Absolutely love the deliberately corny lyrics in the chorus. It's catchy.
Verses kind of seem odd for a radio single though.

It's pretty decent, sounds a lot like vintage Weezer. I'll say top 30 on Alt, but not sure if i'd go any higher right now.

This is an ok choice as it's one of the more decent tracks on the album from I recall. I don't know the album well enough yet to choose what might have been better. I'm hoping it hits the Top 10 on Alternative.

Wow, this is the first song off this album I've heard that I liked. Why couldn't this be the first single?

This is so much better than "Back to the Shack." It's like night and day.

That's a decent bullet. I could see this hitting Top 20, maybe Top 10 if they're lucky. Hard to tell. BttS got all the comeback momentum, but it wasn't a great song on its own merit.

This is a good song. Hoping it goes at least Top 20. Only thing that bothers me is the whistling - was never a fan of whistling in songs (Probably a factor in my general dislike for indie-pop songs).

This is so much better than "Back to the Shack". So, naturally, it will miss out on the top 10 because it's not the comeback single. Sigh.

I don't know why people are assuming this will just flop. "Back To The Shack" did well to go top 5 against all odds, and this one has been pretty well received, not to mention Weezer still appeals to today's audience. I think this will get into the running for a top 10 spot, but yeah of course it'll be competitive and tough to crack it.

Why "Back to the Shack" was the lead single over this is beyond me.

Why "Back to the Shack" was the lead single over this is beyond me. "Back to the Shack" definitely another entry in post-reunion Weezer's running trend of releasing attention-grabbing lead singles with kinda stupid lyrical content ("Hash Pipe", "Dope Nose", "Beverly Hills", "Pork and Beans", "Memories", "Back to the Shack"), only broken when they decided to release "I'm Your Daddy" as the second single rather than the first

I'll take whistling over screaming 9 times out of 10. Those puke simulations tend to gross me out quite a bit. But I'm also often irritated by whistling. It's what brings otherwise great songs like this and "The Walker" down for me.

This song is finished. Starting to fall off the Alternative charts with -32 spin drop on radio this week. A sad peak of #32 for such a fantastic song.
I always felt "Ain't Got Nobody" or "Go Away" would have been a better choice for single number 2. "Ain't Got Nobody" has the power and "Go Away" has the indie rock quirkiness (guest vocalist and all).

Good to see Weezer can still produce great songs like this. I like Back To The Shack also, but this is pure gold.

I actually like the song, but Thier performance on the chart has been very poor. Time for them to start choosing a next single.

Glad to see this flopping. I wonder if they'll try to release another single after this.

Of all the songs to flop, why THIS one?

Yeah, it sucks to see this flopping. I now enjoy this a lot more than "Back to the Shack" and was hoping they'd have another decent era (Album's got quite a few songs that could be a single). Guess not. :(

This is so much better than "Back To The Shack". I wonder if the quick burnout from that song had a negative impact on this one.

With the exception of Dave Grohl, who has become a celebrity and had a huge HBO TV series to maintain his relevance - the 90s bands appear to have passed their due date with the alt radio listener. The upcoming chili peppers record could be an enlightening litmus test for whether these bands matter much at all to people under 35 - who were in 9th grade when Cobain died.

They shouldnt have a due date0. Bands dont just expire.

I would certainly say they matter to people in the 25-34 age range (I'm 30 myself). 18-24, maybe not so much. That said, Weezer had more out-of-the-gate success this era than a lot of other '90s acts have, so I would have thought a second single (especially one as strong as this one) would have at least been given a bit more of a chance.

I think sometimes in cases of veteran acts it's more important to look at the longevity of the lead single instead of its peak to determine future success in the era.
