There's absolutely nothing strange with it, and it's pretty clear the label is promoting but not pushing the song (and that maybe it's a good idea, because some examples of labels pushing the song, Stuck on a feeling, Nobody love, didn't end well, with the song dead on radio by the times the sales were catching). These both had On The Verge deals, which would likely explain why the songs rose at the speed that they did, only to then crash. And it was a very bad idea. With new artist i think labels should try to make them happen on radio, promoting them, making radio tours, but a deal if it's not with other kind of promo that help the sales generally doesn't work (unless the song really has a massive appeal). What happens in those cases is the song climbs unnaturally on the pop chart while it's itunes position is very low, by the time the airplay and other promo make the song moves on itunes, the song generally is totally dead on pop`. Maybe it's better to wait for a kind of deal like that and see how people react to the song, there are songs that are slow growers (and even more in the case of new artist), let the song grow on a more natural way could help with the timing. #107 US iTunes now.. Could it enter the top 100 before the Fallon performance tomorrow night or will it continue to hover there?  I am hearing such good buzz for this cd. This particular song hasn't grown on me much though. The album deserves the good buzz it's getting. It's his most cohesive album to date and I personally love it. |

GT failed to make the top 40 in the UK this week, disappointing as it was on at half price last week. But tbf pretty much no radio support. |

Ugh at these updates. I hope it rebounds. updates are ok..the song actually had a good week...stronger updates earlier in the week than later, but solid weekend updates and its climbed like 100-120 places on iTunes over the past ten days..the bullet loss on pop is due to AT40...first appearance was last week, second was this week....just balancing out the bullet jump from last week....hac is hac...GT isn't really an HAC song and it was bound to slow down there sooner or later...ac isn't even a format they're targeting..a couple of stations are playing it a bit so it peeks into the top 50 every now and then and disappears...actually the chr update this morning was pretty decent for this song |

Once a song debuts at AT40 (whether as Subway Fresh buzz song, on the verge, or whatever) it will continue to be played every week on the countdown until it drops out of the top 40. Anyways, I don't expect GT to get much better updates before it does better on sales and enters Billboard Top 100, and hopefully the promo works well this week. |

Sometimes the song gets played as on the verge (or something like that) and it's not played again till it enters the chart. I don't expect better updates either, and in fact it could be quite dangerous if the song starts getting bigger updates without a rise on itunes. We all know what happened with Nobody love or Stuck on a feeling. It's better if it climbs at a decent rhythm but giving enough time to the sales to rise |
