So the only song still increasing to complete with Uptown Funk is Earned It, 4FS, Trap Queen and GDFR.. If Sugar doesn't start steady fit for the next 2-5 weeks, one of those songs will (most likely) be number one... FourFiveSeconds is NOT increasing lol. It's falling in sales and airplay and isn't strong at all in streaming to begin with. I'm pretty sure the song has already peaked lol.

I don't see anything unseating "Uptown Funk" anytime soon. How long until it breaks the record.
I'd look out for wildcards "Shut Up and Dance" and "Want to Want Me" to have a sudden surge.

Yeah, in the article I think it said FourFiveSeconds is now decreasing in all three components, so it really has peaked this time! I know people have spent the past couple of months thinking it's about to peak, but it's actually happened now by the looks of things.
Strange thing is I can't imagine any of Earned It, Trap Queen or GDFR going #1. Trap Queen has by far the best iTunes performance given its airplay and promotion (or lack thereof), but I just don't think that song has broad enough appeal to make it all the way to #1. Earned It has the best chance, but could it peak before Uptown Funk has fell enough?

Editing my earlier post. I see that its lead at #1 aided by a viral video has actually increased over last week. Anything can happen.

Most of the other 14 songs that spent 12 weeks at #1 were in decline by this time. I think it is premature to say that this song will last 5 more weeks but I wouldn't rule it out either.

Anything can happen. right, but you were correct that it IS decreasing in sales and airplay (and likely would've seen a decrease in streaming too, had it not been for that treadmill video, since it decreased in On-Demand points.) its slow decline in sales and airplay, combined with viral videos, could mean trouble though...

It's not just a question of UF though. Sugar is falling on sales & streaming as well. I dont know how much longer the 50SOG songs will last. We're now over a month out from a movie that way underperformed expectations except on the soundtrack. But there's nothing to push the songs going forward either. FourFiveSeconds is starting to slide at radio, but it will be several weeks before Pitbull, Flo Rida, or whoever that guy is that does Trap Queen have anywhere close to a shot at #1.
The best shot at unseating UF in the next week or two is probably Rihanna dropping single #2 with a radio deal and a video of her 3/4s naked at the same time.

It got 2.2 million streams from the treadmill video meaning it would've gotten 16.9 million streams without it which is actually not less than what it got last week (well when rounded to the nearest 0.1 million at anyway). Therefore, it actually would not have decreased in streaming (or at least not by more than 100k streams)

I wouldn't be surprised if the next #1 was "Bills" or something

Nobody will answer my question. The Dark Lord Funk video has just a shade under 3 million views in its first 2.5 days, which could fuel Uptown Funk's streaming points. But will these streams count? (If you haven't seen the video, and you're a Harry Potter fan, you should watch it. It's hilarious, even with mediocre vocals)

But nobody can answer because Billboard counts what they want.

I don't see the connection...can someone explain to me please? See... there are these things called "divas"... But why is it specifically Madonna fans and not fans of another diva? Is there a rivalry between those two particular pop stars?

I've been streaming UF at work to do my part in finally unseating "One Sweet Day" One person can make a difference if they put their mind too it. The song had 19.1 million streams last week. Not sure how many you need to make a difference but I am sure it is possible, if you have the time and don't tire of the song too quickly. Happy streaming.

See... there are these things called "divas"... But why is it specifically Madonna fans and not fans of another diva? Is there a rivalry between those two particular pop stars? Yes, and it's almost as old as Madonna and Mariah themselves. Don't get sucked into it. Just back away slowly while you still have your wits about you. Actually let me clarify this. Some interviewer asked Madonna what she thought about music like Mariah's stuff, and Madonna said "I'd rather die" than to make music like that. The question was weirded kind of funny though and kind of set Madonna up to insult Mariah even if that isn't what Madonna intended. (lbr though it's not like Madonna would give a damn about someone's hurt feelings.) Then someone brought up Madonna's comment to Mariah in an interview with her and Mariah said she hadn't thought about Madonna "since seventh grade, back when she was still popular." (also spoken from someone who likely does not give a damn about someone's hurt feelings.) Both comments were clearly off the top of their heads, and I don't think Madonna and Mariah have thought about each other since two brief moments of shade back in 1990. Their fans hold on to it, though.

Def Jam will want to protect the record No, it was never Def Jam's record to 'protect' so they're not going to care. a) Mariah and Boyz II Men set that record when she was signed to Columbia, and BIIM were on Motown; and 2) she just moved to Epic. I'm not sure Def Jam would have cared even if she were still with them; unless it's one of their own artists closing in on it, they can't make any money off a random Billboard stat. This is going to seem silly, but it kind of irks me that there is no song that has spent 15 weeks at #1. So I'm kind of hoping UF falls just shy of tying OSD, just so we can finally have a song occupying the 15-week spot. Other than that I really don't care, in fact it's kind of exciting now to see whether or not Mark and Bruno can pull it off. Normally these long reigns at the top are boring because there's not really anything at stake.

oh, FFS (and no, not the song)...can this thread NOT turn into yet another Madge V Mimi stan nonsense battleground?
Mariah & Boyz II Men's record MIGHT be broken in 5 weeks by Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars. no other acts are a part of the equation (unless there's a surprise UF Remix on the way...)

But, isn't it only a couple streams for a single source that will actually count anyways. I thought Billboard/youtube/Vevo had a way of not counting (excessive) repeated listens.
