Wow Rodney's voice has deteriorated. Catchy song nonetheless. Hope it does well for him. I thought the same thing. His voice, in this song, sounds as though he's aged 15+ years since his last single. Nevertheless, this is catchy as heck (the melody was stuck in my head after just one listen). It'll be interesting to see how this fares against the current playlist of songs on the radio.

I listened to this song ONCE and ten minutes later I was singing the chorus. It's got a really smooth feel to it. I think his voice is fine and musically it's so simple and catchy that it's almost annoyingly good. Perfect length and I'm hoping it makes it further than his last (underrated) single.

Rodney has been hit or miss with me. This one is oddly likable on first listen.
His vocals don't bother me, he has one of those voices that is more character-oriented than true singer IMO.

This isn't bad, but it sounds too much like a novelty song for me to think this could make the top 10. It's a far cry from If You're Going Through Hell though.

This songs is definitely growing on me with every listen. The title works well withing the song (though I'm contemplating calling up Curb and requesting some commas in the title). But unfortunately this sounds too much like a song that would have been released 10 years ago and I doubt this gets top 40 for Rodney.

I'm actually gaining more interest in to exactly how many adds this gets come Monday. There seems to be an add every day on All Access for it whether it'd be a simple banner ad or on the opening log in page, and it got some early adds out of the gate last week. Rodney only has to go against Brantley and Haley & Michaels on the 17th so that's a plus.
I still would wager this doesn't crack the top 40 but there seems to be more buzz about this release than his last try with "Doin' It Right".

This is pretty bad. The horrible title makes a bad impression to begin with and it sounds just as ridiculous in the song. It's kind of a catchy tune, but I find it mostly annoying. It's hard for me to really root for him because I've heard him live and I don't think he's a good singer. I actually have his If You're Going Through Hell album and he's definitely "better" on his records. I prefer it when the opposite is the case.

His voice was never good to begin with, but this is definitely one of his worst vocals on record to date. The song isn't all that catchy to me either, because the hook is clunky and I don't really care for the melody or the obnoxious backing vocals (which sound like somebody said 'let's throw this on there to make it catchy,' and it didn't actually work).

Since "Lonely Tonight" was sent to radio Monday, most stations won't report it as an add until the 17th. I'll wager that Blake gets over 60 adds on Monday. I would actually be surprised if this has an above average adds "turn out" on Monday, even with all the ads from Curb. The Curb promo teams have almost no success with radio in the last several years other than Lee Brice, and Lee is at the point now where his name is big enough that his songs sort of take care of themselves with little help from the radio team. Rodney is not at that point--I've liked some of his songs in the past, but now he's more or less a "has-been" who has zero momentum.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I've stated multiple times I don't expect this to go top 40; I'm just curious since it appears Curb isn't going to go quietly into the night. Personally I feel the song itself has more to do with why this won't do well rather than the label he's one, which of course will always be a factor when it comes to Rodney these days. It just strikes me as a song that's about 8-10 years too late. As for Blake's song, I forgot about that I'll admit. Just the weird timing of the instant release of the single made radio have to break the adds for his song up. Since Blake got 25 adds last Monday, I think your guess of 60 is a good one - heck even more than 60 might be my wager. ;)

I said this earlier in the thread before hearing the song, but I think Rodney's pretty much done having hits. I'm not expecting this to go Top 40 if "Doin' It Right" couldn't even make it past #53. The backing vocals on most of Rodney's songs are SO annoying to me. It varies for me. The backing vocals on "Take a Back Road" are part of why I actually enjoyed that song, especially near the end of the song when the female voice gets a line by herself (she sounds a lot like Heidi Newfield). But the ones on this song seem like something of a lazy last minute addition.

This is awful, mainly because of his pitiful voice. When he says "I'd be like, sweet" in the chorus, I literally shake my head. It's catchy, but that doesn't make up for the vocal performance. Someone like Houser/Blake Shelton/Joe Nichols/Chris Young, and I'd probably like it quite a bit.

I cannot stomach that song for one more listen, which could be said for most of his big hits but that one in particular. The background vocals in that song make me dislike the song even more. The only reason I don't hate the background vocals in this song as much is because it's instrumental to the songs melody. Now that can obviously be why many people don't care for the song but it makes it that much less annoying to me than others in this thread. I agree that Rodney's vocals sound extra anemic on this though.

Rodney's days of scoring hits are officially over if you ask me.
11 total adds on impact day. Haley & Michaels pulled off more first week adds (15) than Rodney and Curb.

Thought it was worth mentioning that "Eat Sleep Love You Repeat" actually made it's debut at #50 on this week's Top 50 for Mediabase according to Country Aircheck Weekly for this week.

I heard this song today on The Highway's "On The Horizon" show and it was the first time I've heard it anywhere. I actually forgot about it to be quite honest. It sits at #51 on MB this week (it peaked at #48 on the March 2nd issued MB chart), and has been out for 20 weeks or so. It's already been sent recurrent on Billboard after peaking at #47. It's gains have been non-existent lately, so I do think #47 and #48 is as high as "Eat, Sleep, Love You, Repeat" will go (ha, added the commas in there cause my OCD couldn't resist).

I just think Rodney needs the right song and probably a new label. I don't know who would give him a shot at this point, but I think there still may be potential left. He's got a decent fanbase I think and a good catalog of tunes.
To me, "If You're Going Through Hell" and "These Are My People" are really monumental examples of what I think country music should sound like. Those are superhits. Along with "Watching You" and "Farmers Daughter" (and even "Take a Back Road" and "It's America") I think Rodney really produced us some hits that were way above his paygrade, for lack of better phrasing.
"Doin' it Right" was a good tune but very lackluster and this one is hummable but just kind of "there." If he has any hope of getting back to radio relevance (with Curb, nonetheless) then he needs an upbeat, everyman singalong with heart and meaning.
Just press play on "These Are My People" and wow. That intro still gives me chills. That's some rockin' country. You take your Sam Hunt beats and your Cole Swindell singalongs, I'll keep my smalltown fiddle and steel.

I have heard this song at least twice a week since it came out, so I had no idea it was still so low on the charts! I guess for me most of his songs through the years have just been so stinking overplayed that when he has a song floundering outside the top 40 it feels like a totally normal level of airplay

I guess with Curb taking so long to release singles and albums for their artists, it's only fitting they take forever on the music videos, too.

I'm wondering did they just film this or was it filmed when the song was still charting? Hopefully the latter but knowing Curb it might've just been filmed now.

this is said in the video description "Eat Sleep Love You Repeat is the first of several videos following a love story that will take viewers for a twist and turn ride!" hmmm sounds interesting so i'm guessing like the next 3 or 4 of his music videos will follow the same storyline
