I almost want to cry, but I had this weird feeling that we wouldn't be getting the album this soon. At least we got 2 more confirmed tracks from that article, "Life's About to Get Good" and "I'm Alright". I'm almost starting to believe this is going to get shelved but I don't want to let my mind go there. Why wait until the fall? Especially since Taylor Swift will be releasing her album then and will probably steal Shania's spotlight, even though Taylor is likely not going back to the country world.

The woman has literally been trolling us since 2011, I don't expect anything from her anymore.

I just don't know WHY they needed to push it back. She could've released her new single next Friday (the day before Stagecoach) and put the album out in June/July. Ugh.

Shania is one of the biggest artists in music history. You release a15 year comeback album in the proper quarter - the fourth. That way it sells well. We will get to hear new music by the end of the month. Since it's been so long, the label and her management most likely would like to see how the single performs at radio and commercially, and then taking a crack at releasing a second single before the album drops. That is a common release thread these days.

Are we even sure she is going to release a single anytime soon? Just because she is performing new songs at the festival doesn't mean she will release them as singles. There are plenty of artists that perform new music live and then don't release them for another few months or so. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get a radio single until at earliest August or something.

She didn't discuss any new music on The Late Late Show with James Corden. All she talked about was stage fright and briefly her upcoming performance at the festival.

I actually suspect the label is not OK with the material. Her description of what it sounded like was extremely uninspired/not exciting at all for me, honestly.

It's either that (which i doubt) or she simply wants to generate attention from single(s) and also capitalize on 4th quarter sale

Do you think the label made her push the album back so she could come up with some new tracks? Personally, that's exactly what I think. They are going to need a really strong lead single, perhaps several singles, in order to make this release a success. I don't think they have quality enough material to be confident with a release. Better to wait and record additional tracks rather than to release an album that will sink upon release.

My friend went to the taping and she talked about two new songs she would perform at Stagecoach and what they meant. "Swinging With My Eyes Closed" and "Life's About To Get Good." They edited it out. Plus, the writer that has written the Stagecoach article above said on Facebook that she has heard the entire album. It's done and in the hands of the media.

Random question, but does anyone know if Shania has ever performed any of the ballad album tracks from The Woman In Me ("Is There Life After Love?", "Leaving Is the Only Way Out", etc) live? If so, do any recordings/video exist?

I haven't even been in love and I know that when my first real heartbreak happens that will be my go to track!

Me too, Bhad Bill . It's such a beautiful song. For any of those who didn't know, Shania wrote "Leaving Is The Only Way Out" on The Woman In Me. The song was written completely by Shania herself, so if you are curious to hear what she may offer lyrically on this next album, that might be a good place to start. She also wrote "God Ain't Gonna Getcha For That" on her 1993 debut. It was a cowrite, but it was pre-Mutt, and easily the best song on the album...and I thought that before I knew she wrote it. She also had started, "Any Man Of Mine," "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?," God Bless The Child," and from Up! "Ain't No Particular Way" before meeting Mutt. Of course, we know "Any Man Of Mine" was originally titled "This Man Of Mine" and the tempo and chorus were different but she had the melody and the verses. Of course, Mutt added his influences but they were originally started without him. Fun fact: Did you know 'Boots' was originally pitched by Shania to Mercury for her first album?

"Leaving Is The Only Way Out" might be my favorite ballad from TWIM, and I knew Shania wrote that one completely by herself, so it gave me some additional faith in her ability to write good songs without Mutt. If I'm not mistaken, I believe she also started "No One Needs to Know" before meeting Mutt from what I remember from reading her autobiography. Correct me if I am wrong though. And no, I didn't know 'Boots' was originally pitched by Shania to Mercury for her first album. Thanks for that fun fact! I wonder how/if her career would've played out differently had that song been on her debut album and released as a single instead of on TWIM...

Matthew Koma is one of Shania's producers on the new album. And he says the album is a country-pop record. To be honest, I'm glad he clarified because I was starting to wonder what it would sound like. Shania's described it as everything from "organic" to "rock anthems" to "soul." So, it was hard to judge whether it would Country. So it's Country-pop but less poppy. www.fuse.tv/2017/04/matthew-koma-dear-ana-interview-eating-disorder" ...I just did a bunch of the Shania Twain record. It was really cool, I produced four or five songs, which was a joy. I'm really excited for people to hear because it's such a different thing than what people hear from my work. It's a country-pop record, it's very true to who Shania Twain is, but a graduation of that. "

So, as confirmed by Shania herself, she will be performing the lead single at Stagecoach this Saturday! Is it time for a new, fresh thread yet?

Now I'll start the thread. Nevermind on waiting. UMG is confirmation enough.
