The peaked of Into You is wrong I love NBLY debut!!! ♡♡♡ ah, thank you for pointing that out! I fixed the peak now :) I also just realized ITAPII's peak is wrong too, it should be 17 not 16 weeks yeah, I could swear NBLY debuted 3-4 months ago LOL but I guess it was just bubbling under with not enough points...

Impressive thing that there are 20 songs on your chart and one song could spend up to a year while fighting for position with other songs. Perfect top 10. Tag me please.

twenty øne piløts return to #1 with "Heathens", marking a rare 1-3-1 chart trajectory (in fact, I think this is the first time in the history of my chart that a song had this trajectory; "Starving" almost had a 1-4-1 trajectory last week, but it just missed the #1 spot last week). The song spends its 2nd total week at #1, and the 8th total week at #1 for the duo this year and overall. The song tops the Folk/Alternative Songs chart for a 5th consecutive week, and the duo tops that tally for a 35th total week this year, the second-longest total behind WALK THE MOON (40) (Imagine Dragons topped for 21 weeks with "Radioactive" and for 11 weeks with "Demons" for a total of 32 weeks) (twenty øne piløts' run at the top was interrupted for one week by "7 Years" on the week of April 21st, and hence it was not consecutive; the run of "Shut Up and Dance" at the top was interrupted by "Renegades" and "Shots" hence it was also not consecutive). "Stressed Out" topped for 24 weeks and "Ride" topped for 6 weeks. Will they collect a year at the top by January???
Major Lazer's "Cold Water" featuring Justin Bieber and MØ returns to its #2 peak, but this time behind a different song (the first time was behind "Staving") and tops the Dance/Electronic Songs chart for the first time, giving Major Lazer their second #1 on the genre chart ("Lean On" topped Dance/Electronic Songs for 33 total weeks in 2015-2016). Should it reach #1 in the future, it would be the second #1 for Major Lazer and MØ after "Lean On". It is Justin Bieber's highest-peaking song and he is still awaiting his first #1. Could this be the song that finally gives Justin Bieber a #1 on my chart??? Find out soon...
"Starving" by Hailee Steinfeld & Grey featuring Zedd slips 2-3. It topped the chart for one week the week of August 11th.
"Closer" by The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey climbs 5-4, reaching a new peak. It is the third top 5 for the EDM duo (following "Roses" which peaked at #2 in January and February and "Don't Let Me Down" which peaked at #3 in May). It is Halsey's highest-peaking song on the chart ("New Americana" was on the chart for one week last December, at #16). Will this song be the first #1 for both The Chainsmokers and Halsey?
"I Took A Pill In Ibiza (SeeB Remix)" by Mike Posner falls 1-5 this week; this is the biggest drop from #1 since "Ride" fell 1-7 in July. The song has spent all 28 of its weeks so far in the top 5, including 17 weeks at #1. It remains 1 week behind "Uptown Funk!" for the most ever weeks at #1. Could it rebound and possibly tie or even break the record in the coming weeks? It also ties "Cake by the Ocean" for the longest consecutive stay in the top 10 after debuting in the top 10 ("Cake by the Ocean" rebounds 11-9 for a 29th total week in the top 10, passing "Trap Queen" for the 11th-longest stay in the top ten) and has BY FAR the longest consecutive stay in the top 5 after debuting in the top 5. A truly iconic chart run...
"i hate u, i love u" by gnash featuring olivia o'brien jumps 13-6 in its second week on the chart (I could swear it entered a few months ago, same as with "Never Be Like You"), marking the first top ten for both acts. It is vying to be their first top 5 next week.
"Ride" rebounds 9-7, marking the song's 20th consecutive week in the top 10. It is only the 15th(?) song to stay in the top ten for 20 consecutive weeks.
An even bigger achievement for the duo: "Stressed Out" holds at #8, marking the song's 35th consecutive week in the top 10. Only one other song stayed in the top ten for this many consecutive weeks...
As previously mentioned, "Cake by the Ocean" rebounds 11-9 for a 29th total week in the top 10. It debuted at #7 the week of February 11th and stayed in the top 10 for 28 consecutive weeks.
"Final Song" by MØ debuts at #10, making it her first top ten debut and her third top ten overall. I know I'm a bit late on this song, but better late than never right?
Lukas Graham's "Mama Said" debuts at #18 as the group's second chart entry. "7 Years" peaked at #4 in April. "Make Me..." by Britney Spears featuring G-Eazy returns to the chart following the VMA performance. The song debuted/peaked at #6 in July.

Heathens returns to #1!!! I don't think I dislike any of the songs on your chart! In fact, your entire chart is almost perfect! Hopefully ITAPII gets that 18th week at #1 (I love Uptown Funk as well, but I think I'd prefer ITAPII even more :) )

And in any case, ITAPII is one of the two longest-running #1's on my chart! UF and ITAPII are definitely two of my favorite songs of this decade! :) Thanks for commenting, man!

Major Lazer rises 2-1 with "Cold Water" featuring Justin Bieber and MØ in its 7th week on the chart, after spending two non-consecutive frames in the runner-up position. It is the second #1 for Major Lazer and MØ following the 2015 collaboration "Lean On" which spent 14 non-consecutive weeks at the top, and...what's this? It's the first #1 for Justin Bieber...yep, that's right, he finally got a #1 on Mark G.'s chart. Who would've thought he'd come this far? Is the world ending? I think it might be. Damn! The song also holds atop the Dance/Electronic Songs chart for a second week.
As "Cold Water" rises to the pinnacle, "Heathens" by twenty øne piløts slips 1-2 after spending two non-consecutive weeks at the top. Still the song holds atop the Folk/Alternative Songs chart for a 6th straight week, giving the duo 36 total weeks atop the genre chart this year. More news for the duo with the number 36, their other song "Stressed Out" rebounds 8-7 and spends a 36th consecutive week in the top 10. This is the second-longest consecutive run in the top 10, behind only the aforementioned "Lean On" which stayed in the top 10 for 41 straight weeks (and would return for 4 more later on). It is also now tied with Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" for the 3rd-longest total stay in the top ten. How many more can it pull off? Will it stay in the top 10 for 40 straight weeks or more? Will it beat "Lean On" and become the longest-running top ten on the chart??? And will "Heathens" reclaim the throne in the coming weeks or will "Cold Water" stay at #1 for a long time like "Lean On" did? Or perhaps will a different song take over in the coming weeks? Stay tuned...
Mike Posner's "I Took A Pill In Ibiza (SeeB Remix)" rebounds 5-3 in its 29th week on the chart. It has spent all of its weeks so far in the top 5. It ties "Uptown Funk!" for the second-longest consecutive run in the top 5, and is now just one week behind "Lean On" for the longest. Will it manage to hold its ground in the top 5 next week and tie that record, and possibly beat it the week after? Find out soon... The song also passes "Cake by the Ocean" for the most consecutive weeks staying in the top 10 after debuting in the top 10.
gnash and olivia o'brien each score their first top 5 as "i hate u, i love u" climbs 6-4 in its 3rd week on the chart (I thought it was on longer than that...). The ballad gains by 30.4% in total points this week (which is a lot given that total points for all songs has declined this week). Will it be the next #1 on my chart?
The Chainsmokers' "Closer" slips to #5 from its #4 peak so far. The song is vying to be the first #1 for both acts. Will it get a sudden surge and get to #1 in the near future? I guess we'll find out soon, won't we?
Hailee Steinfeld's "Starving" with Grey and featuring Zedd falls 3-6 in its 7th week on the chart. I knew it wouldn't have much longevity... :/ but at least it hit #1 after all.
As previously mentioned, "Stressed Out" by twenty øne piløts rebounds 8-7 and spends a 36th consecutive week in the top ten.
DNCE's "Cake by the Ocean" rebounds 9-8 and spends a 30th total week in the top 10. It is just the 11th song to tally up 30 or more weeks in the top 10.
Ariana Grande's "Into You" rebounds 11-9, reaching a new peak. It is her 9th top ten hit on the chart and is vying to become her 8th top 5 hit. Find out soon if she does it.
Drake's "One Dance" rebounds 15-10, spending a 16th week in the top ten and 20th consecutive week atop the R&B Songs chart. The longevity of this song on my chart is quite impressive.
Galantis debuts on my chart for the first time (I know, I should've listened to Galantis's other songs more...), just missing a top 10 debut, debuting at #11 on the chart. It is the act's first entry on my chart and is vying to be their first top 10. Two other EDM songs debut on the chart this week: "This Girl" by Kungs vs. Cookin' on 3 Burners at #15 and "In the Name of Love" by Martin Garrix featuring Bebe Rexha. It is the third entry for Bebe Rexha following the #11-peaking "Hey Mama" and the 2016 #1 hit "Me, Myself & I" (she is the featured act on all three).
"Too Good" by Drake featuring Rihanna re-enters the chart at #17. It is looking to get a second wind and secure a higher position on the year-end chart. Just how high will it go in the coming weeks?

Nice week even though I really don't like "This Girl". I have a question for you/your chart: Is the release of a music video for a song good for the songs charting? Does the mv give them a boost?

The Chainsmokers and Halsey jump 5-1 with "Closer" in its 6th week on the chart, and thus both acts score their first #1! The Chainsmokers reached the top 3 twice before this year ("Roses" and "Don't Let Me Down") and Halsey had "New Americana" at #15 on the chart for a week in December. Congratulations to both acts! When I first heard this song, I knew that either it would grow on me a lot and I would love it so much, or that I would get sick of it fast and start to hate it. Looks like the former has happened, although it's still not too late for the latter to follow suit. The song tops the Dance/Electronic Songs chart for the first time as well, dethroning "Cold Water" which reigned for two weeks and giving the Chainsmokers their second #1 after "Roses" ("Don't Let Me Down" failed to reach the top spot due to the massive strength of the SeeB Remix of "I Took A Pill In Ibiza"; more on ITAPII later); "Roses" topped the chart for 5 weeks in January-February this year.
Major Lazer's "Cold Water" featuring Justin Bieber and MØ slips 1-2 after spending its one and only week at #1 so far. It became the first #1 for Justin Bieber and I was pretty disappointed in myself for that, but oh well, the song is a jam anyhow! and the second for Major Lazer and MØ. Could it possibly reclaim the throne in the coming weeks?
"Heathens" by twenty one pilots also slips one spot to #3, having topped the chart for 2 weeks as the third #1 for the Columbus duo. The song tops the Folk/Alternative Songs chart for a 7th consecutive week. In other news for the duo, their other song "Stressed Out" slips 7-8 and spends a 37th consecutive week in the top 10; pushing past "Radioactive" for the 3rd-longest time spent in the top ten among all songs starting from the December 2010 launch of the chart. It remains as the song with the second-longest consecutive run in the top 10, 4 weeks behind "Lean On".
gnash's "i hate u, i love u" featuring olivia o'brien holds at its #4 peak. Will it go higher on the chart and possibly reach #1? Stay tuned...
Ariana Grande scores her 8th top 5 hit as "Into You" bounds 9-5. I believe only Bruno Mars has had more songs in the top 5. If you're really interested in finding out this info for sure, let me know and I'll figure it out (don't want to do it for nothing if no one cares about it XD)
"One Dance" by Drake featuring Wizkid and Kyla bounds 10-6 for a 17th week in the top ten. It peaked at #3 for 2 weeks in July. I am very surprised at this kind of longevity that the song is having. Could it possibly stick around long enough to make the year-end top 10?
"I Took A Pill In Ibiza (SeeB Remix)" falls 3-7, thus ending a marvelous 29-consecutive-week run in the top 5. It remains tied with "Uptown Funk!" for the second-longest consecutive run in the top 5, only one week behind "Lean On". All great things must come to an end eventually. However, the good news for the song is that it extends its record for the most consecutive weeks staying in the top ten after debuting in the top 10 as it has spent all 30 of its weeks on the chart in the top 10 (all except the most recent one in the top 5, too!). The song with its legendary run is very likely to place high on the decade-end chart. I hope it won't have the same nasty fall now that "Uptown Funk!" had after leaving the top 5.
As previously mentioned, "Stressed Out" by twenty one pilots slips 7-8 and spends a 37th consecutive week in the top ten.
"Too Good" by Drake featuring Rihanna jumps to #9 after having re-entered the chart at #16 last week. It reaches a new peak this week (it reached #10 in June). Could it climb even further and perhaps even be their next #1 on the chart? "Take Care" topped the chart for one week in January 2012, so this wouldn't be their first collaboration to reach #1 on the chart; stay tuned...
DNCE's "Cake by the Ocean" falls 8-10 and spends a 31st total week in the top ten. Shame, if it hadn't fallen to #11 a few weeks ago, it would've spent all 32 of its weeks so far in the top ten. But nonetheless, the song ties "Uptown Funk!", "Counting Stars" and "Party Rock Anthem" for the eighth-longest total run in the top ten.
