Looks like these are leaking one by one. "Talking Body" is the third leak (behind "Timebomb" and "Thousand Miles") from Queen of the Clouds. This is under "The Sex" part of the album, which is fairly obvious by listening to the lyrics. I like this a little better than "Timebomb", but "Thousand Miles" is really good. This doesn't seem like a song that would be sung by a girl, more like an R&B male singer. But I'd let her sing this to me any hour of the day.

I LOVE this one. Would be happy if it was a single.
So far, all the songs I've listened from the album are excellent, and that's pretty hard these days, or I'm very picky. But she's amazing, I hope the album does well.

The lyrics are so damn sexy:
Now if we're talking body, you've got a perfect one so put it on me.

"SCANDINAVIA! Check out my next single 'Talking Body' exclusively here on Spotify until 'Queen of the Clouds' is released! PUSS"
got it from a notification since i follow her on spotify. wonder if she means worldwide single or just in scandinavia? is she giving up on "not on drugs" early or?

so i'm guessing "not on drugs" is the international single while this is the us? hopefully the former gets a chance here.

"Not On Drugs" was already released as the international single, and this is next internationally (I think). US will probably get "Not On Drugs" next, and probably this afterwards. They could go with "Thousand Miles" though considering that is selling fairly well, and more than "Talking Body" atm. ETA: Just kidding, it wasn't released to radio yet. It was announced though. I don't think the label will pass up on "Not On Drugs" though for the US. It's still selling more, and is in the Top 200 for Alternative (not that big of a feat though lol).

This is the best song on the album, so I really hope the US doesn't pass up on this.

Dude, this is amazing! I'm neutral to "Habits" but this song is some sort of audio crack. I can't stop listening... even though I WANT to stop!

got an add by a pretty big san francisco station! Not too late to dump "Not On Drugs" for "Talking Body" as the next single ;)

Good news (well, in my opinion!): the label has switched to this as the second single. Impacts 1/20, according to Republic Playbook.

Bad move. This is way more risky than "Not On Drugs" is, which already has some popularity whereas this doesn't. Hopefully this smashes though. NOD better be next with "Thousand Miles" to follow.

Excellent.
Not On Drugs should still be a single later on, but this was the right call.

We'll see. This isn't a scenario in which Talking Body suddenly exploded due to a commercial or TV show sync; it was always one of the album standouts, but there's nothing unique about its buzz right now. I thus see this more about Republic *losing* confidence in Not on Drugs than I do thinking Talking Body needs to go right now. That's not to say Not on Drugs won't win in a cost-benefit analysis over one of the other potential singles down the road, but my gut tells me it's done unless it somehow repairs itself at alternative.

personally am much happier that i'll be hearing this on the radio instead, but i think releasing not on drugs eventually would still be good for her. i would be surprised if this didn't do something, considering that she is going to have continuous top ten presence with heroes going top ten as soon as habits goes recurrent.

Well, i thought Not on drugs could work. This year there were a good bunch of number ones on pop from new artist but most of them failed miserably with the second single

I think she'll succeed on her second single unlike most of this year's new artists. I don't think she'll have another huge hit like "Habits", but I think she could lay out moderate hit after moderate hit with a big hit thrown in there every now and then. I think her lyrical content is what will bring her down a bit, despite having catchy material.

That's not to say Not on Drugs won't win in a cost-benefit analysis over one of the other potential singles down the road, but my gut tells me it's done unless it somehow repairs itself at alternative. It was really a toss-up for the second single between this and "Not On Drugs", where I think both of them would do the same (even if released second or third or whatever). This is getting good reception critically compared to "Not On Drugs" (which I like more), as this is considered a huge standout whereas "Not On Drugs" isn't getting much recognition, despite being a Top 3 song on the album (behind "Habits" and "Thousand Miles" for me). I just think "Not On Drugs" has a more interesting sound than this does. In the end, I think both will nail the Top 20 wherever they are released. ETA: Now that I think about it, this actually does make more sense as the second single than "Not On Drugs" at the moment. This has more of a Fall/Winter feel where "Not On Drugs" seems better suited for Spring/Summer. So maybe that was what their decision to switch was based on.

I like this, because it's a) very different from Habits thematically and b) is much more instantly attention-grabbing from the first beat.
While the chorus isn't as big as Not on Drugs, its verses are a lot stronger and the chorus is still catchy. Also dat cowbell.

Great move. The chorus for "Talking Body" is so undeniably catchy that it makes it the perfect follow-up single. If "Drugs" had been released next and stalled (as I think would have happened), it would have made it very difficult for "Body" to gain traction as a third single.
