Pretty good and creative advertisement from AllAccess, for the song's promotion on Pop. That's where they shoulda gone to from the begining and just left the Alt chart alone Yet it went #1 on Alt... I wonder why they'd push it there?

It got 19 CHR adds - which might seem like a lot, except Taylor Swift got 178 adds, Justin Beiber got 165, and Macklemore got 134 - I think that's probably what happens when most pop stations in the country are run by IHeart, CBS, or Cumulus
I'm really happy the Alt chart isn't like that

It's too early to tell, but it seems like this might actually be a fast dropper on the Alt chart. It has a -121 bullet right now, and while it was due to Labor Day weekend, it didn't last that long at #1 after peaking. It's top 30 on CHR now, so that might be why.

I'm fine with it getting -120 bullets and just going away. For it to stick around till November, would be senseless, with all that other better music on the chart right now ,looking for a higher peak each week.

lol this might actually have a shot at regaining #1 by Sunday. The bullet is up to 139 and "Ex's and Oh's" is declining. "First" still has a shot at #1 again, but this is just a few steps behind it. "I Am" and "Could Have Been Me" are a little too far behind to challenge them, but those should be challenger by the middle of next week, barring any weird circumstances.

A new #1 would be nice though (not "First" or "Ex's and Oh's"). Although, this group is probably the next Milky Chance - as in their next single will peak low (with or without longevity), and this song will basically become their career.

Their album isn't that bad, it's just boring. This song and Jungle were the only highlights. I may have to re-listen to it again though.
And as for this song, please die. The alternative chart is so fucking congested right now, and Hallelujah missed the top 10 because of this song forcing other songs to get 3000 spins for the #1, resulting in a longer time for other songs to leave the chart and be sent recurrent.

This entire thread is what is most comical about our forum IMO. People keep saying things like "why is alt playing this?", "No one seems to like it, its success makes no sense", "Why isn't alt dropping this, no one likes it anymore", etc. What most of this board fails to realize though is that this board doesn't accurately represent the average, general, easy-to-please alt listener. We are enthusiasts who lean to very specific sub genres and due to the tenure of much of the community, people lean towards liking the last few eras more than what's new. Our tastes have been tailored to what used to be on alternative radio. Therefore, we representalmost NONE of the alt listener base, most of which really enjoys songs such as this one.

^I actually meant that many Alt stations were not dropping Renegades b/c they don't want people flipping to CHR to hear it seriously? that's a reason why stations hold onto songs? shouldn't they want to move onto the next "alternative" single since the new one is so popular on pop radio? that's fucked up.

On that note, can anyone remember the last time a format changed direction so drastically so quickly? Even in the heyday of grunge bands like New Order and The Pretenders could still score hits. And Seether went top 10 as late as 2011.

I know, right? There are still Alt stations that drop songs when pop picks them up, but the majority of them now do exactly the opposite - hold on to them so they don't lose women to CHR or Hot AC
