I thought this would be her breakthrough in America. Her first album was too out there to ever really be accepted in America, but I thought Primadonna (at the time) had the potential to connect. Then the wheels fell off the bus.

Primadonna should have been huge, but maybe it was just too similar to Katy Perry (albeit better) for radio/the GP to hop on board? I don't know, but if this had done well, she had other singles that could and should have done well, but this was the obvious kick-starter.

That whole album was ace, especially this, "Power and Control", "Radioactive" and "How To Be A Heartbreaker". At least it was a big hit in Europe, the US can have their Katy Perry.

I don't know why, but I NEVER thought this sounded like Katy Perry, and always find it odd that it is the comment everyone seems to make about this song. If anything the production sounds more like a Ke$ha track (I know both are the Dr. Luke sound, but Ke$ha was always more electronic while Katy is straight up pop).
But I digress, I absolutely love this song and it was probably my favorite song all throughout summer of 2012. The album was pretty great too, but this totally should have been a smash hit, though I actually heard it on the radio several times.
I hope there's a song that's as good as this on FROOT, because the title track isn't cutting it for me.

It got annoying way too quickly, the album itself has 1 track that I'm still willing to listen to (Valley of the Dolls). The album was a calculated attempt but it failed spectacularly so I'm really surprised she is going to release a 3rd album next year.
