Before I post my first chart of 2019, I'm just gonna be lazy this year and use my Crownnote data to determine what my top songs were for the year instead of trying to come up with a list that combines that + my own subjective tastes and putting any more effort into than I have to, lol. The first #1 hit of the new year goes to Stephanie Quayle with "Selfish," her first time at the top of the charts (following two other top 5 hits in "Drinking with Dolly" and "Winnebago"). Maddie & Tae and Jana Kramer finally start 2019 off by sliding into the top 10 with "Friends Don't" and "Dammit," respectively. Nothing new quite makes the top 20, but Halsey picks up her first top 30 hit with "Without Me" and Danielle Bradbery (with Thomas Rhett along for the ride) claims her third top 30 from her current album. Sara Evans continues her quick movement with "Long Way Down" landing in the top 40 in its fifth week on, while Mike Ryan scores his first top 40 hit as well. Movement in the lower region is stifled due to only one recurrent, but Lady Gaga still manages to fly into the top 50 with "Shallow" and Gretchen Wilson edges her way into the top 60 with "Stacy." Ariana Grande, who is currently in the top 5 with "God Is a Woman," scrapes the bottom of the chart with "thank u, next" for the week's only new entry. Ariana Grande claims her second #1 hit on my chart and first since "Side to Side" with "God Is a Woman" this week. Carrie Underwood climbs into the top 3, Russell Dickerson gets his first top 5 hit, and RaeLynn moves into the top 10 with "Tailgate." Female country jams from Abby Anderson, Jessica Meuse, and Runaway June all make nice moves into the top 20 this week, while Tim McGraw's "Neon Church" clears the top 30. Lauren Alaina and Pistol Annies blast past Michael Ray to reach the top 40 with their latest singles. Fast-moving singles from Nicki Minaj and Florida Georgia Line fly into the top 50 alongside slower-moving tunes from Lindsay Ell and Shania Twain, and Jason Aldean, Miley Cyrus, and Cardi B all continue quick starts as they reach the top 60. New entries scraping the bottom of the chart include the latest singles from Avril Lavigne, Farewell Angelina, and Old Dominion. Luke Combs scores his fourth #1 hit on my chart with "She Got the Best of Me," continuing his hot streak. Maddie & Tae and RaeLynn both dive into the top 5 with their latest singles, while Scotty McCreery and Devin Dawson pick up top 10 hits. Halsey plunges into the top 20 for the first time with "Without Me" and Kane Brown sneaks in as well with "Lose It," his third single to get that far. Lauren Duski and Machine Gun Kelly both hit the top 30 this week, while Terri Clark and Nicki Minaj add additional top 40 hits to their resumes. Several songs jump into the top 50, including the latest from Jason Aldean, Dustin Lynch, Gretchen Wilson, and Miley Cyrus. Maren Morris scores the best debut of the week with new lead "Girl" coming in at number 65. She is joined at the bottom of the chart by new entries from Maddie & Tae ("Die from a Broken Heart") and Ashley McBryde ("Girl Goin' Nowhere"), both of which currently have other songs charting higher up on the chart ("Friends Don't" and "Radioland"). Avril Lavigne scores her first #1 hit on my chart with "Head Above Water" taking the top spot this week. Maddie & Tae takes "Friends Don't" into the runner-up position, while Carrie Underwood continues a slow descent for "Love Wins." Clare Dunn enters the top 5, Ashley McBryde makes the top 10, and Sara Evans makes quick work moving into the top 20 with "Long Way Down" and brings Charlie Puth's "The Way I Am" along with her. A trio of country tunes from Lauren Alaina, Pistol Annies, and Mike Ryan plunge into the top 30 this week, with Ashley Monroe and Lindsay Ell sneaking into the top 40. With an eight-spot jump into the 50s, Maren Morris' "Girl" gets Greatest Gainer honors in her second week on the chart with her new debut single. It's also a good week for Camila Cabello and Cardi B who hit the top 50 with their latest singles. New to the chart this week are new entries from Ariana Grande ("7 Rings"), and first-time appearances by Ava Max and Natalie Rose. RaeLynn drops her "Tailgate" at the #1 position this week, making it her fourth visit to the pole position to date. Scotty McCreery and Ashley McBryde follow in the footsteps of their lead singles by claiming top 5s with the second singles from their current records, while Jessica Meuse breaks into the top 10 for the first time with debut hit "Thank God It Didn't Work." Danielle Bradbery collects her third top 20 hit on my chart from her sophomore album as "Goodbye Summer" narrowly edges out Kelsea Ballerini for the one open spot this week. Kenna Danielle slides into the top 30, a trio of songs from Mark Ronson/Miley Cyrus, Shania Twain, and Dan + Shay all advance to the top 40, and the likes of Luke Bryan, Ariana Grande, and Rascal Flatts stake out new top 50 hits to their names. New entries are led by Kacey Musgraves' new single "Rainbow," boosted by its Grammy performance and music video release, and followed by an inaugural appearance by Lizzo with "Juice" and a new offering from RaeLynn in "Rowdy" (giving her bookend chart credits as she holds the #1 and the #75 simultaneously). RaeLynn holds onto the top spot with "Tailgate" for a second frame, making it her fourth multi-week #1 hit. Budding male country stars Scotty McCreery and Devin Dawson dive into the top 3 with "This Is It" and "Asking for a Friend," respectively, while Halsey scores her first top 10 with "Without Me." Kelsea Ballerini and Rachel Wammack both advance to the top 20, a trio of country tunes from Ashley Monroe, Florida Georgia Line, and Terri Clark enter the top 30, and Camila Cabello picks up another top 40 with "Consequences." Kacey Musgraves notches another top 50 with "Happy & Sad" and Lee Ann Womack picks up a top 60 hit with the title track from her latest album. It's slow moving on the lower region of the chart with only one recurrent, but Avril Lavigne gets the one and only debut of the week with new single "Dumb Blonde," which drops in the wake of her album release. She is still on the chart with former #1 hit "Head Above Water" and the top 60-and-climbing "Tell Me It's Over." "David Ashley Parker From Powder Springs" came so close!
Great to see "Long Way Down" and "Miss Me More" continue their quick (in your chart's standard) ascent!

Scotty McCreery gets his first #1 hit on my chart with "This Is It" taking the crown this week. Abby Anderson and Jessica Meuse dive into the top 5 with their debut singles, while the trio of Brett Young, Runaway June, and Sara Evans all jump into the top 10 with their latest singles. In its twentieth week on, Lauren Alaina's "Ladies in the 90s" lands in the top 20, while the Mark Ronson/Miley Cyrus collab "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" slides into the top 30 in its eleventh chart week. Maren Morris, Cardi B, and Dustin Lynch pick up additional top 40 hits this week as well. With 8-point climbs, Avril Lavigne's "Tell Me It's Over" and Luke Combs' "Beautiful Crazy" share the Greatest Gainer title this frame, as they make the top 50 and top 60, respectively. New entries come in the form of the latest single releases from Reba McEntire ("Stronger Than the Truth") and Jennifer Nettles ("I Can Do Hard Things"). Devin Dawson collects his first #1 hit with "Asking for a Friend" this week. Halsey and Brett Young climb into the top 5 with their latest singles, while Charlie Puth finally cracks the top 10 for the first time with "The Way I Am." A mix of pop, rap, and country crashes the top 20 as songs from Lady Gaga, Pistol Annies, Nicki Minaj, and Mike Ryan all see strong advances thanks to a lot of falling songs ahead of them. Jake Owen and Lindsay Ell both land in the top 30, while Kacey Musgraves and Jason Aldean pick up additional top 40 placements. Luke Combs cracks the top 50 with "Beautiful Crazy" in his fifth chart week, with Kelly Rowland and Carly Pearce reaching the threshold as well. The debuts this week include the new country single from George Strait ("Every Little Honkytonk Bar") and the first-time chart appearances of Tenille Townes ("Somebody's Daughter") and Gone West ("Gone West"). The first-time #1s keep coming as Abby Anderson takes her turn topping the chart with "Make Him Wait," a beautiful feminist anthem sadly (and unsurprisingly) ignored by country radio. Runaway June slides into the top 5 with "Buy My Own Drinks," while a pair of country tunes from Kassi Ashton and Tim McGraw crash the top 10. Ashley Monroe adds another top 20 hit to her repertoire as "Keys to the Kingdom" bumps up a couple spots, with a bunch of strong movements in the the top 30 behind her, including Maren Morris, Dan + Shay, Shania Twain, and Michael Ray all cracking the threshold with their latest offerings. Pop tunes from Avril Lavigne ("Tell Me It's Over") and Ariana Grande ("thank u, next") slide into the top 40, K. Michelle and Brad Paisley advance to the top 50, and Iggy Azalea scores a splashy debut with her new bop "Sally Walker," propelled in part by a fantastic music video. American Idol alum Jessica Meuse takes her debut country single "Thank God It Didn't Work" to the pinnacle of my chart this week. Sara Evans reaches the top 5 with "Long Way Down," Kelsea Ballerini notches another top 10 with "Miss Me More," and a plethora of tunes break into the top 20 that includes "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart," "Talk You Out of It," and "Down to the Honkytonk." Dustin Lynch scores a top 30 with "Good Girl" and country jams from both Luke's (Combs and Bryan), Gretchen Wilson, and Morgan Wallen all crack the top 40. Iggy Azalea doesn't slow down in her second week on with "Sally Walker" as she carries Greatest Gainer honors with a climb into the top 50. Sara Evans' new cover of "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac off her upcoming EP lands the best debut of the week, while she is joined by new charting efforts from Mariah Carey, Pistol Annies, and Josh Turner. Halsey slides into the #1 spot with "Without Me," her first to reach the pinnacle. This marks the second non-country chart-topper of 2019 so far (the first being Ariana Grande's "God Is a Woman"). Kassi Ashton sews up her first top 5 hit with "Taxidermy," while Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper's "Shallow" and Lauren Alaina's "Ladies in the 90s" reach the top 10. Terri Clark and Maren Morris crack the top 20 with their latest lead singles, Kacey Musgraves, Cardi B, and Avril Lavigne all get another top 30 hit under their belts, and Paulina Rubio finally cracks the top 40 for the second time with "Suave y Sutil." Movement slows in the lower region of the chart due to less recurrents this week, but one new song does make it on in the form of Backstreet Boys alum AJ McLean's new country single, "Boy and a Man." Brett Young picks up his fourth #1 hit with "Here Tonight" sliding into the top spot this week, dethroning Halsey. Ashley Monroe moves into the top 10 with "Keys to the Kingdom," while Lindsay Ell ("Champagne") and Dan + Shay ("Speechless") reach the top 20. Both Luke Combs and Ariana Grande vault into the top 30 with "Beautiful Crazy" and "thank u, next" respectively. Iggy Azalea makes quick work of entering the top 40 in her fourth week on with "Sally Walker," and fellow urban queens Kelly Rowland and K. Michelle join her in reaching the threshold. Several lower songs see nice moves this week as more recurrents come, including a 7-spot jump for Sara Evans with "Dreams," 6-spot jumps for Maddie & Tae's "Die from a Broken Heart" and Jennifer Nettles' "I Can Do Hard Things," and nice moves for Ciara, Ashley McBryde, and Reba McEntire. Three new songs crack the chart this week, including another Reba McEntire song ("Freedom"), Chris Lane's "I Don't Know About You," and another offering from Ariana Grande's latest LP.
