Josh Turner is an amazing singer with a traditional country sound that will never go away - there are very few left like him.. It's unfortunate his Punching Bag album flopped, with the exception of Time is Love.. It had a lot of great songs on it with potential at radio, and this sounds incredible!

I am absolutely obsessed with this song, and am hoping that it can get Josh back on the charts! I'm such a fan of his sound, love that he is true to the traditional stuff but it has a modern touch as well.
It annoys me when people who claim to be fans of the genre don't care for (or at the very, very least can appreciate) the roots of country music, so I think the success of a neo-traditional artist like Josh is crucial in helping to preserve the genre and helping guide the direction of where it should be going (that's my opinion).
Obviously people have different tastes and some people are huge fans of the bro-country and pop-country movements (and totally hate the neotraditional sound), but unless there is realistically going to be a split in the genre, there needs to be room for this sound as well.

This is such a great song! I really want it to make the top 40 this week. Also I really hope there will be a music video out soon.

I'm really enjoying this one--it might be my favorite song at radio right now. This has such a refreshingly traditional feel to it...and yet it doesn't sound dated at all. Plus Josh's voice is just pure gold.
"Lay Low" is off to a somewhat slow start (currently #45 on Billboard after 7 weeks) but it's shown some encouraging signs over the last week or two, and it might be able to crack the top 40 on Monday's Billboard chart. Three top 10 songs will go recurrent and Josh has a pretty good chance of passing both The Cadillac Three and Canaan Smith to complete the +5 move. There's also a chance he could sneak ahead of Trisha Yearwood as well.
Hopefully Josh will be able to step up his gains even more over the next couple of weeks, but top 40 will be a nice first step.

Very good video and Josh Turner looks great. I heard this on the radio today for the first time too. Looking forward to hearing it more as it hopefully blows up into a big hit before too long. I'm definitely ready for album #6.

Can't stop singing to myself "I wanna hear raindrops fallin' down" .... the whole chorus is just a breath of fresh air. I love it. Good to see Turner back. In 2007, this is probably a huge hit.
Wouldn't it be awesome to be hearing this one on the airwaves right as winter is ending, leading into March/April? Love the feel of this.

This song really needs to take off. Not his best, but it's up there.

This song really needs to take off. Not his best, but it's up there. This is easily one of my favorite songs going into 2015. Luckily there's a station I listen to out of Austin that plays this daily so I'm able to hear it on the radio, but sorry for anyone out there whose station is ignoring it.

I heard it on WYRK this afternoon when riding in someone else's vehicle and as great as this sounds on your computer or iPhone, its even better in the car.

Ah i see oh well better than nothing....i guess WYRK isn't the only station that does this - play some songs they've recently added at the dead of night. The total audience of "Lay Low" is probably a little lower than it should be. If you notice, Kelsea Ballerini's "Love Me Like You Mean It" has only 32 more spins than Josh's but Kelsea's has roughly 1.35 million more in total audience as hers has been in medium rotation for the Cumulus block stations. It's a maneuver that's not uncommon in modern country radio and WYRK has been doing this for as far back as I can remember but it is frustrating if its a song you enjoy. If "Lay Low" can become a hit for Josh, then I'm sure it will be played more often. :)

I keep telling myself this will be a hit after Christmas, but man I don't know anymore. It just keepps getting passed up and its gains aren't that impressive either

I keep telling myself this will be a hit after Christmas, but man I don't know anymore. It just keepps getting passed up and its gains are that impressive either "Lay Low" is having a decent week this week. It's up 455k in audience over the last 6 days at Mediabase, and it's set to make its debut on Bob Kingsley's CT40 today, so that should give it a boost in tomorrow's update. I'm thinking it can post a gain of at least 500-600k on tomorrow night's Billboard chart. I think that'll get him ahead of Jerrod Niemann and maybe Joe Nichols too, and there's also a decent chance that Josh will be able to re-pass Kelsea Ballerini as well. So I definitely won't be surprised if this one moves up 4-5 spots tomorrow, after getting pushed back from 40-43 this past Monday. It's frustrating that this one has struggled but I'm still pretty confident it will catch on in January and be one of those slow-climbers that peaks during the summer.

^ I don't know about Billboard but I do know Josh moves from #39 to #37 this week on MB with an increase of over 400k in audience.
I don't quite know if "Lay Low" can become a top 5 or even top 10 single but I too see this becoming a slow climber into the top 20.

This is one of my favorite songs on the charts right now. I find myself singing to the chorus even when I'm not listening to it. I'm a little disappointed it hasn't caught on faster with radio, but I'm not surprised.

It's frustrating how Josh Turner basically starts over with radio momentum at 0 with the onset of each new album era. He's a recognizable enough name and proved himself over the years imo that there should be more hype from a new lead single when he gives radio one than he gets. I know he usually gets 1-2 big hits and then his momentum usually tapers off by the third single (or even the second single in Punching Bag's case) and he often takes a little too long of an absence between records, but the way radio reacts to his brand new music is definitely strange. He's yet to deliver a lead single that didn't sound like a total smash, with the exception of his debut single. Based on that, I am optimistic that "Lay Low" will be another big hit for him, though it's clearly in for the long-haul if it's going to get there, unfortunately. "Lay Low" is fantastic though and sounds great on radio, and I'd really love to see him score his fifth #1 hit at BB.

This song has everything programmers say they want in a current mainstream song but I think Josh is in the same boat as Joe Nichols in that his traditional-leaning fare (if in voice only) is going to be slow to build into the top of the charts but that Josh'll eventually get there and that this song will sell as well.

Josh is finally able to crack the top 30 as "Lay Low" jumps from #34 to #30 this week on MB.
Maddie & Tae, Scotty and Dan + Shay going recurrent certainly helped.

On first listen, I was underwhelmed, but after a few more listens, this song has grown on me! Josh always delivers! :)

Theoretically he should stay since he did have a bullet on the 15th of December chart but Jerrod lost a ton of audience and if "Show You Off" got removed, then "Buzz Back Girl" should. Hopefully he's gone.
