Reached the top 10 on iTunes! though slowing at Pop radio while only #15. Which is puzzling to me. You would think this would eventually see bigger gains, but alas it doesn't. Disappointed to say the least.

This is moving up pretty steadily, I hope radio doesn't give up on it,
i think they are releasing that John legend duet, I can't imagine them performing it on the bbmas if it is not going to be a single, Great choice.

She's performing Dear Future Husband on The Voice finale (and potentially on the TODAY concert), but it's looking like Like I'm Gonna Lose You on The Tonight Show. John Legend has apparently been added to the performance.

Wow this is the first I've heard of The Voice performance! And in only a few days! Perfectly timed. Hopefully that can send this song Top 10.

It will be weird if she goes for the next single while this is still climbing on the Hot 100 and on the airplay charts

It will be weird if she goes for the next single while this is still climbing on the Hot 100 and on the airplay charts as much as i love this song it is slowing down too much and it might be hurt that it is somewhat similar to her last two hits . the John Legend duet is a bit different and might have more potential.

I don't question hat John Legend duet needs to be the next. She is in a similar situation than Sam Smith, their first three singles were successful but they need a change of path to establish themselves, but the timing is not the best, because Dear future husband with a little push could be easily top 10 on the hot 100, and sometimes pushing a single before the other is done is risky, and you could end in a Paradise/Pricess of china situation, with both singles underperforming their potential. The good thing for her is that she is still selling albums at good rhythm, till now it's the debut album of the year, and that gives her a big advantage

It's really amusing how this song really does have a weekend iTunes bump. Back up to #12.

Great version and performance.
Is she promoting both songs?

Good performance. Also, it slips a spot to #17 on the Hot 100 this week, but it still shows gains.

Great version and performance. Is she promoting both songs? My assumption is that they've been able to get John Legend out there with her this week, so why not seize the opportunity? And if it blows up, you have good momentum for launching the single.

They should discount this and keep it in the Top 10. Would love for this to sneak a week in the Top 10 of the Hot 100. The sound is tired, but it's still better than LAM.

I still adore this and this song is what hooked me on Meghan Trainor.
It's so cute, fun, sassy, and catchy.
If you hate this song, it's immature, vapid, repetitive, tired, annoying fluff.
I love it, but it's sort of polarizing. Moreso than LAM.
I'm really excited they're not doing Title (that would've been a mistake) and going for LIGLY. That also gets a huge response in sales.
I think this was the right choice, especially over Title, and as the third single. I don't REALY understand radio's resistance to it but it's still done well particularly GIVEN the mediocre radio support. Sales are great (it's going Platinum this week).
To me, she is insanely likable. Her story is literally the dream of every young girl: Normal girl writes about songs she knows, works hard in her living room, gets discovered through a fluke of circumstances and launches into superstardom from a little ditty they wrote without thinking. The fact that she remains so humble, personable, grateful, be hilarious while making great pop music just makes it so easy to root for her. IDK. I haven't liked a new artist as much as her in a long time.

No way. Title was the right choice imo, but they went with their gut and now its struggling. Title is way more catchy.

You think THIS song struggles with polarizing callout scores and you want to do TITLE?
Title didn't get anywhere in Oceania while this went top 10. This sold double the amount Title did.
Title is great but... I'm really happy Deae Future Husband was released. Everyone would have gone "What if?" if it never got its shot.

I don't care if Title flops, I just think it's the better song of the two, and really captures that doo-wop sound the best. Plus it's the title track.
If it's not released, it will also be one of those "what if" moments.

Though I can think of many occasions where heavy promo did not equal top 10 on Itunes (or even top 20 or 30 lol). Seems like audiences or at least certain audiences love this song, but I would suspect it is suffering on radio from stations that tend to play edgier or more rhy-leaning stuff and/or stations that are still stuck on her first two (similar) sounding songs. Oh well-no big deal, it will sell well, and hopefully the fourth single will be a hit for her.

Of course there are always exceptions but I bet most of those occasions you are referring to are songs that received signficant less airplay than "DFH" currently has. I don't know for sure off hand but this song did at least chart in the top 20 (maybe even top 15) on Pop so it had enough base airplay to sustain it until the heavy promo kicked in. Your point about Radio probably being stuck on her two previous similar sounding songs did hurt "DFH" seems on the money though.
