You can listen to a preview of every single song on Randy's new album, Fired Up here: randyhouserfiredup.com/. It requires you to share the link on Facebook/Twitter before you can access the preview. Can't wait for the album to come out next Friday. Previews are very good. Totally agree with this. I was pretty much disappointed with "We Went," but after hearing both "Little Bit Older" and "Back" as well as the previews, I think this could be a very solid album. And, man can Randy sing!!!! It's good to have him back with a full album of new stuff. How Country Feels was one of my favorite albums, ever. This new one should be a good follow up, judging upon the little bits and pieces we've got to hear so far.

Artist: Martina McBride Album: Reckless Label: Nash Icon Release date: April 29, 2016 Source
Martina McBride announced that she will be releasing her 13th album and first on her new music label Nash Icon on April 29. The album and first single is entitled Reckless.
Penned by Zach Crowell, Heather Morgan and Sarah Buxton, the song is a soaring ballad directed at the person who helps scoop you up from the edge of darkness. The message is one that could easily be referenced as a worship song, a quality that has been found in many of McBride’s recent cuts.
Honestly, do these people even listen to the songs they are summarizing? "Soaring ballad"? I'm pretty sure that I would describe this song to be anything but that... "Reckless" is basically the same tempo as "Wrong Baby Wrong" and "I Love You"... Although the worship song idea is pretty cool; I hadn't considered that! On the other hand, YAY, I am so excited to hear about the album!!!! I am a little shocked it is being announced so quickly after the single release.

I've been rather busy all day and just finally sat down to catch up on the news of the day only to see this...mouth dropped! I'm very excited for new Sturgill music and the album title and track listing leave me intrigued. I think he's going in a slightly different direction with this album and I'm not expecting a Metamodern Part II. Looks like we have a April 15th release date.

Phil, The only Bro-Country stylised song I'm hearing so far is "We Went". I wouldn't call "A Little Bit Older" a Bro-Country song because it's A. respectful to everyone, B. Does mention Budweiser but Randy recorded this song as a "living again" song. If you know what I mean. I love Little Bit Older. I'm talking about what I've heard from the previews. Mine Tonight/Gotta Get You Home/Fired Up. But like I said, it sounds like there are some amazing songs on this album. Excited. Phil you are right about some of these songs. I just heard the most terrible sounding song on the album. It's called "Chasing Down a Good Time".

Sheesh how much more time will they need, "Little Bit Of You" should be peaking within the next few weeks. If they are releasing it towards the end of the year, they better hope the 3rd single keeps Chase Bryant relevant on radio (since he isn't really all that relevant otherwise.)

Artist: Josh Kelley Album: New Lane Road Label: Sugar Hill Records Release date: April 22, 2016
New Lane Road marks the end of a five year-hiatus from singer/songwriter/actor/multi-instrumentalist and Top 40-recording artist Josh Kelley. What he quotes as his most honest work to date, Josh attempts an organic warmth guided by the influences of Otis Redding, Al Green, Jackson Browne, Tom Petty and Joe Cocker. His new album contains such new tunes as "Take It On Back," "You're My Angel," "Life's Too Short," "It's Your Move" and "One Foot in the Grave".
There is no denying the fact that this native Georgian has had a varied career, with hits such as “Amazing” and “Only You,” as well as theme songs for current TV show Mike and Molly, the Golf Channel, and feature film Home Sweet Hell, not to mention having his work featured in Smallville, Scrubs, Brothers and Sisters and MTV’s The Hills. On this album, for the first time however, the listener gets a true snapshot into his life. Josh and wife Katherine Heigl raise two children in the hills of Utah. New Lane Road gives us an intimate glimpse of home.
"This record is the most me of any record I've ever made," Kelley asserts. "It's the most honest I've ever been, and it's the best subject matter I've ever had to write about. When I was first coming up, I was young and inexperienced, and I had to make things up. Now that I'm older and I've traveled the world and had kids and have seen more and felt more, I have things to write songs about."
"It was recorded in four different studios, but mainly at my place, which is my mad-scientist laboratory," he says. "It's kind of a snapshot of our life in Utah, and how I feel about being a father and a husband. It's also a snapshot of what I've been listening to. I've been listening to a ton of Otis Redding, Al Green, Jackson Browne, Tom Petty and Joe Cocker; that organic warmth is what I'm always trying to achieve."
"I'm in the studio every day," he notes. "Being the producer, the engineer and the artist can get lonely sometimes, but it's very empowering and very satisfying creatively. For me, there's no better drug than spending the morning writing a song, spending the afternoon recording and producing it, and then making a copy and listening to it in the car on the way home. It's so much fun having that instant gratification, of creating something from scratch."
"I tend to get totally immersed in anything I'm creating," he continues. "I've been that way my whole life, whether it's recording or drawing or painting or whatever. It's a part of myself that I've never really shown to the world. I play 10 or 15 different instruments, and if I need one and don't have it, I'll buy one on Craigslist and learn to play it. If it weren't for my wife, I would probably just be a Sasquatch and stay in my studio all day every day. She saved me from that by forcing me to get out and engage with the world a little more."
"I feel like I actually know what I'm doing now, which was not always the case in the past," Kelley concludes. "I'm a better player and performer than I've ever been, and I've found the sweet spot in my voice. I write, record and create every single day, and because of that, I think I've gotten better at everything. I'm a better husband, a better dad, and I'm better at my craft. I think of all of the stuff I did before as my apprenticeship for what I'm doing now."

^ Very excited to FINALLY have a new album from Josh. I became a fan a while after Georgia Clay was released. I was loving "Mandolin Rain" when it was released, and then we didn't see an album release follow that. Now, I am thrilled that it is finally coming out.

Artist: k.d. lang, Neko Case & Laura Veirs Album: case/lang/veirs Label: ANTI Release date: June 17, 2016
With more than 30 studio albums among them, Neko Case, Laura Veirs and k.d. lang understand how to build a song. Now they'll be doing it together with a brand new self-titled trio project that will drop in June.
Several years ago k.d. sent an email to the amazing Neko Case and acclaimed folk-country artist Laura Veirs saying simply, “I think we should make a record together.” The three musicians were admittedly very different and, at the time, barely more than acquaintances--but they did admire one another, and it instantly felt right. “She lit the flare,” says Case. “She shot it into the air and we said, ‘Let's do this.’ Laura and I both responded immediately. There was no question.”
But now there is an answer. case/lang/veirs, a new album by three phenomenal, self-driven artists will be released June 17 on ANTI- Records with an extensive tour to follow. case/lang/veirs features fourteen original songs written by the artists over a period of two-and-a-half years. It was recorded in Portland, OR where lang and Veirs both live, and produced by Tucker Martine with the group. Sessions commenced in lang’s loft with a view of Mount St. Helens, and in Veirs’ dining room and backyard studio.
Tracklist: 1. “Atomic Number” 2. “Honey And Smoke” 3. “Song For Judee” 4. “Blue Fires” 5. “Delirium” 6. “Greens Of June” 7. “Behind The Armory” 8. “Best Kept Secret” 9. “1,000 Miles Away” 10. “Supermoon” 11. “I Want To Be Here” 12. “Down I-5″ 13. “Why Do We Fight” 14. “Georgia Stars”

I think there's a decent chance that Dolly's album will be released by BMLG's Nash Icon Records imprint. This little bit was from Country Aircheck Today: In a press conference this morning (3/7) in Nashville, Dolly Parton revealed her 2016 plans include her first major U.S. and Canadian tour in more than 25 years and a double-disc album, Pure & Simple with Dolly's Biggest Hits. Tour cities and an album release date are TBA. And while no one is commenting officially on a possible new label home for Parton, two BMLG execs were spotted in the crowd.

Artist: Michael Martin Murphey Album: High Stakes: Cowboy Songs VII Label: Murphey Kinship Recordings Release date: April 22, 2016
Perhaps more than any other living artist today, Michael Martin Murphey is hell-bent on keeping alive the great lost artistry of cowboy music and the great romantic life of the Old West. Those efforts culminate in the upcoming release of his newest album of cowboy music entitled High Stakes: Cowboy Songs VII. The project will be released on his Wildfire/Murphey Kinship Recordings label on April 22.
This project has a bit of political overtones, in particular the “struggles of people in the cattle business and some of the environmental issues that we’ve had.”
“That’s why I love the Cowboy Poetry Gathering. If you want to know what the Cowboy Poetry Gathering means to me, that’s what it means to me. It’s a gathering of people who truly, truly understand the land and truly understand the importance of agriculture in our culture,” said Murphey.
His new album is about the “renegades and rebels,” who “stood up and said ‘no, we’re not going to be denigrated as people who are destroying the environment. We are actually helping the environment.’”
“Once people buy into the fact that it’s a beautiful culture, they’re going to save it,” he said, explaining if one goes to the Cowboy Poetry Gathering, he or she will walk away with a love and respect for cowboy culture."
“The main message I’m trying to tell everyone is agriculture is the issue. Agriculture is the most important issue in our world that we need to think about. Technology isn’t going to feed people. Technology will help feed people by being applied to agriculture. That’s my main goal right now, trying to get people to have a positive view,” he concluded.
1. High Stakes 2. Campfire On The Road 3. Running Gun 4. Emila Farewell 5. Masters Call 6. The Drover Road To Amulree 7. The Betrayal of Johnnie Armstrong 8. Three Sons 9. I've Got The Guns 10. Honor Bound 11. The End of The Road

Artists: Jason Eady, Courtney Patton, Drew Kennedy and more Album: Live at the Live Oak: Vol. 1 Label: Live Oak Release date: March 3, 2016
The Live Oak Music Hall & Lounge, one of Fort Worth’s most active venues, has put together a compilation of live music performances from some of the Lone Star State's most well-respected performers. Entitled Live at the Live Oak, this 13-track compilation are local singer-songwriters like Jacob Furr, Nicholas Altobelli, Matthew Gray, Courtney Patton, Drew Kennedy and Jason Eady, along with regional and national artists like Max Stalling and Susan Gibson.
The idea took root last spring, according to the Live Oak’s sound engineer Joshua Jones. “I was quite surprised with the quality of the tracks and it quickly became apparent that it would be easy to capture performances for others,” Jones says. “After a couple of months of tweaking and testing the setup, I realized we were building a large and diverse library of singer-songwriters. I mentioned to [the Live Oak’s entertainment and marketing manager] Brooks [Kendall Jr.] that we could have enough for a compilation, and that was that.”
“It is a bit obvious to say I tried to find the best performance from each of these characters,” Jones continued. “I was listening for a song that was representative of the artist. Some songs are fun, some are serious. All in all, it’s a sampler.”
Track listing:
1. But a Dream (Live) Susan Gibson 2. Dogwood (Live) Nicholas Altobelli 3. I Ain't Drinking Alone (Live) Max Stalling 4. My Science Fiction Daydream (Live) Matthew Gray 5. Try Not to Take It so Hard (Live) Matt Hillyer 6. I Got Trouble (Live) Keegan McInroe 7. Homecoming '63 (Live) Jason Eady 8. Estacado (Live) Jacob Furr 9. What's His Name (Live) Ginny Mac 10. Jackson (Live) Drew Kennedy 11. So This Is Life (Live) Courtney Patton 12. At First Sight (Live) Bobby Duncan 13. On a Dream with You (Live) Bob Livingston

Dolly is one of the biggest icons in Nashville and she doesn't have radio success like she used to so at least with Nash Icon she would get more airplay.
