I'd love her version to become more popular. It's been done by so so many people though. No disrespect to Guy Lombardo..I love his version. It was the first popular recorded version and each year he performed it on NYE. His is still the version played as the ball drops. Mariah's is a nice modern twist. Yes it's campy and cheesy but fits the party vibe of NYE and still has the slow traditional intro. I'd love a new tradition to be formed by her performing it each year on New Year's Rockin Eve.

As soon as the ball dropped last night, somebody at the party I was at yelled "play the Mariah Auld Lang Syne video!" Everyone was living their best life. And then we watched a Mariah Christmas special and a bunch of Mariah videos. Queen of New Years.

Her version actually performed better on Itunes than the classic Guy Lombardo version this year. Not sure about streaming, but pretty cool!

I guess this song is nice to listen to when you want to be in a festive mood for NYE. I had it in my Instagram story and it grew on me. It reminds me of those J-Pop/K-pop songs, for some reason. π€£π€£π€£
