I mean I think I speak for everyone here when I say this is more ridiculous than Dr Indie's conspiracy theory posts.

So "Wait for Me" should have bombed as badly on Active as it did on Alt?

Because im so used to thinking of active as the inferior format That still makes no sense. Even if it's inferior, why the hell do you want it to flop? That just makes it worse because the song wasn't able to do well on an "inferior format." It's literally the exact same thing as hoping your favourite sports team sucks going into the season and doesn't make the playoffs.

That has nothing to do with anything. The fact of the matter is that you're still cheering AGAINST success and popularity for a song you like. By definition, that makes you a hipster. OR Perhaps you don't want the song to do well on active, because if it does it means that the active listener base likes it, and since active fans are "uncool" because they like stuff like Nickelback, TOAD, Godsmack, Hinder, Adelitas Way, etc, you can't bear the thought of the uncool active fans liking some of the same music as you, in this case, Rise Against. By definition, that still makes you a hipster.

By definition, that makes you a hipster. By definition, that still makes you a hipster. I just don't want it to BETTER on Active, that's the thing. If this peaks at #10 Active and like #5 on Alt, I'll be fine. But if it misses out on the top ten Alt and reaches it on Active, I'll be mad.

Saying that alternative radio should diversify or perhaps its listeners should be more open to heavier stuff is a fair and logical argument, but to say active should STOP playing a song that it's listeners evidently want to hear just because alternative isn't playing it as much is beyond ridiculous. Like this is how bad you're argument here is: Dr Indie's Billboard conspiracy theory is a thousand times more logical than this (and we all know how completely insane it is), and I've seen you rip into him countless times for it. The fact that you would rather see your favourite bands fail all across the board just because alternative radio doesn't embrace them like they used to shows an obnoxious degree of disrespect for the artists and a complete disregard for the well-being of the band.

Okay fine, but Active listeners clearly don't want this, based on its struggle. In retrosepct, this argument seems really stupid.

You referenced the "IDWTBHA 'fiasco" And you were noticeably upset about it doing well on active, which is a big part of what I'm referring to. Both Rise Against songs. And in IDWTBHA's case, the listeners did want it. It's not that the argument is stupid, its the position you're taking in this argument that's stupid. I'm sorry, I'm usually a lot more humble and open to opposing views than that, but what you're preaching is utterly insane.

I hope my favorite football team beats the Arizona Cardinals, but they better lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars cause they're an inferior team and if we lose to the Cardinals and beat the Jaguars, I'll be really mad.

If you really like a song you should be glad; regardless what genre chart it enters or peaks. I'm actually glad when Indie Pop or alt rock charts on Mainstream pop or Hot AC. It makes it a better chart, but mlore important; the song becomes even more successful. ...and hey, My conspiracy theorys; at least give me hope that Rock may someday makes it comeback to the Mainstream Hot 100 chart; which I wouldn't mind at all.

Blame Obama.
Or, if you want to be factually accurate, blame Clinton.

Stuck at 40 for a second week on Active, so maybe that Devil in My Bloodstream member is getting his/her wish after all? To be fair; the song is a bit more Alt friendly, for it's chorus alone.

I hope this doesn't break their streak of continuous Alternative Top 20s since 2006.
