I spent the weekend listening to the album (downloaded it)-I like it a lot more than I thought I would. I'm torn about his future at country radio. I do like variety on my country radio and to be honest, if I hadn't heard Leave the Night On over the airwaves I wouldn't have bought this album. Should he be a staple at country radio? Not sure if he will be; but although I'd like to see him played to some degree I wouldn't want the genre to veer in this direction in a big way because although I really like the album, I also think it can't be defined as Country music. Cop Car was surprising, it sounded very much like the Keith Urban version- for some reason I expected it to sound quite different. PS: I had to laugh at that Michigan review- it hit nerves but seemed fairly accurate in my opinion-even though I really enjoy this album. www.michigandaily.com/arts/10sam-hunt-montevallo-album-review29

I really wasn't a big fan of this album as a whole, "Leave The Night On" (only for the first verse which I love), "Single For the Summer", "Breakup in a Small Town" (it's not Country at all, but I like it quite a bit), and "Cop Car" (though it's clear that Keith's version is better imo).

Still It reads more like a guy bitter with where country is going than actually knowing the production (which is not 'amateur' or 'demo') as he says they are. Many demos sound exactly like what is on the radio.
