I'd personally prefer to see a top 500 of the 2010s list for real points rather than inverse points.
The inverse points system is great for near the top but not near the bottom.

Looking ahead for the 2010s decade end list, bad guy should be making the list in 2 weeks, and Sucker will need 6-7 more weeks to do so. If Talk stays in the top 10 for several more weeks it has a shot, but I don't think it will. Nothing else outside the top 100 really has a chance.

Also, tbh I don't think anything else from this decade will make the all time list.

I don't think so either; there isn't enough time for that to happen.

How did Billboard calculate the "BB200 Decade-End" charts of the 1990's? Did they calculate it via. inverse points (weeks at number one/weeks spent in the top ten etc.) or through pure/physical sales (highest to lowest)? These were the top 10 albums: 1) Jagged Little Pill: Alanis Morrisette 2) The Bodyguard OST: Whitney Houston 3) Come On Over: Shania Twain 4) Fences: Garth Brooks 5) Titanic OST: Sony Classical. 6) Falling Into You: Celine Dion 7) Cracked Rear View: Hootie & The Blowfish 8) Metallica: Metallica 9) Please Hammer, Don't Hurt Em': MC Hammer 10) Lets Talk About Love: Celine Dion Do any of you know the weeks spent in the top ten/on the overall charts for each? rockgolf

Purely a guess on my part, but I think it was a sum of actual weekly point totals.
Reason for that is Candle In the Wind being the #1 song of 1997, despite being on the charts for only 3 eligible weeks, but with staggering sales and chart lead in those weeks. (It was #3 for the year after one week, according to a contemporary report by Fred Bronson's Chart Beat Chat.)
If they applied a point total for singles, I suspect they'd also apply it to albums.

I'd personally prefer to see a top 500 of the 2010s list for real points rather than inverse points. The inverse points system is great for near the top but not near the bottom. I was working on one using my semi-accurate year end formula but i jumped out the window on that one around 2011.

This was the last week that any new song on the chart would have any possible chance of making the decade end list. Since no song even debuted in the top 10 and there are now only 13 weeks left, looks like the only songs that can potentially make the list are already close. (13 weeks at #1 = 676,000 points, just shy of making the list). I think Sucker and Bad Guy will make the list, bad guy will do so in a few weeks, Sucker might take a bit longer to do so. Other than that, the only ones that have any chance are Talk, I Don't Care, and Senorita. I have a gut feeling that Senorita will be just shy of making the list but its still certainly possible. For Talk and IDC, it can happen but I highly doubt it. I really want Senorita to be in the top 100 and I think it will be, at #100. My early prediction

Let's Talk About Love had half the longevity of Falling into You, but still sold a similar amount. Celine Dion basically pushed 30 million+ albums in the US alone in 2 years with "Falling into You", "Titanic" and "Let's Talk About Love"

weeks in the top 5/10/20/50 1) Jagged Little Pill - 56/68/81/94 2) The Bodyguard OST - 31/40/55/78 3) Come On Over - 13/50/105/110 4) Fences - 13/36/88/128 5) Titanic OST - 18/20/25/39 6) Falling Into You: Celine Dion - 47/60/67/77 9) Please Hammer, Don't Hurt Em' - 44/52/57/71 10) Lets Talk About Love: Celine Dion - 23/26/32/51 couldn't find chart runs for Cracked Rear View or Metallica Wow. Celine Dion basically pushed 30 million+ albums in the US alone in 2 years with "Falling into You", "Titanic" and "Let's Talk About Love" The only reason that "Let's Talk About Love" didn't have as much longevity post its peak weeks is because it was literally competing with the "Titanic OST" and both albums had "My Heart Will Go On" included on them albeit different versions. Nonetheless "LTABL" did spend 16 weeks at #2 however, mostly behind the "Titanic OST". It truly is incredible that both albums sold the same amount like you stated.

Where did you find this? "Jagged Little Pill's" chart run is ABSOLUTELY INSANE! It's no wonder it was the #1 album of the 1990's. I knew the album had multiple cycles at number one across two years (1995 & 1996) and was the first album by a Female and second overall to spend well over a full year in the BB200 top 10 but that's about it. Houston's "The Bodyguard OST" was a behemoth also, as was Hammer's "...Don't Hurt Em" especially considering the latter was essentially a one-hit wonder.

I decided to post my own version of the Hot 100 Decade-End List using a real points system which I will post here. For right now, I only have the top 100, although I might expand it later on.
This chart was calculated through a sum of total chart points on the chart, weighing each era due to streaming as well as various turnover rates. The multipliers that I’m using are made such that one can easily compare real and inverse points for a particular song by just comparing the two finals numbers for both.
Thoughts on current songs: 7 rings and Wow do not have enough points to be on this list, and given that both are outside the top 20, from where they’re at right now, I don’t think they will. Without Me and Sunflower had quite dominant chart runs, especially in the top 10, but their weekly performances weren’t that strong. On the other hand, Old Town Road is already in the top 15, which I don’t think is a surprise to anyone, considering that it was, in fact, massive. In short, with the exception of Old Town Road, just about all of the hit songs in 2019 weren't that strong points-wise.

Wow this is super interesting, thank you! The inverse point system really did "Roar" dirty! It's crazy how it was a similar sized hit to "Girls Like You", yet one is top 5 and the other is outside the top 70.

Should “OTR” fall out of the top ten by week 25/26, and continues a rapid descent from there, where will peak on the Decade-End list?

Should “OTR” fall out of the top ten by week 25/26, and continues a rapid descent from there, where will peak on the Decade-End list? If it falls quickly, it'll either barely miss the top 10 or just make it. personally I don't think it will fall rapidly and I could see it getting as high as #7-8

Are you guys going to continue on with the list for those songs that stay on the charts past the decade-end cutoff? It's going to be curious to see the new decade beginning chart shape up in 2020.

For Funsies.. here are the Highest placing songs from each year from when they were RELEASED.
2010: Rolling in the Deep 2011: Party Rock Anthem 2012: One More Night 2013: Blurred Lines 2014: Uptown Funk 2015: See You Again 2016: Closer 2017: Shape of You 2018: Girls Like You 2019: 7 Rings (weird i know)
Here are the Highest Placing songs that DEFINITELY reflected that year. (might have been released later in the previous year or didn’t catch listeners til the following year(s) or got caught between years.. if this makes sense lol)
2010: Just the Way You Are 2011: Party Rock Anthem 2012: We Found Love/Somebody That I Used To Know (some can argue that WFL is more 2011 therefore next up would be STIUTK) 2013: Blurred Lines 2014: All About That Bass 2015: Uptown Funk 2016: Closer 2017: Shape of You 2018: Girls Like You 2019: Old Town Road
