I enjoy the vocal stylings and The Dream's influence on the track. Probably why we got the whole Memoirs album.
I can't tell you how many times I say "yoouutuuuuube" randomly in my life.

"Touch My Body" very recently passed 100 million streams on Spotify. It is Mariah's 11th song to pass that mark. It is her 9th song to make the 100/100 club (i.e. 100 million Spotify streams and 100 million YouTube views), or 10th if you combined the views for the "Fantasy" album version and remix. (Whitney and Madonna each have 6 songs in the 100/100 club, and Celine has 3.)

^ Well, less than a year later it has more than doubled that peak:
"TMB" now has over 160 million Spotify streams and over 225 million YouTube views. Maybe it can get a 4x platinum cert soon.

Very glad this had a resurgence recently and is now one of her most-streamed tracks.

I think the best thing about this one is the way it managed to fuse the light, airy, catchy vibe of her mid-90s lead offs with the more rhythmic, playing, and pop culture reference elements that had become normal in the 2000s. Really it was just Mariah being Mariah because she'd always bridged pop and hip-hop, but the more assertive lyrics and the playful sexiness were kind of new for her. I think that's why it has been able to endure. I think something like "Dreamlover" is a great pop song, but people seem to prefer a more confident lyric than a princess in a fairy tale lyric.

This song has aged so damn well that it's kind of absurd. Literally went from being such a forgettable #1 to low-key one of the most iconic in her discography.
