Loving your chart this week too (I seriously need to keep up with all of these!) and definitely seeing some songs I need to check out! Hope Carrie can make it to the top next week! She'll have to wait for either Bobby Green or Neon Trees to slip. So...I'm not sure about this coming week, but if either of them falls, then the week after she might be looking good for it. :)

Smash Milk Inc. and Paul van Dyk! And great to see "Doing It". Paul van Dyk might be peaking, despite the jump this week. Milk Inc. are moving into the toughest part of the chart right now, but they should be able to hold their own for a while. I can definitely see Top 10 in their future. :)

No more musical seniors entering the survey this week. :) Instead, we have two big ballads breaking into the Top 40. Sean: An unwelcome surprise for Carrie? :o See below... ♛ The Manticore ☯: Charli up four. Flip: So are Giorgio/Kylie. Zeebz: And ZBB. @drag27: And "Style". surfy: Angie Miller up two. Mike's Top 40 For the Week Ending: February 14, 2015 DROPPERS:Laura Doggett - Moonshine (from 35) One Direction - Night Changes (from 33) Yes, this week sees a surprise jump to #1! Three weeks ago, Carrie Underwood made a big move into the Top 5, leapfrogging Blonde featuring Melissa Steel in the process. It was looking like Blonde might be shut out of the top spot altogether...but this week, they get revenge! They surprise everyone in front of them, jumping back over Carrie and all the way to the summit, also denying Bobby Green a chance to return there himself. As Bobby's now also lost his bullet, he's now unlikely to ever return to the top. What of Carrie's status, now? I don't see her falling out of the running for a while, yet, but this is obviously a setback for her. She'll have to make a renewed push for that top spot, instead of being able to cruise in there as she might otherwise have been able to do given the past couple of weeks. And speaking of pushes..."FourFiveSeconds" makes another big push this week, once again as the week's Biggest Mover, up 11. That's the first song to jump double-digits on more than one occasion since I first expanded to a Top 40 back in the fall of 2013. Despite these quantum leaps, it will not be such smooth sailing for this song from here on out, not now that it finds itself in such competitive territory. Cyril Hahn and Rochelle Jordan have been making their case for a Top 10 placement, and this week they get it, advancing to #10. We'll see how long they go before running out of steam. As I mentioned above, two big ballads break into the Top 40 this week. "Orleans" is a rather haunting number, made to give you the chills whenever you hear it. "Volcano" is more directly emotional, but is no less powerful than its debuting counterpart. Interesting though that they replace two other ballads in the survey, no? And "Out of the Woods" quickly races toward the door this week. I might, actually, decide to give this a second run later on if Taylor decides to release this as a (radio) single later on, but for the time being, I'm ready to be over it for a little while. And...that should do it for this week's chart talk. NEW PICKS OF THE WEEK:Katy Tiz - Whistle (While You Work It)Tony Lucca - Delilah (When the Lights Go Out)Tom Ferry & Duane Harden featuring Joe Killington - Better With YouBØRNS - Electric LoveThe Script - Man on a WireUntil next week... :) -Mike

surfy: Angie Miller reaches Top 10 territory. Sean: ...while Reba's knocking on the Top 10's door. ♛ The Manticore ☯: Charli's the week's Biggest Mover. @drag27: Giorgio/Kylie up three. Zeebz: ZBB up four. Flip: Ellie up two. Mike's Top 40 For the Week Ending: February 21, 2015 DROPPERS:Breach featuring Kelis - The Key (from 40) Taylor Swift - Out of the Woods (from 39) Mary J. Blige & Disclosure - Follow (from 31) NEW PICKS OF THE WEEK:Suspended...temporarily. I might post them in a day or two - otherwise, expect next week's to be super-sized. :o So, a week after Blonde fly right past Carrie Underwood to snag the #1 spot, this week they make a U-turn and find themselves right back where they started. Carrie, on the other hand? She nabs the chart crown for herself this week. Yes, by the end of this week I found myself souring on "relationship" songs for a bit, which explains Blonde being kicked out of #1, and Neon Trees moving back up a notch to #3 despite still being bulletless. Yeah, I know that a husband-wife argument is the centerpiece of Carrie's song, but it had the right kind of mood for me to put it on top this week. The lower half of the Top 10 looks fairly static, mostly due to the shenanigans of the Top 5, but next week will probably see more changes to the Top 10, aside from maybe the Top 2 - I don't expect Carrie or Smallpools to go anywhere for a while. The 20s are absolutely brutal right now - to get any traction, one has to muscle their way forward. Just ask Charli XCX, the week's Biggest Mover. Or on the flipside, just ask Shaggy or Chris Malinchak, who each were only able to move up one this week. Yes, "Give You What You Like" enters the survey this week. And there's an interesting story with that one. I originally played it from time to time last year after "Let Me Go" had run its course, but wasn't really interested in it enough to put it in the Top 40. Then things got screwy over the summer, and...that was the end of that. Strangely, the recent announcement of its new release has sparked a new interest in the song once again, so...for now, I've decided to give it a run after all. We'll see how this plays out. BTW, for those of you keeping score, this marks her 18th song to reach my chart. And...that should do it for this week's chart talk. Until next week... :) -Mike

Yay at Charli XCX being the biggest mover. Milk Inc. doing well and so happy to see Chicane debuting. I was a fan of Chicane's work back then in the 90's to the early 2000's. Songs like "Saltwater", "Don't Give Up" and "Offshore" are classics."Orleans" reminds me of his old work.

Sean: Reba hits the Top 10, of course. :) Up three. Zeebz: Now Taylor and Ellie are knocking on the Top 10 door. ♛ The Manticore ☯: Chicane up three. Flip: Avril up four. @drag27: So are Giorgio/Kylie. surfy: Ed up three. Mikey I'm not sure what to tag you for. All of your recent favorites (that I know of) are falling...? :( Mike's Top 40 For the Week Ending: February 28, 2015 DROPPERS:Steve Grand - Time (from 39) Philip George - Wish You Were Mine (from 36) Paul van Dyk, Jessus, & Adham Ashraf featuring Tricia McTeague - Only in a Dream (from 35) Chris Lago - Royals (from 34) As you can see...chaos in the Top 10! The Top 2 remain stable, the only two in the entire Top 40 to do so this week. Meanwhile, Ed, Years & Years, and Cyril Hahn all move up as the ex-#1s all move down...but with Cyril leaping over the other two, and Carrie and Smallpools unlikely to start descending anytime soon, chances are Ed and Y&Y are both peaking this week. Then, there's Angie, Reba, Ellie, Taylor, and Rihanna - tough, tough times ahead! Speaking of Cyril, he ties LeToya Luckett for the week's Biggest Move, up six notches, though Cyril's leap from 9 to 3 is easily the more impressive. It's not a guarantee of hitting the top eventually, though...in 2010, Drake's "Find Your Love" made that exact leap, only to eventually stall out at #2. The four debuts this week all fall into a AAA/Hot AC sort of vibe, but really this comes from all four being ready to debut at the same time. Much of the rest of the chart speaks for itself this week, as fiercely competitive teens and 20s abound. And...that should do it for this week's chart talk. NEW PICKS OF THE WEEK:Ariana Grande - One Last TimeKwabs - Perfect RuinIngrid Michaelson - Time MachineHigh Valley - Make You MineDie Mannequin - I'm Just a GirlJacquie Lee - Tears FallUntil next week... :) -Mike

On a different note, I'd recommend checking out Jessie Ware's new single "Champagne Kisses". :) Admittedly wasn't too thrilled with that one, but there is another track that might be appearing soon :)...just as soon as I can start cutting out some of the 30-some songs that all seem to want to vie for a spot on the chart rn.

Last week, we had four debuts, from acts that...not many of you are likely familiar with. This week, we have three debuts...who, might seem a little more familiar (though none have had extensive histories around these parts). :) Albie: You will definitely recognize the first. ;) @drag27, Flip: Ellie reaches Top 10 territory. Zeebz: So does Taylor. surfy: And now "FourFiveSeconds" is knocking. Sean: Reba up four (half the distance to the crown!). ♛ The Manticore ☯: Chicane up five. Mike's Top 40 For the Week Ending: March 7, 2015 DROPPERS:Jessie Ware - You and I (Forever) (from 32) Ex Cops - Black Soap (from 31) Don Diablo featuring Roses Gabor - Generations (from 30) NEW PICKS OF THE WEEK:Hozier - Work SongFlorence and the Machine - What Kind of Man (#38) Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like YouWade Bowen - When I Woke Up TodayKacey Musgraves - Biscuits (Go to the small player right below the large scrolling pictures. Skip forward to the third track.) Monifah - One MomentMoko - With YouLady Antebellum - Long Stretch of LovePrince Royce - My AngelYeah, a little bit late on picking up FATM...when I first heard the song, I wasn't totally sure about it. I'd meant to come back to it later on, but, as you can tell by the past few weeks, there's been a mad rush of new songs coming out of the woodwork, which pushed their song back. Until now, that is. :) This week, it shoots right in at #38. Carrie, barely, manages to hold off Smallpools for a third week at the summit - but this will almost certainly be her last. One can't really complain about a solid three weeks on top, though. :) Reba McEntire's own push for the crown could spell trouble for Cyril Hahn despite his own fierce jump last week, with Smallpools proving to be a brick wall. Then, below them, are Ellie and Taylor who each have designs on that top spot, and that's just covering contenders in the Top 10. Trijnjte Oosterhuis has had a good, steady climb up until now, but it's looking like she might have peaked last week at #16. The 20s are certainly not a nice place to be right now; every song except for #20 is bulleted, and right now it is quite difficult for any one song to stand out from the pack. One who might have something to say about that, however, is this week's Biggest Mover, Fancy Reagan. They leap six to #32, placing them at the bottom of that 12-song block, but "Knock Me Out" is quite catchy, and keeps popping back into my head. That's a sign that could lead to a faster rise. And...that should do it for this week's chart talk. Until next week... :) -Mike

Wow I get a shout out from Libra! Truly honored sir. Yay for "King" of course! I hope it enjoys a successful run.
Also happy to see "One Last Time" and "What kind of Man" debut. I dont know how I've been skipping over it but glad to see Empire of the Sun on here! "Right Here Right Now" and "Love Me Like You Do" move up!
Sad to see "First Things First" dropping and also "I Loved You" but its dropping for me too - had a great run!
Smallpools holding on! #1 please. :)
I'm now rooting for Monifah and Hozier to debut. Awesome chart Mike!

Carrie's no. 1 run is impressive. Hopefully "Karaoke", "Going Out Like That", "Style", "FourFiveSeconds", and "Severing Ties" can keep rising, just to name a few. Love your debuts also. :)

@drag27: See my notes below RE: Ellie. ♛ The Manticore ☯: Chicane up two. Albie: FATM up five. Zeebz: Young Summer up three. Flip: Slow second week for Y&Y + Ariana. Sean: Reba up one more. Mike's Top 40 For the Week Ending: March 14, 2015 DROPPERS:Rico Love - Somebody Else (from 34) Empire of the Sun - Wandering Star (from 33) Well, after three weeks on top, this week Carrie takes...three steps backward. Moving into the top spot is the song that's served as the bridesmaid for those three weeks - "Karaoke". Ordinarily, this would be a song strong enough to get several weeks on top, but with Cyril Hahn, Reba McEntire, and further below, Taylor Swift and Ellie Goulding all closing in - it's doubtful that it'll be able to manage a multi-week run up there. Speaking of which...Taylor turns the tables on Ellie once again, but don't fear, Ellie fans - this is likely to be more of a temporary setback rather than a sign of big trouble for her. All signs still point to "Love Me Like You Do" securing her her first #1 song on my chart - it just may take a little longer for that to happen. Also notice that I didn't include Angie Miller in that list. She holds at #5 this week, and is very likely peaking. The two Biggest Movers this week are a pair of back-to-back 7-notch jumpers, though that will likely only mean so much when there's not much falling ahead of them, nor much ready to fall for a few weeks. Yes, expect a logjam to be taking shape soon... Also slow at the moment: The bottom reaches of the chart. That won't last long though, with quite a few songs in the middle of the chart on their way down. Ex Cops also re-enter the survey this week, since I'm not quite ready to give up on "Black Soap" just yet. And...that should do it for this week's chart talk. NEW PICKS OF THE WEEK:Kygo featuring Conrad - FirestoneElla Henderson - Mirror ManJessie Ware - CruelWalk the Moon - Aquaman (Waited on this till "Different Colors" finally died down. With that as the week's Biggest Dropper... ;)) The Maine - English GirlsSteve Grand - Whiskey CrimeJason DeRulo - Want to Want MeThe Vespers - Signs (also currently free on U.S. iTunes...through Monday at least) Natalie Imbruglia - Instant CrushUntil next week... :) -Mike

Do my eyes deceive me or is "Karaoke" #1?? Yay! Smallpools So, I just discovered "Miles" by Angie Miller, thanks to you! She was my favorite back in her season of AI but I totally forgot to check for her once it was over. So, thank you! I hope "Love Me Like You Do" & "King" pick up the pace a bit. Glad to see "Right Here, Right Now" and "First Things First" still plugging along. Yay for "What Kind of Man"! Also, I'm glad to see "Black Soap" return. My hope is that "Firestone", "Aquaman" and "Want To Want Me" may debut.

A bit late this week, but there's plenty of chart chaos in the bottom half to make up for it. ♛ The Manticore ☯: Chicane up one. Flip: So is Ariana. Albie: While Y&Y do pick up the pace a bit. :) Zeebz: Young Summer is this week's Biggest Mover. Sean: Reba holds steady. @drag27: So does Ellie (see also below). Daryl the Beryl: Taylor up two. Mike's Top 40 For the Week Ending: March 21, 2015 DROPPERS:Train - Bulletproof Picasso (from 40) Walk the Moon - Different Colors (from 32) Smallpools barely manage to stave off Cyril & Rochelle this week. Between them, Reba, and now Taylor, is there hope of a third week on top? We'll see. Speaking of thirds...five different songs are all spending their third week at their current peak positions this week: "Careless", "Infinite Cities", "Give You What You Like", "Love Me Like You Do", and "Miles". This looks to be the end of the road for all but one of these due to the multiple bullet losses for them. Also note the one that didn't lose its bullet. ;) On the subject of Avril - this very well looks to be her lowest-charting single ever on my chart. :o She leads all artists with 18 charted songs, and this will be her first to miss the Top 10 completely (not even coming close). File this one under: "How the mighty have fallen..." :'( Get a load of that bottom half, though: All those falling or bulletless songs... Don't be surprised if a very familiar gif kicks off next week's chart posting. :) Meanwhile, the top half remains fiercely competitive, with not much movement at all past #18. It'll probably take a few weeks for some of the higher songs to start descending. And...that should do it for this week's chart talk. NEW PICKS OF THE WEEK:New World Punx featuring Cara Salimando - Memories (Short version; there's a 5-minute version out that I don't particularly care for.) Tiesto & KSHMR featuring Vassy - SecretsTwenty One Pilots - Fairly LocalMadonna - GhosttownUntil next week... :) -Mike

I'm happy to see the Kacey debut. :) I'm debating whether to chart the Jason song. The song itself is really good but his vocals are really off putting and the only time they really worked for me was during In My Head.
