Lana's been going in for these bridges this album. She's there weaving a beautiful song through the verses and chorus, and then takes it to a level I didn't even know existed with the bridge.

I mean it's not all that unexpected coming from the woman who gave us one of the best bridges in the history of pop music (the spiritual awakening that is Ride's bridge).

Halfway through. Man...she is slayyyyying me w the subtle jazz influences throughout. So far Terrence and Art Deco are stand outs. Most of you are 100 correct in the fact that although not a grand departure from past work, this album is in a different category.

Purchased during my lunch break. I listened to clips on ITUNES at midnight. How...sumptuous.

Loving the reviews I'm seeing from critics.
it's definitely closer to BTD/Paradise, but isn't really all that similar to be honest.
Some gorgeous stuff here - Freak. Art Deco, Salavtore - and the rest.

I can't get into Salvatore and God Knows I Tried, but am loving everything else. Hope she opens with good numbers. I wish Prisoner was a single, she would benefit so much from it..

I like "Honeymoon," "God Knows I Tried," and "Freak" best. Overall, this is a much more engaging album than Ultraviolence, but Born To Die is still her best. Looking forward to giving this a second listen. :)

I'm surprised "Freak" and "Art Deco" seem to be getting the most love; those are actually my least favorites. The middle of the album kind of bores me but I'm really liking everything else.

Listening to this drunk in a Dunkin Donuts and I am LIVING. "Salvatore" takes me back to my summer on the Italian riviera and I SWEAR "Art Deco" is MY LIFE IN A SONG. YAS mom. YAS.

'Freak' has a great hook in the chorus, but the whole thing is kind of a bore.[2]
'God Knows I Tried', 'Art Deco', and especially 'Swan Song' are phenomenal. The album starts off kind of a mess but she pulls it together towards the middle; and the detail on a lot of these songs is just beyond. There's a lot of really excellent writing here too, but then there's 'Salvatore' which I just flat out cannot stand. I get the humor in the "ice cream" line, but it's kind of flat and that last pre-chorus where everything kind of dips out was better than the actual chorus. That, the title track (ZzzZzzzZ) and her attempt at 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood' are the only duds, though. This is incredibly strong and so, so much better than Ultraviolence.

I Love this album but UV is still my fave from her I feel the same... Reading the reviews made me think this would be PHENOMENAL which isn't the case but maybe critics are finally accepting her as an artist and thus give her "extra" credit

I wanted a #1 for her but that's still very good and shows you how strong her fan base is. Meanwhile, I had this CD on a loop this past weekend. God Knows I Tried and Freak have emerged as my clear cut favorites, along with HBTB, of course, but the whole album is killer, really. I mean, that Freak ending gives me goosebumps.

I'm not really hearing dubstep in Art Deco like I did in Inside Out. I hear more subtle trap influences (like in quite a few other songs on this album) though. TRAP QUEEN.

Lana Del Rey talks new album and coming back to Australia picosong.com/J772/Key Infos: - Music To Watch Boys To video is coming this week - She had the underwater scenes since 2014. - She has a imagery from Honeymoon, unlike UV that's why she didn't have as much videos. (I think Honeymoon will get a lot of videos ) - She tried to work with Mark Ronson but his schedule didn't allowed because Uptown Funk was so big at the time and he didn't have free time. - Talks about loving doing Soundtracks. - Talks about renting the bus to shoot some images and the album cover. - Talks about how she would like to have more people touring with her, like Whitney's early live shows, with lots o background singers and etc. - Talks vaguely about a new tour.

So I live in LA and this album is perfect for when you're drifting through the city's congested traffic, with all the city-specific imagery and whatnot.

24 is totally the Bond song we would've gotten from her if they asked her to do it.

Flawless live versions of HBTB, Terrence and Honeymoon. I have already replaced the last 2 with these live versions cause they're even better than the studio ones; from vocals to instrumentation. During the interview she mentioned that she has already started writing new songs a couple of months ago and she even slightly shades 'other artists' towards the end right before the Honeymoon performance. Enjoy!

The Blackest Day is far and away the song of the album for me. So much brilliance to dissect there. Those verses, that pre-chorus, that post-chorus, that post-post chorus, that bridge, that alternate post-chourus... to quote Lana on the song, "oh my god!" It's like each aspect of the song structure is its own sovereign slice of perfection all unto itself. But then they somehow all manage to unite for something truly epic. Her vocals and lyrics convey the tone so effortlessly. A career high point for sure. Those 6 minutes just fly by every time.
