Ugh, I was hoping for "Don't You Wanna Fall", but this one is likely a safer choice for radio.

This was the safest choice, but that doesn't always mean the best choice. I'm sure this will do fine, I'll predict a peak in 12-8 range.

I like this choice. If they were going for another uptempo, I think it was the best one. I was hoping to see one of the more serious songs released ("Tip Jar" or "Don't Tell Mama I've Been Drinking"), but I'm happy with this one overall.

This is an absolutely outstanding tune...hard to go wrong with any single choice. That having been said, this one is one of my personal favorites.

When he played this live, I thought for sure it would be a single. Glad it happened.
BTW, he puts on a phenomenal performance.

Well I liked "Helluva Life" and "Sunshine & Whiskey", and I like this too. I haven't been crazy in love with any of the singles, but I they've been pleasant enough to enjoy on the radio.
I think this will be lucky to get into the Top 10 though. I'm predicting a peak in the high teens.

Hmm...I'm not feeling this one at all. I just listened to it for the first time and while it's certainly "radio-friendly", I just felt bored throughout the whole thing. Frankie sounded kinda sleepy to me.
It's not a terrible song by any means but I think it's far from excellent.

Frankie sounded kinda sleepy to me. It's not a terrible song by any means but I think it's far from excellent. That's pretty much how i feel about this. It's catchy enough and I do love Frankie's sound, but compared to the rest of his material it's just kind of there for me. If they wanted to stay uptempo the previously rumored, insanely catchy, I'm Thinking Country would've made a much better choice. It also would've made sense to slow the tempo down a bit and go with the excellent Don't You Wanna Fall. Kind of disappointing how safe they've played it after Helluva Life, and this release likely marks the final single off the album.

Frankie has the potential to be a lot grittier. CT40 just played Frankie's take on Run Run Rudolph, which has a heavy Southern rock feel to it.

Love this! It's such a good country song. I really like the lyrics too, they're very true! And luckily I've been hearing it quite a bit on the radio where I live. I loved "Helluva Life" and enjoyed "Sunshine & Whiskey" too. Listening to his album is on my music to-do list.

I've heard this a few times already on both The Highway and WYRK. I like much of the lyrics and the hook line is great, but the overall sound and melody just doesn't hold my interest. Not quite saying I find it boring, but it just seems a little too generic for me. I actually really enjoy Frankie's distinct vocals which is a major reasons I liked "Sunshine & Whiskey" but this one, while it certainly falls under the definition of "radio-friendly", is just not compelling enough for me to crank up my speakers.

Wish they would have went with "I'm thinking country" instead. I agree with a lot of you in just not feeling this song

Every time i hear this I can't help but think of Charlie Worsham's vastly superior "Young to See". Similar theme and sentiment, but Charlie's song comes from such a fresh perspective, whereas this sounds like something Kenny Chesney passed on. I like Frankie a lot and think he has a bright future, but I don't see this serving as anything but a placeholder for him.

I was driving in a "non-satellite radio car" this afternoon and I heard this song again on WYRK. It seems like I hear this every time I get a chance to listen to their station.
This is one of those songs that only takes a few listens and I feel like I've already heard it 100 times. That doesn't bode well for down the road. I got a feeling this will be station changer for me fairly soon.

Don't make me bring up the countless times you've posted the same news and/or chart happenings in different threads.

It's amazing to me that this song is doing as well as it is. I know he's following up 2 big hits, but his album hasn't sold much at all, even when it's compared to other new artists. And "Young & Crazy" isn't even top 100 on the country iTunes chart. There are so many singles that are easily out-pacing this one on iTunes, including "Lay Low", "One Hell Of An Amen", "Riot", "Hell Of A Night", "I'm To Blame", "Going Out Like That", "Fly", "Gonna Wanna Tonight", "Better Than You Left Me", "Biscuits", and "I Got The Boy" (and of course "Girl Crush" and "Like A Wrecking Ball", which are both top 5 on iTunes country).
It's not that I don't like Frankie, but I think this is an easy example of how radio will play a male artist "just because". This song isn't really connecting and his album isn't selling, so I just really wish that the airplay it is getting (it's up more than 2 million in the last 2 weeks) could go to songs like "Lay Low", "Fly", "Biscuits", "Better Than You Left Me", etc.
The same goes for Gloriana's "Trouble". That one is only in the 160's on the iTunes country chart. I'm not really sure what Warner Music Nashville is giving to radio in order to get airplay for these 2 songs, because their iTunes performances are absolutely dismal and there's virtually no hype around either release whatsoever.

Yeah, this one really doesn't seem to be connecting with listeners at all. I think most of the hype around Frankie Ballard lies among country radio staff. WAR did a great job of hyping up Frankie's comeback and getting him two #1 airplay singles, and Frankie just performed at the CRS New Faces Show with the likes of Cole Swindell, Sam Hunt, and Maddie & Tae, so he has some momentum with radio, where as Josh Turner is in almost totally the opposite situation, having missed the top 40 with his last single and taken a pretty long break from radio.
It's not too surprising for Frankie's first song that doesn't sell to get some grace on the charts due to good will from radio, but I'm sure this will end up missing #1 (possibly even top 10) and Frankie could be looking at a pretty big slump with his next album if he doesn't start putting out some more exciting music, so I'm not too vexed about this one just yet.

Yeah, I'm certainly not saying I don't know why radio treats Frankie so well - his comeback was well managed and his momentum couldn't be higher, especially on the heels of CRS. But at some point, a song that's having zero buzz and mediocre sales has to hit a wall on the airplay charts and IMO, it should have come already. There was definitely a feeling Frankie really impressed radio before the launch of "Helluva Life", and he's had his share of struggles at radio before with his first two singles (I loved "Tell Me You Get Lonely"), but I think it's perfectly fine to think "Young & Crazy" should be having a much more difficult time up the charts right now. The thinking here is that, a) his momentum is through the roof, b) he impressed at CRS and c) this song is so damn radio-friendly.
I'm really not surprised by "Young & Crazy's" fast climb and "Lay Low's" struggles, and the fact I love Josh's song makes me more sour I admit, but it's just so frustrating that an album that hasn't sold that well is now producing another fast rising single even though it's individual sales numbers are low, while Josh's should be near the top 10 by now. This isn't even the worst case of airplay vs. sales - Gloriana's "Trouble" isn't even in the top 1,000 of the all-genre chart, yet their song is top 30 and has been out quite a while now. Warner seems like they can do no wrong right now.

Warner seems like they can do no wrong right now. He also easily passed Brantley Gilbert, who had one of the top selling albums last year and had a current single that is selling tons better than this single. That one I cannot figure out. I agree with you though: a wall is coming at some point, and if I had to guess, I think it will happen somewhere in the teens. This is such an easy going song that I'm sure it won't receive many complaints, but at the end of the day there has to be SOME passion for it. "Sunshine & Whiskey" was a pretty big hit, but that one was selling well pretty much throughout it's campaign. This one is just not moving anything sales-wise.

What's really strange is that WAR has two acts who seem to have a ton of fan support and potential, Jana Kramer and Dan + Shay, yet the label so far has hardly been able to get them anywhere on the charts. Frankie Ballard and Gloriana just don't seem to have much longevity yet there seems to be a considerable degree of radio support for the two, while WAR's popular artists are going nowhere.

I'm impressed by just how this song continues to move along nicely there's no real threats right now because ZBB are gonna take awhile to catch Frankie while Luke's will probably pass him there's no real competition. So this could turn into a nice hit the digital sales aren't exactly horrid either. I do like the song cause Frankie brings a lot of energy and charisma and for that I'm thankful.
