For what it's worth, I think Frozen is grossly over-rated as well, both the movie and soundtrack. (Let It Go is infectious, however.) I like it when a sound track and animated film receive this much success but I wish this success went to better options.
Still, it will be interesting to see how Frozen and Taylor Swift end the year.

I loved the Frozen domination, even before seeing the film- and seeing it only made me enjoy it more. :) In turn, I'm enjoying the arc on Once Upon a Time.
The singalong edition probably will help bolster sales- as for the songs-only release- if it were marked down more, it may put an even bigger dent in the full soundtrack's sales, but I don't think that's the case.

I really don't think Disney has much of an eye on what album is going to be the top seller of 2014 on Billboard.
If the OST ends up #2 on the end of year, I really don't think they'll be too beat up consider they'll have sold close to 4 million copies of all units combined, plus at least 4.5 million downloads of just the Idina Menzel & Demi Lovato versions of Let It Go, not to mention the hundreds of millions of streams of all of the 100000000000^3 different language versions of the song on YouTube.

The people who post here, not the target audience. So I get why few people here like Frozen.

Yep, it's not likely that Disney is losing sleep over whether its title will end up as the No. 1 seller of the year. :0

LOL - right. More precisely, they have a new franchise on which to build future movies, soundtracks, toys, video games, etc.
The fact that it is even in the running for #1 seller of the year is amazing in itself since the first several weeks the movie was in the theater are not counted in the total

Can you imagine how much money Frozen has made/will make total? Like, from all merchandising, box office, dvd sales, cd sales, etc? I don't think they care about being the #1 cd for the year because they are too busy choking on the billions they made.

With streaming going into effect for the new rules with the BB200, us heading into the holiday season, and 1989 being completely unavailable to stream anywhere, I don't think 1989 is taking the top spot.

Taking the top spot of what, the Soundscan year end?
She would have added about 60k (rough estimate with 450k downloads, 19.1 million streams for BS, 3.5 for SIO) to her total with TEA and SEA if the chart was enacted this week. This might even help her.

No it won't, yet. I believe YouTube Music Key will be included at some point though
