William Faulkner is kind of an underrated "Southern" signifier mentioned in a few different songs..
"Maybe It Was Memphis" by Pam Tillis (read about you in a Faulkner novel..)
"Love Your Live the Most" by Eric Church (I'm a fan of Faulkner books..)
"Southern Voice" from Tim Mcgraw (William Faulkner wrote it..)
