If Crushin' It peaks at #11 or #10, it'll be the first in Brad Paisley's career (on the airplay chart). Higher than the seldom-replayed "Who Needs Pictures", "Me Neither", "Camouflage", "I Can't Change the World", and "The Mona Lisa"...all of which I never hear on the radio. I have to imagine "Crushin' It" will get more recurrent/gold airplay than the above, but time will tell. Around here, I hear more "River Bank" than "Perfect Storm" believe it or not. They play A LOT of his old stuff too, for what it's worth. But I'm also fortunate to have two non-corporation owned stations close by, who frequently play good songs. I mean: they played the heck out of "Biscuits" and I hear "Ain't Always Thirsty" a couple times a week. They also give "Going Out Like That" decent spins and one of the stations played "Country" and "Middle of America" with refreshing regularity. The less corporate the station, the better the playlist.

Well congrats Brad for Top 10 ......... on MB. I'm not convinced for one second that Brad is going top 10 on BB. I think Frankie is gonna pull ahead of Brad and take Tim's top 10 spot. Elsewhere Easton looks to spend one last week in the Top 10. I do believe the Zac Brown Band will stay ahead too so looks like they were shooting fot a MB only Top 10. I want this song gone so it can free up chart space

Is Arista not satisfied with a MB top 10? "Crushin' It" is still gaining in spins... If Arista also wants a BB top 10, things don't look so good. "Hell of a Night" and "House Party" could pass "Crushin' It" as early as next week. "Crash And Burn" at #14 is about 6.7 million behind of Brad on BB, but could he hang on until then? Even if he does, spots in the top 10 might not open up in time...

Is it conceivable that his label can try to squeeze another 1,000-1,200+ spins out of this to get this into the top 5 after 20-plus weeks on the chart, or is it time to pull this and move on to another single?

It's hard to know what a song can do with a huge push at the end, but since the song's already hit top 10 at MB and could get there this weekend on BB as well, I'd call it good and release something else. It will only hit the top 10 on MB if Shelton drops below it to #11, which isn't likely yet but there are still more days for Blake to freefall. Or Brad can stay ahead of Sam Hunt's song, but that seems unlikely too. Still, I'd push hard and hope Blake loses 3 mill a day over the weekend. But I suppose the song can last another few weeks. You don't usually see songs treading water at #11 or 12 as long as this one, let alone asking for two more weeks of staying at this level but not having a big surge upward. People who understand the current chart lunacy better than I do might have a different answer for you, Marv. And that's just a top 10 perspective. Whether the song can be pushed all the way to top 5 I would say "no" to, on a theory that the song has hit its peak already; but I don't see why the label couldn't make it happen, using certain recent final-week gains as comparisons.

Again, I really just think Arista is in no particular hurry to move on from this one. Even if they push it for 2 more weeks, then it falls for 2 weeks and they can release the next single mid/late August. At the very WORST, a 25-week chart run for the fourth single would put us in February. Leaving more than enough time for a late March/early April debut single off a new album.
Also like I said earlier, if music video budgets and promotion budgets are allowed to co-mingle for artists, then Brad has about $50,000 more to spend on promotion for this one as opposed to other songs.
Personally, if they can hit #10 on BB this weekend, I say pull it and move on.

Zazie, Brad's already secured a Mediabase top 10 peak -- he was #10 on Sunday's published chart. And today Brad actually re-passed ZBB, so he's #9 on the rolling chart. Maybe ZBB and Sam get ahead of Brad before Sunday, but I think Brad has a pretty good chance to move ahead of Blake, at least on MB. The swing between the 2 songs was greater than 500 spins today, and there's only about 600 spins between the two of them now. So the label doesn't need to push for top 10 on Mediabase. But they're not there on Billboard yet, and they still might not get there on Monday. Let's see...Easton Corbin leaves, so that's a +1 for Brad, which would move him up to #10. I think he can pass Blake on MB, but I don't think he'll get by him on BB. So Brad either needs to hold off Sam Hunt for one more week, OR he gets passed by Sam but makes up for it by re-passing the ZBB (just as he did on MB today). Not sure either of those scenarios is likely. I don't have all the numbers in front of me right now. I do think Brad's got a chance for a top 10 on Monday's Billboard...but without crunching the numbers any further, I'm not sure how high that chance is.

jhomes87 I have makeshift breakdown numbers and Brad is barely ahead of Sam Hunt like they're pretty close. I think Brad might need to wait another week. Blake will be recurrent along with Canaan hopefully so that'd leave 2 open spots and theirs no way Thomas Rhett could catch Brad.

Blake can't go recurrent on Monday, even if he falls below #10 (and I don't think he'll fall that far anyway). Last week was Blake's 1st drop week, as "Sangria" fell 1-3. And "Sangria" is only 17 weeks old so it's guaranteed one more chart appearance.

I'm thinking their goal here is to just keep "Crushin' It" alive as long as possible, and then release "Country Nation" in August, as that one will go perfectly with football season.

For some reason i think "Crushin It" will hang around at least for another month because of the baseball reference mentioned in the lyrics in the first part of the song. Then "Country Nation" would be great for the fall.

He figures to rise to #8 this week at Mediabase having passed Blake Shelton today and set to pass Canaan Smith on Thursday or Friday.
The next question is how soon will his 750-spin lead over Dustin Lynch evaporate?

I wish they'd just let this song go already and give "Country Nation" an adds date.

I wish they'd just let this song go already and give "Country Nation" an adds date. You know what's weird, we're kind of in a lull right now with some artists. I mean, I know Joe Nichols and Josh Turner flamed out with their last ones but we haven't heard anything about them. The Band Perry went a looooong time without an announcement (and we're still weeks away). Blake Shelton's next one still doesn't have an adds date (does it?) where normally as soon as one of his songs hits number 1, they shove the next one out. No Tim McGraw news...no Carrie Underwood news... I'm SURE Arista has a timetable set up (right?) but I'm hoping they don't beat Brad music into the ground on this one and then give "Country Nation" trouble. After listening to the CD many times, the four best songs probably are: "Moonshine in the Trunk", "Perfect Storm", "Country Nation", "Shattered Glass". Also could have given "High Life" a try but it's probably too bumpkin for radio these days.

"Crushin' It" lost 85 spins and over 400k in audience today, so I think this will be the end of the road for this song. If Arista has officially decided to let this go, then I wouldn't be surprised to see an add date for the next single ("Country Nation") very shortly.

Ask anyone who doesn't follow charts closely and I think they'd say they heard this one as frequently as some top 5, top 3 hits. Probably all Arista was hoping for. Has anyone confirmed the 4th single? CN is included on the list of "featured hits" on the CD cover. There are a couple other options too, though.

It's not confirmed but the timing could not be more perfect, so hopefully it is "Country Nation." You never know though until confirmation, so maybe they pick another track.

I really hope that it's true that this song has peaked. I am so tired of hearing it constantly on the radio. It really isn't even a good song, in my opinion.

Looks like his label pulled the plug on it yesterday; it's definitely done.
Does anyone know what was his last single prior to this to miss the top five?
Thanks!

He's had a total of 5 other singles not make the Top 5. I Can't Change the World is his lowest performing single - #22 on the Airplay chart

I expect the fall to be quite the drop too since Arista decided to keep this alive longer than it should have been. Should be interesting to watch, lol.
