w6 This is Gary's answer from the other thread. All the songs you've mention is in the same position of "Let It Go". Let It Go can not reenter unless an outside force brings it back to the top 50. (TV Performance, renewed label push, death, etc.) because, even though it has fallen off all relevant charts, it is still considered the original chart run. This prevents songs from continuously popping in and out of the top 50 on its way down. The Mariah song comes and goes every year due to renewed interest around Christmas. Each season is a new chart run.

When will the old songs start declining again? Probably next Monday. Lots of radio stations will have year end countdowns today and this weekend.

Daniel Collins Happy got 4M+ update, so shouldn't it be colored yellow then? Or is it an exception to the "rule" because it dropped or added a format? also, Uptown Funk was finally added to the top 100 of AC huh? Well better late than never #slay oh and what caused all the 3M+ updates for country songs? Country stations' year-end charts?

Country stations switch to holiday songs I believe for the last week which is why there was such drastic negatives last week.

Counting Stars back in top 50 of airplay (for now anyway) Oh and I didn't know that so many stations still did year-end countdowns on January 1st of the following year lol (hence all the reds and yellows for older songs, I assume)...

December 31st and January 1st are the highest recurrent airplay days. Also, don't forget it's also a little inflated because Christmas Day airplay also leaves the roll-over on the January 2nd charts.

Didn't Fergie's song sell well during first few weeks and then airplay collapsed. Obviously, wherever she performed had an impact. The label should consider a revisit to radio.

Uptown Funk might be ahead of Blank Space on streaming by now. It's also predicted to sell over 70k more than it according to Kworb. It seems to be pulling farther ahead on iTunes. It may not get #1 this week (though there is a small chance given continued growth in airplay and if BS starts falling in airplay), but I'm quite confident it will be #1 on 1/24! Of course that's barring something unexpected like a viral video featuring the Blank Space track as the audio or an unexpected streaming surge from Taylor's NYE performance which did not include the song...

Early prediction:
1. Blank Space (slightest lead...it could go either way tbh and I won't mind if this prediction for #1 and #2 is wrong at all lol) 2. Uptown Funk 3. Take Me a To Church (RIP to any chance of this being #1 now :'() 4. Lips Are Movin' 5. Thinking Out Loud 6. All About That Bass (I swear if this gets more than 25 weeks in the top ten...) 7. Jealous 8. I'm Not The Only One 9. Shake It Off 10. Animals

no fergie on radio ? her song is #15 on itunes and spotify It barely scraped the top 20 on pop radio a few months ago, but radio listeners just weren't that interested. Its call out scores just consistently weren't great, and it started to plunge fairly quickly. It's only so high on iTunes because she just performed it on a New Year's Eve special (along with several other songs which saw recent spikes). She had decent radio at first, but it seems sales didn't catch up fast enough. Didn't Fergie's song sell well during first few weeks and then airplay collapsed. Obviously, wherever she performed had an impact. The label should consider a revisit to radio. It likely wouldn't do anything if it received a second push to radio. It's spike in sales is due to the NYE performance and people downloading it as a recent hit thanks to the Christmas gift card rush (just like "All About That Bass" and "Shake It Off," but to a lesser extent). Remember that the people that listen to radio and the people that download music from the Internet aren't necessarily the same people. Sure, there's going to be some overlap, but it's not 100% of the same people. Something that does well digitally may not be suitable to radio listeners and some songs do well on radio, getting awesome call out scores, but kind of fizzle digitally (like most of Demi Lovato's songs and EDM music, for some reason). I believe "L.A.LOVE (la la)" did decently on radio for what it was. Its digital sales were never spectacular either. They held up decently, but it was clear that as airplay increased, digital sales weren't really following all too well, and with it spiking after the performance to pretty high positions, it seems to me like "L.A.LOVE (la la)" is more of a song for the digital crowd (especially since it seemed to hold well on Spotify too), but not so much the radio crowd. Didn't Fergie's song sell well during first few weeks and then airplay collapsed. Obviously, wherever she performed had an impact. The label should consider a revisit to radio. It was doing decent on Pop. It fell out, but re entered at #50 This is due to the time of year it is. The song did make the top 20 on pop, so it's likely that it made quite a few year-end countdowns for a lot of pop stations. This is the time of year for stations to air their top hits of the year, and I'm sure "L.A.LOVE (la la)" made it on a few of them, so its airplay increased due to this. It'll start tumbling again soon, more than likely. For example, its update today was non-moving.

I expect Happy, Dark Horse, Blurred Lines, Royals, All of Me, Counting Stars, and Radioactive being among the other additions to that list. I guess we will have 3 and a half more years to see which other songs make it

Quote from Mark G.
6. All About That Bass (I swear if this gets more than 25 weeks in the top ten...) Oh that's the one you're talking about lol. Yeah it probably will be up there. I expect Happy, Dark Horse, Blurred Lines, Royals, All of Me, Counting Stars, and Radioactive being among the other additions to that list. I guess we will have 3 and a half more years to see which other songs make it So what is special about 25 weeks?

I guess we will have 3 and a half more years to see which other songs make it So what is special about 25 weeks? Because Counting Stars and Apologize got 25 weeks in the top 10 and I love those songs more than AATB so I would feel uneasy if AATB got more weeks in the top ten than those two songs That's all, kinda silly considering that I love AATB I know but yeah lol by the way what did cause AATB to suddenly surge back to #1 I'm streaming?
