She is a great performer!
I wish she would give us something with a little more tempo and not as much midtempo/slow stuff.

I always thought "Fallen" was a bad single choice. Promoted or not it just wasn't the best choice. The remix was Hott though and you couldn't even buy it. At least not the version they played on my local Rythmic station here in Boston. I used to pick on Mya for not having a powerful voice back in the day and then I watched her accoustic MTV special years ago and really heard the beauty in her voice. |

Her label initially had big plans for Moodring but they pulled the plug on promotion after the lackluster performance of Fallen. Things Come & Go and You were set to be future singles but those plans were scrapped. Her label was hoping to cash in with Sean Paul in the international markets/territories while You was targeted for the U.S. Funny, because Mya said a lot of the label's budget would come from the money she brought in from her own projects and be used for other artist's budgets. More recently, in an interview she expressed she wasn't completely satisfied with Moodring and felt some instrumentation could've been left off on certain records. What happened to mood ring is what you are saying in your second line of your reply and outside of ron putting those damn strings everywhere...the budget got bigger which is going to the have label really not give you that much of promotional push and interscope saw mya as a single artist not a album artist and they didn't know how to push a r&b artist they are a rap label fallen was alright but yeah that was the single Mya was not a fan of Moodring per her own words lol shame. |
