Do you prefer the album version, or the RED Remix? Hmmm. Neither. The album version is the first one I had but the updated version did something to me. It's the version with an added vocal towards the end. I only listened to RED Remix for about 2-3 times. - I was surprised to learn that Ed's following up TOL with another ballad here in the US, but after seeing him perform "Photograph" on Undateable, I might be getting into it myself. I'm not really into "Photograph", I'm just listening to it for familiarization. Well, I don't hate it because if I did I'll remove it immediately. It's boring for me but I'm trying to love it because it's Ed. I started playing it 24 hours before making the chart and it only got 3 plays. I love Britney and I think I love Iggy's singles so that might give the song a better chance in this chart. - Awesome to see "Problem" return - but sad to see that it got stuck at No. 2, just like on the Hot 100. What blocked it here? "Fancy" :) Another fab chart, Daniel! :) Thanks!

Great number one and debuts for Sheppard and Adam. "Geronimo" would've charted before if I'm using my current formula. This song just got a second wind for me :)

In the first 20 weeks of 2015, I already had 9 #1s. If this trend would continue, I might end up having 25-30 #1s by the end of the year.

- So I finally gave "Shots" a listen, since it's your new No. 1, and it's actually pretty good! It's definitely an improvement over IBML, and the most...dance-y thing I've ever heard from them. - Ooh, "Bad Blood" really is gunnin' for your No. 1 spot! I'm very curious to see if tonight's video premiere and the soon-to-be-released remix will do the trick! The Remix hits iTunes tomorrow, I think? Or Tuesday, maybe? - While IWAY holds strong, I notice that "This Summer..." is nowhere to be seen! Did you just not have enough time to check it out, or do you just dislike it that much? I'm definitely underwhelmed by it, but it still made my latest chart. - Awesome to see "Marvin Gaye" debut inside your Top 10! I checked it out when "See You Again" hit No. 1 on the Hot 100, and it was love at first listen. - Speaking of awesome debuts, I'm really glad to see "Fight Song" enter! It's definitely been one of my favorite songs of the past couple months, with an unusually steady run on my chart: *2* - 7 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 5 - ? Another killer chart, Daniel :) Also: In the first 20 weeks of 2015, I already had 9 #1s. If this trend would continue, I might end up having 25-30 #1s by the end of the year. I would be more than OK with that outcome!
