Lucy Angel is better than most probably wanna give them credit for (Too bad radio hasn't given them a proper shot) and I can see another hit or two from "Southernality" after "Smoke." Finally, I've really been enjoying this record from Big House lead vocalist Monty Byrom.

Attachment DeletedJust listened to this album as I read through this thread... I think I had it on repeat throughout most of '08/'09. Brings back a lot of memories. Top Tracks:What I'd Give Take Me As I Am Fall Into Me Genevieve Very Last Country Song Love ...really, not a single dud in seventeen tracks.

Ray Wylie Hubbard- "The Ruffian's Misfortune Dwight Yoakam- Second Hand Heart Will Hoge- Small Town Dreams
Yoakam and Hoge are phenomonal, Ray Wylie is a bit lackluster

This is probably my favorite album from her since her debut. I liked all her albums so far but after ' Miss Fortune' she went in a different direction than I had expected her to. I liked ' The Duel' and ' Crows' the most of the in between albums but this is a return to form imo. ' Getting Somewhere' was her weakest I think, I still don't own it (along with ' The Duel' & ' The Hardest Part') but I have heard them all. I think the best track here for me is "Thunderstorm / Hurricane" or "Down To Believing". "Mama Let The Wolf In" is great too, if only for Jeffrey Steele's presence I've always liked him and he's been slowing down in terms of getting cuts.

Wade Bowen/Randy Rogers- "Hold My Beer Vol.1"
Really wish that more artists would collaborate together and make albums like this, just such a neat thing to do. This album is great, and hopefully this album (along with Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard "Django and Jimmie" coming out later) encourages artists to collaborate more often

Just bought these at Record Store Day. Dang it! I tried both Great Escapes and couldnt find it! I got both of them at the Charlotte Great Escapes but there were only 2-3 copies of each. I was there at open. Helped a friend get multiple Dolly "The Grass Is Blue" albums at there and McKay. He was at The Great Escape at 430-5 am. I got there at 6. We then waited 90 minutes at McKay to get the vinyl specials there.

Yeah , I kinda had a massive hangover and didn't make it out til about 9 or 10 AM , but then again I had no idea they opened up that early on RSD to begin with . At ten bucks a song , it better be astoundingly good. Ha!

I'm in the same boat, I'm not as knocked out by this album as you, but it is her best effort since her first few albums. I LOVE "Mama Let The Wolf In". You should definitely check out "The Hardest Part" though. Its only bested by her debut in my opinion.

#PartyPooperPolice:@ Uncle Lumpy & @ rsmattoWould be great when huge pictures (and lengthy texts and lists) are not repeated when quoting. Not only here but as a general rule. :) @ Kanenrá:ke StaceyThat Allison Moorer cover picture is HUGE! On my screen it's showing at about 7" to 8" wide. :) Thanks, guys! :) Hate mail here: idontcare@dump.com

Wade Bowen & Randy Rogers Hold My Beer Vol.1. After being fairly disappointed in both Reba & Dwights latest efforts , I'm Loving this. Also enjoying the two pre-release Chris Stapleton songs & "The world Is Going To Pot" from Willie & Merle.

Latest:
William Clark Green- "Ringling Road"
I just found out about this guy today and holy crap I love this album! It's described as "Texas-Country" but I'd call it Country - Rock for sure. The title track will definently be one of my favorite songs of 2015!

I love "What We Ain't Got", I'll have to add this Travis Meadows fellow to my list of artists to check out.
And I hear that William Clark Green album is a dandy, can't get want to get my hands on that. There's too much good music coming out at all times. I somehow still haven't heard the new Mavericks, Wade Bowen/Randy Rogers, Robert Earl Keen, Aaron Watson, Allison Moorer, Zac Brown, James McMurtry, John Moreland, Will Hoge... so much for my 2015 new years revolution to stay current with new releases.

I can't recommend William Clark Green's enough, it's by far my favorite album of the year. And I totally agree there's a TON of great new music coming out. From your mini list there I highly recommend Wade Bowen/Randy Rogers, Will Hoge, and Aaron Watson. I still need to listen to Allison Moorer, John Moreland, and James McMurtry...

I still havent completed purchasing his albums , just several downloads from his three albums, but Im gonna have to soon as Ive been on disc burning spree lately. But from what Ive gotten so far I think Im gonna like "Killin' uncle Buzzy" the best. Really solid tracks . I love "What We Ain't Got" but I dont thinks its even my favorite. "Learning To Live Alone" ,It get Better , Good Intentions & It Ain't Fun No More are all from the same album and equally great.

^I've been meaning to formally thank you for introducing me to the music of Travis a few months back. Good stuff! You're welcome, Uncle Lumpy! If I had the coin or was in position to work at/run a label, I'd be signing that guy to a deal to release albums. Not caring if they sold 2,000 or 2,000,000 copies. It'd be a play for Grammy Award and critical darling lists. He's too good to not get a wider audience. Reminds me of Chris Knight back in the late 90s (older than the normal 'new' artist). Well, my favorite on "Buzzy" is "Grown Up Clothes." but there's really not a bad song on there. The EP has strong stuff (Pete Scobell Band covered 3 of them, including "Hearts I Leave Behind"). "Hearts" from Travis' POV is about addiction overtaking the lives of those around him but it most-definitely works for soldiers too.
