Bullet In A Gun is stellar. Digital is BLEAK.

I hate this album so much. I thought it was pretty average for the first six tracks (through West Coast) but from there on it was one of the worst collection of songs I've ever heard, maybe with the exception of Bullet in a Gun. My least favourite album they've released.

My opinion about Digital is that is could be WAY BETTER than its final product. The chorus is one of the most infectious of the album and I can imagine it working a lot (even being one of the best tracks of the album). However the sound and production ruins the good parts sadly. That song was born dated My ranking of the album: 1. Bad Liar 2. West Coast 3. Natural 4. Birds 5. Zero 6. Only 7. Real Life 8. Boomerang 9. Machine 10. Love 11. Cool Out 12. Bullet In a Gun 13. Burn Out 14. Stuck 15. Digital

The album has grown on me immensely. I wasn't completely amazed but by a couple of songs, as most everyone has mentioned here, but I am sold on this project now.
Also, it's holding steady in the Top 10 on iTunes, so hopefully it has some legs.

I'm absolutely loving the album! Digital has such a great chorus but overall the song is a bit too much. Still enjoying it tho.
Love Bullet In A Gun, Cool Out, Only, Natural and West Coast the most :)

Cool Out has grown to be such a standout for me. Should be a single.

The album grew on me. I loved evolve so much it’s hard to top, but if this came first, I’d still think it was a good album.

Listened through again and I still hate this thing. I must say that Bad Liar just gets better with every listen though.

I heard this the weekend of release and was REALLY underwhelmed. To be fair, I was listening to it on the background while doing some chores. Last Sunday I saw them live at the Corona Capital festival in Mexico City and a couple of days before I gave the album another chance. Don't know if it was the high of seeing them live for a second time, or what else, but the album started to grow on me. Night Visions and Evolve are still better, but I think is at the same level as Smoke & Mirrors for me.
There are no real smashes on the album as Radioactive, Demons, Believe or Thunder, especially after Natural underperforming, but I think a lot of songs could be mid-sized hits with the proper push. The only meh song in this for me is Digital, and even it is starting to grow on me. Bad Liar is amazing, and I hope is a single down the road, same with Cool Out, West Coast or Only.

This is such a good album to me. I feel a certain type of way when listening to every song, and the album title really helps define that feeling to me.

Lol. They performed the halftime show of the Nationals college football championship with Lil Wayne. Remix for the show

So is Machine the official next single? I see it’s getting spins on pop radio. Surprised they didn’t go with Bad Liar, but Machine is really catchy.

Wait, I thought Bad Liar was confirmed as the next single at least on Alt. Why they're going to try Machine on Pop when Bad Liar is the most obvious choice?

"Bad Liar" is the next Top 40/M, Alternative and Triple A radio single and there are already impact dates (2/5 for Pop, 1/29 for Alternative and 1/28 for AAA) in those formats. I assume it's going to be pushed at Hot AC too, although an adds date hasn't been announced yet.

He's such a passionate and caring guy. You have a lot of respect for him no matter what you think of his music.
Speaking of which, I was actually just wondering yesterday what they were up to and when they were going to release something again.

Origins was a bit of a mess, commercially, considering how Evolve did. I really liked what I heard from it, but it felt like too much too soon and the numbers dropped accordingly.
I'll check out whatever they drop next tho.

Wow. It's sad that a really good band is getting zero attention here., but it is what it is. I feel like Coldplay, One Republic, and Imagine Dragons get no love on Pulse. This is overall a strong album and I'm glad I bought it. I have all their albums and I generally know what I am getting myself into. I don't know if I EVER saw It's OK coming from them though. What a mess. I vibe with the chanting part and the guitar and 60s shuffle at the end, but everything else...They definitely released the best songs from the album. I say release No Time For Toxic People and Lonely and maybe My Life to close and that's it.
Follow You (takin on takin on...JAMMMMMM. The build-up to the chorus is so perfect. And the Muppet be-bop-ba-doo-bops are so catchy! This is creeping on to be my favorite song of theirs. That melody is soooo sticky!) Cuthrroat (sorry, haters. This extreme scream-o version of Dan is MUCH more effective and the production. RICK. FUCKING. RUBIN. Put some respeck on his name. It's no surprise they release these two as the first two, even if Cutthroat was polarizing. It came up on my Peloton ride recently and it was PERFECT. The energy is unreal. It gives me Kanye vibes.) No Time For Toxic People (this is kinda corny, but I don't hate it! oh, wait..once the title appears in the song, it gets better. yeah, they should license the fuck out of this.) Giants (ok, between Dan's soft delivery (is that even him??) but the DRAMA, dahling! This is like old school ID but updated. I would probably die if I saw this live.) Monday (shook) My Life Lonely (sounds like an obvious single, but there are stronger songs on this album, for sure. that falsetto bit in the background is such an earworm. These guys have a great way with melody and cadence. wtf was that ending, though?) #1 Easy Come Easy Go (for some reason, when it got super personal, I got taken out of the song, but it's still beautiful. I like Dan's delivery here.) Wrecked
If they kept this a 10-track album, it might have rivaled their best, but alas...these songs should have been Walmart exclusives.e One Day (tweedahdah. what in the Jason Mraz karaoke?? whew. catchy though!) Dull Knives (this is almost as bad as It's OK. Like...why was this even an option?? Dan may be a shrieker but at least he shrieks in key...until now. A MESS.) It's OK (leggo, Barney Bop! WTF is this?! I almost liked the breakdown, but I can't with this 60's Pepsi commercial jingle)

I just find it very strange how “Wrecked” hasn’t gotten pushed to HAC or even Pop, Their label should have pushed that song to those formats as I believe that it would have performed similar to how “Follow You” performed on those formats. Why their label hasn’t already pushed “Wrecked” to these formats is beyond me.

It's not a Pulse thing. They have completely dropped out of the Pop Culture zeitgeist.

It's not a Pulse thing. They have completely dropped out of the Pop Culture zeitgeist. They really have. I forgot they even had an album coming out and this is with me enjoying Follow You earlier this year.
