I don’t even want to post the latest story. Just hope she can get away somewhere and find a good support group. There’s nothing or no one good left for her in L.A.

The song that gave birth to the pop culture has crossed 700 million streams on Spotify. Her 2nd song to achieve this. ...Baby One More Time has surpassed 800 million streams on Spotify.

Obviously there's much we don't and will never know, but this feels beyond that and has for a long time. It has always felt odd to me among a large group of fans/people that they recognize the unfathomable trauma inflicted on her for so long by the conservatorship and believe her strong enough to be on her own and act in her own best interests. I feel like there could be a real missed opportunity and an ever-closing window for her to get the treatment she needs all in the genuinely understandable effort to keep her "free."

She is a true survivor and I hope she returns to music soon. I don't think I want new music from her. She left her mark on music and worked her butt off for years. I just want her to be happy and safe.

I'm not all the way convinced that she wants to retire. She's been in this weird in-between half-in-half out phase of writing songs, recording songs every once in a while, agreeing to release music semi-annually, and still living in L.A., which is the capital of celebrity. I'm not surprised that they've been hounding her, because from the outside it probably seems like she just needs encouragement and a push to reignite her interest in whatever she wants to do.
She definitely deserves time to figure out what she wants on her own terms, but I also feel she is giving mixed signals. There is nothing stopping her from literally moving to wherever in the world she would want to live and separating from the industry and living like a hermit somewhere no one would ever know about. She probably loves and hates the attention she gets, because she trends for every little thing, she does but that also seems purposeful. There is nothing wrong with that, but it is a reality.
There's clearly something keeping her in L.A. that she isn't ready to move on from. She probably likes or at least feels safety in the idea that she could call anyone she wants up and start work tomorrow. That's not exactly retirement behavior.

If I were Britney I wouldn't even know what I'd like to say creatively, let alone what direction and sound to pursue. I understand the hesitation and ambivalence towards a new project. Other than a glimpse of creativity she was allowed to have with Glory it's been a while since her material hasn't been an overprocessed factory of trend chasing pop.

I feel like she needs to be truly challenged by something in order for her to come back to the industry. Maybe not musically but if an acting role came along, like a supportring role in an A24 film, that really let her think outside the box creatively and not just be "Britney Spears" (think Mariah in "Precious"), I think she'd nail it.

I always root for her and hope she gets time to get it together and maybe make a bit of new music.

I’m convinced that if Britney just got in the room w Charli XCX and AG Cook to conceive an album the results would be groundbreaking. Hearing Charlis new material, it feels like a natural progression for her. And she’d be in good hands.

I'm doing a deep dive into Britney's older material for the first time in like at least 20 years. I owned her first 3 albums and then got more into country music as I was in my late elementary school years and don't think I've ever heard In the Zone outside of the singles.
Starting with ...Baby One More Time and there are SO many bops on this album, even beyond the singles. Excited to dip back into the next 2 albums and experience In the Zone for the first time!

In The Zone has always been my favorite Britney album!!! Can't wait to see what you think of it. There's two additional tracks that are on streaming but on a weird In The Zone DVD EP - "Don't Hang Up" and "The Answer." I recommend those as well.

Ooh thanks about the information about the bonus tracks. I know your quote wasn’t to me, but I went to listen to them and loved “The Answer”. Tracks like this from Britney are some of my favorites. A more Rhythmic production. I think it’s the pre chorus, it kind of reminds me of “I’m A Slave For You” which is probably my favorite Britney song.
