Next week will mark the one month anniversary of when I joined the Pulse music forum. First off, I want to thank YouTube user graveyard63 for introducing Pulse to me. I've had fun exploring everything around here. So I've been thinking and as a former trivia master, it seems as though games, competitions, polls, and personal charts are the only things I'm good at here. I've thought of some good competitions to bring here to the forum and some good threads for you all to participate in to add a twist to the JL44 chart. Here are some things I've thought of and I'd like to hear your feedback on whether or not it'd be a great idea, plus any ideas for a thread that I should start...
Seasonal tournament of songs. Every 3 months (for winter, spring, summer, and fall), I'll host a tournament for all the songs that have made the JL44 and it'll be seeded by the amount of points each song has amassed. The winners for each round will be determined by YOU! For the year-end tourney, the top 64 songs based on points will be in the tourney.
Kick It or Keep It? Every Friday, via a poll, I will introduce 2 new songs. The one you vote to keep will receive 50 bonus points toward its Jboard points total, giving it a better chance to debut on my personal chart while the other song will receive no points.
Danger Zone. Each week, the lowest 4 songs on the JL44 (Spots 41-44) will each be in danger of being eliminated from the chart. And you get to pick the one that goes. The one with the most eviction votes will be eliminated for at least a week. If a song is eliminated a second time, it'll be gone for at least 2 weeks. The third time it's eliminated, it's gone for good.
And lastly:
Risk. The objective is simple: If you like a song on my chart or hate a song and you think it will go up or down the most points on next week's chart, bet on it. If you're right, the amount of points that song went up or down will double, bringing it closer to the top of the chart or to the bottom, maybe even knocking it out. If you're wrong, the amount of points it goes up or down will be cut in half, making it difficult for it to reach the top or be knocked off.
What do you all think? You want to see at least one of these next year? You have any other ideas for me? Let me know, I want to add some fun to the forum, it's what I do best. Thanks!
