I don't like "It Ain't Cool...", it just doesn't do much for me. Neither do "Nobody in His Right Mind..." (which at least has a good right/left hook), "Am I Blue" or "Famous Last Words...". Those are just sort of mediocre Strait songs.
"Baby's Gotten Good..." is one of my Top 5 favorites of his though. The whole Beyond the Blue Neon album is very good, actually.
Getting back to "Ticks", I'm glad to see Brad hitting the top so often. Granted, "The World" was a bit too repetitive for my tastes (and oddly, "She's Everything" wasn't), but Brad's obviously got talent out the wazooty, and he's got a unique style that's clever, original, ear-pleasing, and radio friendly all at once.

I have to admit that Brad Paisley has been something of a guilty pleasure for me musically.
I've never really thought of his music representing the true traditional/Music Row type of country soul by any means, which I believe most music they currently play on the format butchers that musical tradition of balladeering in particular.
And yet, Country radio also used to be a lot more novelty/comical appeal, where the format now certainly isn't completely absent of humor, yet when it comes up in songs it's almost always much more calculated. And some of Brad Paisley's songs I have to admit are appealing in that they try and lighten up the format more in earnest.
So I think Paisley is one of the more intriguing big-name artists on an otherwise unintriguing roster to me, and in looking from that perspective I'm kind of appreciative Paisley has been successful as he is, even while I hardly think of his music as true country (then again, you have to promote yourself somewhere I suppose)
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Toby Keith had 7 in a row starting with You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like That; had it not been for Rock You Baby, his streak would have reached double figures. Did Toby have a duet during his stretch? I count 6 consecutive #1's: 1. You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This 2. I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight 3. I Wanna Talk About Me 4. My List 5. Courtesy of the Red White and Blue 6. Who's Your Daddy? Then came "Rock You Baby", followed by "Beer For My Horses".

Yup, Zazie's count was off by one. Shame on you, Zazie...
There were indeed only 6. Of course, there was also the Christmas single "Old Toy Trains" which peaked at #57. If "Rock You Baby" had been a #1, Toby would've had 11 in a row (unless you count the Scotty Emerick duet which peaked at #24).

Yay for another #1 for Brad, although I kinda hoped it wouldn't be for "Ticks." Still creeps me out, what can I say? Also glad to see politics doesn't completely determine what happens on the charts. Or if it does, that it's not done that easily.

Beer for My Horses charted before Rock You Baby did, actually before Daddy, so I counted it -- I just wasn't thinking. Only 6 for TK. OK, Brad should be able to match that.
