Sony's track record for new artists hasn't been great lately, which @daydrinker pointed out, but particularly with RCA. They haven't gotten a top 20 hit from a debut single since 2008 ("You Can Let Go"). Their track record since 2010 is abysmal with Danny Gokey, Joanna Smith (switched from Columbia), Tate Stevens and Bush Hawg - while Josh Dorr's debut looks as if it won't break the top 40. Even artists who have gotten some top 15 hits on Arista like The Henningsens and Swon Brothers have had bad sales and I'd be surprised to see both acts survive past 2015. Columbia's been the only one lately that has yielded some success with Tyler Farr and Chase Rice, though it took them a few singles to hit with Farr. At the same time, I don't think Sony Nashville is going to be going down hill forever. I really believe that the next hire and the rest of 2015 is crucial though, and a shift in label priorities is what's best for the company. I agree with jhomes87 that things might not take affect in terms of changes til the summer. There are some bright spots still like Cam; Logan's song has real potential; and like @daydrinker said, Old Dominion can be a bright spot with how well they've sold with "Break Up With Him". Even though I think Overton tried and he was more than qualified for the position, he just did not do a good job at selecting talent to sign on to his roster and the more he signed, the worst it seemed to get. I echo all who say that these next 8-12 months will be interesting. Not just the future of newer artists that might be let go or brought aboard, but veteran acts like Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, and Miranda Lambert.

@daydrinker, Gary Overton had NOTHING to do with Garth signing at the label or his "failure anything to do with Overton either. Tyler's "a guy walks into a bar" is also a hit that will end up Gold. Tyler Farr is doing fine, Chris Young's record is complete.
