Artist: Cyndi Thomson Album: My World: The Acoustic Sessions Label: Solitaire Release date: Sept. 25, 2015
Thomson's debut, My World, appeared in July 2001, and the album went gold behind the number one single "What I Really Meant to Say." However, in October 2002, Thomson announced that she was quitting the entertainment business. In a statement, Thomson cited overwhelming personal demands as reason for her departure. "The next step in my career would be to make a new album...with the many obligations that go along with it," she said. "I have now realized that I cannot commit to those obligations." Industry reaction was mixed. Capitol Nashville chief Mike Dungan said he "cried several times" when Thomson told him she was quitting, but he was also matter-of-fact, remarking "[she] was a big part of my business plan."
While she didn't want the life of our touring artist, she did stay connected with music. She co-wrote "Life Ain't Always Beautiful", a song that would became a top five hit for Gary Allan in 2006. That year, she also returned to Capitol Nashville after leaving the label for four years and started recording for her second album with James. An album never was released, however. In 2009, Thomson released her first new music album in eight years, This Time, a digital-only EP featuring five original songs.
This new EP is a collection of acoustic and stripped-down versions of that first album's most popular and enduring songs.
My World: The Acoustic Sessions Track Listing:
1. If You Were Mine 2. I Always Liked That Best 3. What I Really Meant to Say
Listen to a sample of the album HERE.

Yes, this Alan collection looks absolutely fantastic! Almost every single he released up through the Good Times album, with only a couple notable exceptions! I will definitely have to pick this up when it comes out. As much as I have always liked him, I do not have many of his cds...

I will also be getting this set! I love Alan and always will - true country! The only song missing off this CD is "It's Alright to be a Redneck", which in itself I think is a fun little song, but definitely not a big hit, think it was a top 40.

The only song missing off this CD is "It's Alright to be a Redneck", which in itself I think is a fun little song, but definitely not a big hit, think it was a top 40. Actually, looking at his singles list, there are 8 missing songs, assuming the goal was to give all his hits through the Good Time era: Song for the Life Everything I Love www. memory It’s Alright to Be a Redneck The Talkin’ Song Repair Blues USA Today Good Time I Still Like Bologna A lot of those are surprising omissions to me, because I know the first 3 were top 10s. And "Song Repair Blues" and "USA Today" were both top 20s. Really the only two misses at the height of his career were "It's Alright To Be A Redneck" and "I Still Like Bologna"! The most egregious omission though, in my opinion, is "Good Time". That was a #1 hit! However, if you look at the tracklisting for disc 3 it skips from "#13 Small Town Southern Man" to "#15 Country Boy", so I am hoping that #14 is "Good Time" and it just somehow got left off of that website's list...

Here are just a few artists whose albums I'm looking forward to but they haven't announced anything. If you have info on the albums I'd love to know thanks. Here are the ones I'm interested in: Brothers Osborne, Randy Houser, Keith Urban, & Chase Bryant.

Sorry, I guess I forgot a bunch but that's alright... wasn't www.memory a hit??? I think so! Yep, peaked at #6 on Billboard! It, "Everything I Love", and "Song for the Life" were all top 10s, so I am surprised that they were omitted. Especially considering that lesser hits like "A House With No Curtains," "Blue Blooded Woman," and "Blues Man" were included. But that's okay, this is a pretty darn perfect compilation!

Where did Jana Kramer's good sounding music go? I just listened to her new album thirty-one and every song on there was terrible except "Love" and "I Got The Boy". The NON COUNTRY beats and the poor lyrics don't mix. Her first album was much better with meaningful songs. I would not recommend this album to anybody. :( . It's funny too because when Taylor came out with RED, Jana said in an interview that Taylor was pushing the limits, well if you ask me Jana's new album is just like it with the beats on it. very disappointed, cus I liked her first album and was hoping this one was just as good.

From Carrie Underwood's upcoming album Storyteller, here is "Heartbeat" written by Carrie, Zach Crowell and Ashley Gorley: I hear both dobro AND banjo... And steel too! This is a very good thing! Overall, I really like the sound of this song. I think the electronic drumbeat sounds kinda cheesy being used as heavily as it is, but otherwise this song is amazing. I can already tell that it would make a great single. It captures the innocence of romance nicely. Edit: Just listened again, and I guess the drumbeat does turn into a real drum set once the vocals start. I guess it is just a very electronic drumbeat-type of rhythm that has been used a lot lately, so it fooled me into not listening close enough.

Nashville should just stop releasing CDs. First, it was Old Dominion, then Tim McGraw. Now, it's the Band Perry. What happened to the album art we used to love on country albums?

Honestly the worst part is that they didn't color the ears! That's bugging the hell out of me. It's very distracting... What really cracks me up is the look on their face... like they're saying "see, this is art".
It's a very budget cover, which is good for them, I doubt hiring Beyoncé's choreographer is cheap.
