I like this a lot. I only hear Outkast toward the middle to the end of the song though. It's the way the sample flips and the bass becomes heavier and more prominent. Even then it's subtle, so I can see why some don't necessarily hear it right away. I'm always a bit leery of when people say 'so-and-so's new music is going to sound like [other artist]' - it so often isn't quite what they say it is. Either that or it goes into Blurred Lines territory and you find yourself in court over it.
This is really different from everything else on urban, but Kendrick is a darling right now; I think he will always do well as long as his songs get generally positive reactions..
