I think they'll peak at #2 or #3...maybe the upcoming from Britney and Iggy will take it from Mark and Bruno? If not then I think UF will be #1 for 5-6 weeks. Perhaps the Britney/Iggy will have a Roar-type initial chart trajectory? Or "Style" lol Style is pretty much a guaranteed top 5 once it is released as a single, and definitely a contender for #1! That aside, I have this seemingly absurd proposition that Time Of Our Lives could gradually grow to a big hit like the last one that Pitbull and Ne-Yo had made together! I think that might be a possibility. Maybe I just don't know the science behind follow-up singles featuring the same two acts and yes I am aware that Dance Again had nowhere near the success of On The Floor (not to mention the flops Live It Up and the Fifa 2014 anthem) but maybe this time could be different? It is in the top 40 on iTunes as we speak and could maybe climb. I still remember how tired I was of Rolling In The Deep and how paranoid I was that Give Me Everything would get blocked and my relief when it finally got that #1 before Party Rock Anthem ah the memories. Too bad charismatic isn't here to stan for that track lol. Anyway I shall stop rambling on now

www.yahoo.com/music/mark-ronson-bruno-mars-jump-to-1-on-hot-100-107450414521.htmlMark Ronson, Bruno Mars Jump to #1 on Hot 100Paul Grein, Yahoo! Chart Watch "Uptown Funk!" by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars jumps from #2 to #1 in its eighth week on the Hot 100. This ends a record-tying 19-week streak in which the #1 spot was held by female artists, namely Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor. (Coincidentally, another frisky, lighthearted male collabo, “Gold Digger” by Kanye West featuring Jamie Foxx, ended the only previous streak in which female artists locked up the #1 spot for 19 consecutive weeks. “Gold Digger” hit #1 in September 2005, ending a streak in which hits by Gwen Stefani, Mariah Carey and Carrie Underwood were on top for 19 weeks in a row.) "Uptown Funk!" is Mars’ sixth #1 hit. Only two other artists have had as many as six #1 hits so far in this decade (that is, since January 2010). They are Rihanna and Katy Perry, who have each had eight. Among male artists, Eminem is runner-up, with three #1 hits in this decade. This is Mars’ second #1 as a featured artist. He was in the featured spot on his very first chart hit, B.o.B.'s “Nothin' on You,” which reached #1 in May 2010. He was in the lead on his next four #1 hits: “Just the Way You Are,” “Grenade,” “Locked Out of Heaven” and “When I Was Your Man.” This is Ronson’s first Hot 100 hit as an artist, though he has long had success behind-the-scenes. He co-wrote Christina Aguilera's “Hurt” (#19 in December 2006), produced Amy Winehouse's “Rehab” (#9 in June 2007) and co-produced “Locked Out of Heaven” (#1 in December 2012). "Uptown Funk!" returns to #1 on Hot Digital Songs. It sold 382K copies this week, bringing its eight-week sales total to 1,757,000. "Uptown Funk!" also returns to #1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart. It’s Mars’ fifth #1 hit in the U.K. It’s his fourth song to reach #1 in both the U.S. and the U.K. He also achieved this feat with "Nothin’ on You," "Just The Way You Are" and "Grenade." Only one male solo artist has had more than four transatlantic #1 hits. That’s Elvis Presley, who had six. Michael Jackson and George Michael also had four. (Michael’s tally includes Wham!'s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” on which he didn't have featured billing, as well as “Careless Whisper,” on which he did.) "Uptown Funk!" is the first transatlantic #1 since Meghan Trainor's “All About That Bass.” It's the first collaboration to reach #1 in both countries since “Timber” by Pitbull featuring Ke$ha a year ago. Finally, here’s some pure trivia for you. “Uptown Funk!” is the first song with a title that ends in an exclamation point to top the Hot 100 since Chris Brown's “Run It!” in 2005. Four previous songs that meet that description reached #1: “Yeah!” by Usher featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris, OutKast's “Hey Ya!” the Beatles' “Help!” and Louis Armstrong's “Hello, Dolly!” (The Byrds' “Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)” would have qualified, but the subtitle knocked it out of contention.) Taylor Swift's “Blank Space” dips from #1 to #2 in its 10th week. It holds at #1 for the fourth week on the Radio Songs chart (which measures radio airplay across all genres). “I Knew You Were Trouble.” and “Shake It Off” also headed this chart for four weeks. Hozier's “Take Me to Church,” which peaked at #2, holds at #3 for the second week in its 21st week. It's #1 on Hot Rock Songs for the 10th week. Ed Sheeran's “Thinking Out Loud” rebounds from #7 to #4 in its 13th week, matching its highest ranking to date. It tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. It's the third million-seller from Sheeran's sophomore album, x. “Sing” is up to 1,323,000. “Don’t” is up to 1,464,000. Meghan Trainor has two songs in the top 10 again this week. “Lips Are Movin” dips from #4 to #5 in its 11th week. “All About that Bass,” which logged eight weeks at #1, dips from #5 to #6 in its 26th week. Taylor Swift also has two songs in the top 10 again this week. “Shake It Off,” which logged four weeks at #1, rebounds from #9 to #7 in its 20th week. Sam Smith's “I'm Not the Only One,” which peaked at #5, drops from #6 to #8 in its 18th week. Nick Jonas's “Jealous” inches up from #10 to #9 in its 17th week. It has climbed as high as #8. This is its sixth week in the top 10, which is twice as long as Jonas Brothers's longest-running top 10 hit. “Burnin' Up” spent three weeks in the top 10 in 2008. Maroon 5's “Animals,” which peaked at #3, drops from #8 to #10 in its 20th week. "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX tops the 4 million mark in digital sales this week. The song spent seven weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 and received a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year. MAGIC!'s “Rude” tops the 3 million mark in digital sales this week. The song spent six weeks at #1, but got no Grammy love. "Fireball" by Pitbull featuring John Ryan tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. The song reached #23. To My Readers: I’ll have another blog drawn from the Hot 100 that will focus on the week’s top debuts and key movers.

www.yahoo.com/music/kanye-west-brings-paul-mccartney-back-to-the-top-107465572036.htmlKanye West Brings Paul McCartney Back to the Top 40Paul Grein, Writer - January 7, 2015 Paul McCartney is back in the top 40 on Billboard's Hot 100 for the first time in more than 25 years as Kanye West's “Only One,” on which he is featured, debuts at #35. It is, by far, the week's highest new entry. It's McCartney's highest-charting hit since “My Brave Face” (which he co-wrote with Elvis Costello) reached #25 in July 1989. West and McCartney co-wrote and co-produced “Only One,” which is a ballad for West’s daughter North, sung from the perspective of West’s late mother Dr. Donda West. (West’s mother died in November 2007 at age 58 of heart disease while experiencing adverse complications from plastic surgery.) This is the first single from West’s forthcoming seventh solo studio album. West’s first four studio albums each spawned one or two 10 hits on the Hot 100, but his last two solo studio albums, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Yeezus, did not. (They did each yield one or more top 20 hits.) "Only One" is McCartney’s fifth collaboration to crack the top 40. The first was "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey," a collabo with his wife, Linda McCartney, which hit #1 in 1971. The second was “Ebony and Ivory,” a collabo with Stevie Wonder. It logged seven weeks at #1 in 1982 and received Grammy nominations for Record and Song of the Year. The next two were collabos with Michael Jackson: “The Girl Is Mine” (#2 for three weeks in 1983) and “Say Say Say” (#1 for six weeks in 1983-‘84.) McCartney came close to the top 40 with a 2005 collabo with U2, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” which peaked at #48. The titans recorded it in July 2005 at London’s Hyde Park as part of the Live8 charity concerts. West, of course, has had far more charted collabos over the years, in part because they are far more prevalent than they used to be. West’s previous partners include more pop and rock artists than you may have remembered. West was featured on Katy Perry's “E.T.,” a #1 smash in the spring of 2011. Adam Levine was featured on West’s 2005 hit “Heard ‘Em Say.” Chris Martin was featured on his 2008 hit “Homecoming.” Bon Iver was featured (along with numerous other artists) on his 2010 hits “Monster” and “Dark Fantasy.” "Only One" is the only new entry that made much noise this week. The next highest new entry is "Throw Sum Mo" by Rae Sremmurd featuring Nicki Minaj and Young Thug, which opened at #92. It was followed by Sam Hunt's “Take Your Time” at #93, Jake Owen's “What We Ain't Got” at #95, Tyler Farr's “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” at #97, Chase Bryant's “Take It on Back” at #98, Cole Swindell's “Ain't Worth the Whiskey” at #99, and “I Mean It” by G-Eazy featuring Remo at #100. In addition, two songs re-enter the chart this week. “Outside” by Calvin Harris featuring Ellie Goulding re-enters at #90 (it has climbed as high as #68). Sheppard's “Geronimo” re-enters at #96 (it has climbed as high as #90).

Now this whole featuring thing still bugs me, I get that Paul McCartney co wrote it and plays keyboards but without any vocal contribution, I don't understand the credit.

Well, this week is a rather happy week, it seemed. Outside and Geronimo re-enter, and Uptown Funk is #1. Now, when will the top 11 change? I say 11 because Love Me Harder is obviously at #11 right now, but please not that pain on ass song of Big Sean. Big Sean should settle with being Ariana's pain in ass, not being a pain in ass in the charts.
Any candicate for new top 10 entry? I'm thinking Centuries and The Hanging Tree, maybe Only.

Anyone know what the current age record is for top 40(for a living artist)?
For Hot 100 it is Fred Stobaugh (age 96)
Paul McCartney is 72 so we have to be pretty close

I don't get the credit either, Gary- but, consider- Quincy Jones, Jellybean, Avicci, David Guetta, etc. who were the writers/producers, and have lead or sole billing, without contributing any vocals. :)

Same way our #1 Hit Uptown Funk is Credited to Mark Ronson. When Only Bruno sings the vocals.... Maybe its however the Artist/record company promotes the track?

For Hot 100 it is Fred Stobaugh (age 96) Paul McCartney is 72 so we have to be pretty close Quite possibly the record holder. Mick Jagger was in his late sixties when "T.H.E." charted. The only other artists even close I can think of are Louis Armstrong ("Hello, Dolly!") and Frank Sinatra ("Theme from New York, New York") and both were in their early sixties.

Moms Mabley was 75 in 1969. Gordon Sinclair was 72 in 1973 (close to Paul McCartney's current age). Don't recall anything else. Footnote: Louis Armstrong would have been 86 in 1988 had he still been living
