Did '+' by Ed Sheeran was certified Platinum yet? It's one of these weird situations. His label gave him the plaque for it being certified Platinum in February, but the certification hasn't shown up at RIAA.com and it's still Gold at Billboard.com. Atlantic just has to pay that $350 fee and it'll be certified.

78 - 51,000 - NICK JONAS - Nick Jonas ( 158,000 )
Kind of tragic considering he has two hits from that album. He really should have had a super sexy video of himself writhing around naked for "Jealous".

He really should have had a super sexy video of himself writhing around naked for "Jealous". Don't see how that would have any impact on album sales. Jealous was already a big hit - a video like that might have given it the chart points it needed to go a bit higher on the Hot 100, but it's not like the song suffered from a lack of exposure. Everyone in the target audience knew the song. And if the video was available for free on YouTube, why would it compel anyone to buy the album?

Nick is the kind of artist who will need several hits to establish himself as album seller, but the truth is his album holds quite well, every week he appears in the early advances of the build of the chart (unfortunately he ends out of top 50 every week but it's near)
He is avoiding the sexy aproach and in my opinion he is doing the right thing. He wants to be taken seriously, he is transitioning from child star, and frankly he should focus on the music for a while before using cheap (but effective) tricks, in the long run it's the better decision

A massive video would have absolutely helped him to established himself further as a solo artist, more relevance, media attention, people talking about him IRL and on social media, = more album sales.

I don't think so. First, i doubt showing his abs in a video will do that much for his career in terms of attention. And sometimes it's better to do things with caution. If a child star really wants to transition into an adult star it's better to focus on his/her talent. Other things may catch attention for a while, but in the end generally are distractions in the long run, and we have Miley and Bieber as good examples of that (both after successful albums have on a very strange point)

The majority of Nick's sales are coming from streaming. He always appears on the SPS chart top 50, but he hasn't been seen in the physical/digital album chart for a while now.

The majority of Nick's sales are coming from streaming. He always appears on the SPS chart top 50, but he hasn't been seen in the physical/digital album chart for a while now. That chart is only sales. Madonna was number one last week and she was two at the bilboard with sales and streamings, so he is selling albums (not many, but he is selling constantly)

^Ed Sheeran's + should also cross the 1 million scanned mark next week.
Sheeran's x and Meghan Trainor will cross 500k scanned in 2015 next week.
Kendrick Lamar will cross 500k scanned in 2 weeks.
April & May are kind of quiet right now with big releases.
Only Zac Brown Band and Mumford & Sons...
Oh! And Kanye when he releases...

Oh One Direction's Four hasn't reach 1 million scanned yet and I thought it would easily get it before 2014 ended but it's on its way there anyway
Maroon Five's V is also on its way to 1 million thanks to another set of hits, Maps kinda underperformed but Animals and Sugar made up for it thus boosting the sales to a consistent level

Taylor will reach 1M in 2015 next week. There's still 38 weeks to go. I'm confident Tay could reach 2M by the end of the year.

^It wasn't Billboard. HITS said 3 million. I don't think it will happen.
EDIT:
oldbloke says "1989" will pass Eminem's "Recovery" next week to become the 2nd best selling album released since 2010.
