Lord Help Us...I hope Sugar isn't on the new album. What a disappointment. I agree. She should've picked something other than "Sugar". It's probably be on the album, it's being done on tour with a little remix as Jennifer calls it. She spliced Shoop by Salt n Pepa into it. It wasn't my favorite song. It was fun but the rest of the songs that were played at the first show of the tour were great and made me excited for the new album. These are the songs that were done and look to be on the album. - Playing With Fire
- Three Days in Bed
- I Can't Unlove You
- Chaser
- Drunk in Heels
- Salvation
- Way Back Home
ETA: I'll say after listening to the new songs a little more this morning that Sugar is the weak link compared to the other new songs. I assure you from the videos I saw that the other new songs she played are a lot stronger/more suited for country radio and nothing like Sugar was. Curious to see what the rest of the songs sound like now.

Artist: Green River Ordinance Album: Fifteen Label: GRO Release date: TBD (soon)
The title of Fifteen, Green River Ordinance’s first studio album in three years, has a dual meaning for the hard-working quintet. In addition to marking the fifteen years that have passed since the five bandmates first began making music together, fifteen was also the average age of the band members when the group formed.
It has been a decade and a half since they first convened in their hometown of Fort Worth, Texas, Green River Ordinance—named after their home state’s law forbidding door-to-door sales.
Green River Ordinance’s thrilling evolution continues on Fifteen, which the press release says, "matches irresistibly infectious melodies and insightful, forthright lyrics with rootsy, rousing musical flights and soaring vocal harmonies. Such catchy, upbeat tunes as “Always Love Her,” “Keep Your Cool” and “Red Fire Night,” and such intimate, personally-charged numbers as “Simple Life,” “Endlessly” and “Heart Open” offer an artful balance of electric and acoustic textures."
“When we were starting out, people would describe us as organic, or talk about us being a grass-roots band,” bassist Geoff Ice notes. “We didn’t really understand what they meant at the time, but the meaning has become clear to us in the last few years, and we’ve realized that it’s one of our biggest strengths as a band.”
“Looking back at our history, the songs that have really connected with people were the ones that we didn’t overthink or overanalyze,” observes frontman Josh Jenkins. “So with the new album, a lot of the challenge was trying to stop ourselves from thinking too much, and focusing on writing about stuff that matters to us. All you can do is try and remain present in the songs and stay in touch with the things that inspire you and move you, and have faith that that will connect with people.”
Towards that end, the band approached the making of Fifteen in a manner designed to inspire the band’s creative impulses. For some of the album’s songwriting sessions, they returned to the riverside cabin on the banks of the Caney Fork River in rural Tennessee, where they’d written much of Chasing Down the Wind. The band cut tracks for Fifteen in separate sessions with three notable producers—Paul Moak, Rick Beato and longtime GRO collaborator Jordan Critz—in three different cities. The band recorded many of its performances live in the studio, capturing the musicians’ chemistry.
“Looking at the songs that we’re writing now, and then back on the songs that we were writing when we were kids, it’s interesting to see how much things have progressed,” says Geoff. “But in some ways, it’s still the same. We’re still in the process of discovering who we are and what we can be, and communicating that as honestly as we can.”
“Fifteen is a new chapter for us, and we’re gonna be out playing as many shows as we can and making an effort to communicate with as many people as we can,” Josh concludes. “I feel lucky to be in a band with these guys who’ve been my friends since middle school, and it’s a privilege to be able to keep making music with them.” Album release date is now confirmed for January 22, 2016.

Two New Live Johnny Cash Albums Forthcoming:
Columbia / Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, announce the upcoming release of two essential live albums from the legendary Johnny Cash. For the first time ever as a CD and digital audio release, Johnny Cash's Man In Black: Live in Denmark 1971 will be released on Friday, December 4, 2015. Also for the first time ever, Johnny Cash's historic Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live)--recorded on-stage in Czechoslovakia in April 1978 and documenting the first time any major American country or popular music artist performed behind the Iron Curtain will be available worldwide as a stand-alone CD on Friday, February 5, 2016. Previously commercially available only as a DVD (released in 2006), the audio portion of Johnny Cash's Man In Black: Live in Denmark 1971 can finally be enjoyed by connoisseurs for the first time as a full-length album on November 27, 2015. A special 2LP set, pressed on red and white vinyl (the colors of the flag of Denmark), is being released exclusively to independent record retailers in celebration of Record Store Day Black Friday 2015. American musical icon Johnny Cash was at a career highpoint and in the middle of a successful tour of Scandinavia in 1971 when he was asked to star in his own concert special for Danish television. Lensed before a live audience on a Danish TV sound stage, Man In Black: Live in Denmark 1971 captures the essence of a Johnny Cash show of the era, showcasing performances with his touring companions--the Tennessee Three (his backup band) June Carter Cash, the Carter Family, Carl Perkins, and the Statler Brothers--on a setlist of hits, classics and songs-of-the-day including "A Boy Named Sue," "Sunday Morning Coming Down," "I Walk the Line," "Folsom Prison Blues" and more as well as solo selections--"Blue Suede Shoes" (Carl Perkins) and "Flowers on the Wall" (the Statler Brothers)--and duets--"Darlin' Companion," "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and "If I Were a Carpenter" (Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash), the song that won the couple the 1971 Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live) was recorded live at the Sportovni hala in Prague on April 11, 1978. Cash was invited to perform by the Czechoslovakian government--who acted as agents, promoters and managers for the four shows in Prague--Johnny Cash and his entourage of 19 secured work permits and set off from Berlin in a small "school bus," provided by the Czech government, to find out how audiences inside the Soviet bloc would respond to American music. The result, according to the United States ambassador, did more for U.S.-Czech relations in four concerts than he could have accomplished in four years. Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live) was first (and only) released on vinyl in Czechoslovakia in 1983, pressed on the local classical label Supraphon. American Johnny Cash fans became aware of Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live) when it was issued in the U.S. as part of the deluxe box set Johnny Cash: The Complete Columbia Album Collection in 2012. While a limited edition 12" LP edition was pressed on 180 gram red translucent vinyl for Record Store Day 2015, Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live) is being released worldwide for the first time as a stand-alone CD on February 5, 2016. Koncert v Praze (In Prague-Live) features Johnny Cash performing 11 songs from his catalog--including "Ring Of Fire," "Big River," "Hey Porter," and other Cash hits--with backing from the Tennessee Three and vocals from the Carter Family. While in Prague, Johnny played to more than 40,000 audience members over the course of four shows (which sold out in two days). Those historic performances helped provide a turning point in the thawing of the Cold War. For Johnny Cash, not knowing what to expect from an Eastern European audience, the prospect of playing behind the Iron Curtain was daunting. Were they familiar with him, his songs, or American country music? For the standing room only audiences in Prague--who'd heard his music on Radio Free Europe and smuggled Johnny Cash records across their borders--the chance to see America's legendary Man in Black perform was not only a once in a lifetime opportunity, it was a liberating transformative experience.

^ zack97 posted in the "Stay A Little Longer" thread that their album would be released in January (from their show last night, here in Buffalo), a day before the official announcement was made (which was today). :) "Pawn Shop" is a great song and so is "Greener Pastures." These two are the real deal.

^ Yeah, you heard it from me first lol Anywqy, "Greener Pastures" is a "screw the world it's all gone to pot, I'm off to find greener pastures." Had sort of a bluegrass feel to it, but that could have just been the acoustic vibe. Had a sort of old timey melody. "Pawn Shop" is a really fun song. It's upbeat and rocking (think "Shoot From The Hip" from their EP). It's literally about a pawn shop lol. I loved both of the songs from the acoustic show. I'm definitely a huge fan after last night! :)

Artist: Lucinda Williams Album: The Ghosts of Highway 20 Label: Thirty Tigers Release date: Feb. 5, 2016
From the label: "Three-time Grammy Award winner Lucinda Williams returns on February 5 with The Ghosts of Highway 20 (Highway 20/Thirty Tigers). After 11 highly acclaimed studio albums, Williams is in the most prolific period of her nearly four-decade career, as she continues to challenge herself creatively. The Ghosts of Highway 20 finds Williams exploring new territory personally, sonically and vocally like never before.
The Ghosts of Highway 20 is unlike any other Lucinda Williams album prior. There is a common thread running through the songs, uniting them under one collective theme as the haunting title track illustrates. 12 of the 14 songs were inspired by various periods and experiences throughout Williams’ life that all tie into Highway 20 (aka Interstate 20), which runs in part from Georgia to Texas, the focal region of the album. Whether it is cities she has resided in (Atlanta, GA, Macon, GA), has family ties to (Shreveport, LA, Monroe, LA) or previously written about (Jackson, LA, Vicksburg, MS), Williams’ personal experiences and connections to these areas inform the narratives. However, this is not an album about geographic locations, but songs and stories inspired by people, place and time.
The Ghosts of Highway 20 features some of the most expansive and experimental arrangements Williams has ever recorded, as heard on the epic “Dust”, the chilling “If My Love Could Kill” and “House of Earth”, a lost Woody Guthrie song Williams wrote the music to. Revered guitarists Bill Frisell and Greg Leisz provide incredible sonic textures and ethereal tones that enhance Williams' brilliant writing and wise and weathered vocals. Williams expands her own vocal timbre with sultry jazz-styled phrasing on “I Know All About It” and the extensive improvisational track “Faith & Grace”. Williams puts her signature on a new interpretation of Bruce Springsteen’s “Factory”, and melts into the absolutely stunning “Louisiana Story” and “Place In My Heart”.
The Ghosts of Highway 20 was co-produced by Williams, Leisz and Tom Overby and recorded with Williams’ ace rhythm section of Butch Norton (drums) and David Sutton (bass). Guitarist Val McCallum guests on two tracks."

Not that I'm complaining it's good to see one last contender for 2015 Best Albums Of The Year. It's one of the best-selling country singles of the year, so no. It's currently in the Top 20 of the all-genre iTunes and it's been in that neighborhood for quite awhile.
