It also jumped on digital sales chart this week. I won't say it'll go Gold but if it rises another 10 spots, a 300k sales number (it's at 120k now) would be a nice result.

It seems like this has really caught on with radio lately. It's like they finally decided they were going to make this one a hit.

This debuts at 99 on the Hot 100. That's quite fast since it just debuted at #17 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 last week.

I just finally heard this for the first time earlier this evening (that's how often I listen to the one mainstream country station here in Austin) and I really wanted to hit the skip button but I kept listening to the end just to give it a shot. I couldn't find anything that I liked about this and the electric guitar embedded in the song is way over the top for my taste. Dustin Lynch has certainly become one of my least favorite male artists in country music today (in my head I was comparing him to how I feel about Rodney Atkins). Honestly, he lost me with "She Cranks My Tractor" and its been downhill after that.

"Cowboys and Angels" was a MASTERPIECE. God I wish he would release something like that again instead of this boring stuff.

This ones finally really starting to make some noise, huh? Closing in on the Top 10, yesterday's gain was over 500k (forgot exact number) and today it looks to be 765! Awesome news.

I was listening to WYRK on my ride this afternoon and the deejay said after playing Ronnie Dunn's "Cost Of Livin'" (going out by request), "there's a great true country song." Then the opening guitar riffs of "Hell Of A Night" blew threw my speakers. I think most can safely assume what the wise guy in me said out loud, lol...

You know for my 2 cents, WYRK isn't really bad at all. Granted, I've come to just enjoy my own playlists rather than the radio, but there's times that WYRK is pretty good, like in the mornings I enjoy the breakfast club, and then there's Saturday mornings which are arguably the best time to listen to them

It was Rob Banks. Once you listen to Sirius/XM, it's really not the same. I only tune in when I don't hear what I want on The Highway or Y2Kountry. I never get up in time on Saturday's to hear Wide Open Country. The Breakfast Club is unbearable for me, sorry, lol. Most FM morning shows aren't really my thing. Anyway, "Hell Of A Night" looks to be a top 5 single, at the least, with the audience gains its been posting lately. I just can't listen to this song when it comes on the radio though. It's not often I find a song "lame" but this one more than qualifies. The lyrics are just cliched nothingness, and I hate the production; that along with the instrumentation drowns out Dustin's great voice, which is wasted on this track anyway.

Love Dustin, love the song, and love WYRK...sorry y'all. Maybe I was the one to request it after Ronnie's tune. Hoping at least for Top 5 but it would be really awesome if BBR could take this one all the way to the top!!

This song is ok. Decent country-rock song. But I don't want this to hit the top or if it does just MB. This song has felt like such a non-event song. As like Dustin's music is so radio-friendly lets stick with it. I give Broken Bow credit for sticking with this one so it can become a hit but this song will easily be his 3rd song most remembered so far.
This is also my problem with Frankie Ballard's Young & Crazy and Brad Paisley Crushin It. None of those song deserves #1. They just don't none will get a lot of recurrent play when they are done that I can guarntee. Besides look at the Top 15 on last nights Billboard chart. You have lead-off songs for albums (Buy Me A Boat, Kiss You In The Morning, Crash & Burn, Kick The Dust Up, Love You Like That) or you have strong digital sellers (Loving You Easy, Girl Crush, House Party, One Hell Of An Amen, Sangria, Tonight Looks Good On You.) Or some both.
Ok off my soap box.

This definitely seems like a solid lock for top 5 with quite a few songs ready to start dropping above it. I honestly don't know why, but I've become a pretty big fan of this one. The lyrics are lame and not even that descriptive, but yet I still seem to enjoy it quite a bit. I guess the hard rocking edge to it makes up for the poor verses. At least the chorus is decent, that kind of saves this one.

I like this too more than I feel I should, lol, but I really think Dustin Lynch has a pretty good voice and I enjoy aspects of this song (I feel like it's catchy, rockish but not too much, etc.). One of my favorite parts is the way he sings "hot little playlist." #random. That said, this one isn't nearly on the level of catchiness that "Where It's At" is though. <3

But I tend to enjoy moments like that in songs with interesting phrasing or ad-libs or quirky effects, etc. Like one of the best parts of "Love Me Like You Mean It" for me is the little la-la-luh-love me part or the autotune effect part of "Going Out Like That" near the end, i.e.

I just don't like the phrase "hot little playlist." It just seems like they needed a certain amount of words and syllables in that line of the verse and thought combining "hot little" and "playlist" sounded cool, and I personally don't. Oh well.

Yeah, I can't stand this song, and one of the reasons why is the "hot little playlist" line (and the verses in general). I mean, who talks like that? Nobody. It's just laughably bad to me. Dustin's got a good COUNTRY voice but it's wasted on songs like this.

Good news is, this is nearing its chart run and with two mid to upper tempo singles, it's time for a song like "Your Daddy's Boots" (still think this will be a major hit with females and akin to "I Loved Her First" and "Stealing Cinderella" as a wedding song and father-daughter dance song) to be released.

The "auto tune" effect on "Going Out Like That" is called a flanger and it's been around long before auto-tune. This song is called "third rate Jason Aldean wannabe" and it's been around way too long.

Yes, that was an autocorrect fail. There's a reason I don't post from my phone very often.

It would be great for Dustin to get another #1, but I really hope this isn't the song that does the trick. I've always thought that this was a pitiful single choice and this sudden (and perhaps manufactured) radio surge does nothing but reinforce that idea. I really don't think there's anything special about this song; yeah, it's got a decent beat, but the lyrics and melodies feel pretty weak.
Something's telling me that it could start free-falling within the next few weeks since it's already one of the oldest songs on the chart right now.

Free-falling? But hasn't it been posting solid gains of 500k or more over the last couple weeks? The one day he had over a 900k gain. I'm not really sure this one is manufactured. I think it just took radio a long time to really get on the ball with this one and I still think the hype from the LB tour could have something to do with it too. This song does really well live. I've seen 3 shows on the tour so far (with another probably 3 before it's over) and the crowd reaction is always really good with it. I know y'all aren't that big of fans of it, but there are a lot of people out there who love it, I can assure you that. Again, all personal preference when it comes to song choice (thank god) and I again, really hope this song continues to do well up the charts.. better late than never!

Technically, this will "free fall" in a "few weeks", after it hits the top or close to the top of the chart (just like every songs that reaches this point). "Hell Of A Night" gained nearly 5.0 million in audience this past MB chart week and has recently been converted into top 10 spins and will get converted into max rotation shortly, after Michael Ray, Luke Bryan, ZBB and Frankie peak. Yes this song is 38 weeks old but weeks charting doesn't matter as much as it used to in regards to singles. So many songs spend 25-30-35-40 weeks on the chart these days, so Dustin's doesn't seem so out of place as it would have 6 or 7 years ago. Songs always find that extra gear once they reach the top 20 -- there are just so many singles being heavily promoted these days that songs just get clogged in the lower portion of the chart (having minimal gains) and now Dustin's song is pretty much cruising right now.
I definitely thought there was a chance this song could get lost in the shuffle as it had that rough start when it was first released but Broken Bow, like they always seem to do, weathered the storm and now have another marathon chart run that looks to result in another top 2 peak.

Yeah, I know a song just about always free-falls after it peaks, guess I worded wrong. My only other thought is that maybe that huge gain was BBR's final push but again, I hope not!! And if it's going for top 2 might as well go all the way!!

And if it's going for top 2 might as well go all the way!! Not that simple. Dustin has Sam Hunt coming in. Those 2 are pretty close and Sam Hunt seems to want multiple weeks. I'm not saying it won't happen but Dustin has to hold Sam Hunt off otherwise Dustin doesn't have a shot.

My post wasn't really directed at you (hence why I didn't quote you), but just the notion of this song "free falling" which was first brought up in the post above yours. This song is not doing a final push right now as "Hell Of A Night" is about 1800 spins 17.0 million in audience behind the current #1 song. Broken Bow will likely shoot for #1 in 3-4 weeks or so, after Luke, Michael, ZBB and Frankie peak; then there's really just Sam Hunt to battle as Thomas' song is pretty far back at the moment.
