I think the song is horrible and I've been a fan of his since he came out. I'm glad I'm not bias. That's just your personal opinion. If you don't like the song, fine. But it doesn't need to be said over and over like a broken record

So when is he touring with the album. That's what is needed to keep album sales up past the first 2 weeks.

So many people on here claim they know lots about great music or awesome songs so I'm shocked so many people like this.

WOW. it's true that you have the right to post your opinions, but can you just, idk, say it briefly? Your repetitive and redundant posts about the same thing really take the attention away from the song itself.

Reminders: - repeated, redundant expression of a negative opinion is often considered trolling. - please report posts if you think they're breaking the rules, rather than responding to them yourself.

Sorry but you are wrong, this is not a fan site so saying you don't like the song is perfectly ok, saying it again and again is trolling. You said your oppinion, people read it, and that's all. I had a bad reaction when i heard the song for the first time, and if you read the first comments, the song is polarizing. He took a risk, this is not a song to please everybody, so yes, you are right, i'm pretty sure a lot of people dislike the song, but saying it again and again it's pointless. At this point Adam needs a hit, at least a medium hit, because his last era made him dissapear from the radio. If the song is at least a decent hit there will be more songs that you could like (or not), if this flops he will probably be done on radio for this era

Does it need to make the Hot 100? If so, does it need to make a certain spot on that chart?

On radio i think it will be enough with the song not dropping like a stone to have a chance with another song (specially given the fact he has a duet with Tove Lo which is a singer who is doing really well on radio). But reaching the hot 100 and doing ok there will be good for him in the long run. The album reception could be important too, specially because this time the new label seems more interested in promoting him than the last one. The more weeks (and higher peak) it reach, the better for the following singles

I hope Rumors is released with Tove Lo because I love that song and think it could really smash.

I'm very surprised with radio airplay in the UK. When they decide you are a nobody or you are not important anymore the artist stop receiving airplay. Will Young had three successful albums, with a lot of top 10 singles, but suddenly radio pulled the plug even when he continues to sell albums. Of course the lack of airplay affected to the singles, with the exception of Jealousy which was a surprise hit, he never got close of top 10 anymore and most of his singles didn't even reach top 40 (like the last one, even when the album was number one on the albums chart). I think Adam's biggest hit in UK was Never close our eyes which was the one and only top 20 (he only has another top 40 hit, For your entertainment) and i think he was in UK when he released Never close our eyes, so probably he did a lot more promo of that single

In the UK it jumped up to iTunes #35 after an appearance on daytime TV, Loose Women. It has stayed there well, although remember it is a half price single. Sadly streaming will still push it way out of the top 40. The album hit a great midweek peak of #4, but it is currently down to iTunes 22, so touch and go it will chart top 10. A good result though. No doubt more promo would help a lot, although daytime radio aren't supporting it at all.

I don't know why they don't support Adam , I'm surprised Ghost town is doing as well as it is . They ignore great stuff , last year Boy George had two singles out , so good , but ignored by every radio apart from Radio 2 , whose listeners don't seem to down load singles but buy albums . It's possible to have a single in the top 10 and no one will play it , best example was " boomerang " by Nicole Scherzinger . Happened just recently with Jessie J , Flashlight was top 10 on I tunes and top 20 on national chart and no one was playing it until Heart finally woke up and now playing it .

This update is a bit discouraging - can't stop wondering if the bulk of the US TV promo was left a bit too late.
I very much hope I'm wrong.

The good news is the single is holding firm on sales (iTunes #61) with some promo to come, so it might reach iTunes top40 and hot100 soon. Not sure how much that will boost airplay though....
The bad news is the album has already slipped to #11 and HDD is predicting lowish 1st week sales of 35-40k (which actually in a slow week might give it a #3-#5)...and yes there is a chance Hilary Duff might be above it, gonna be a close one!

Ghost Town was great on GMA today. They added a beat to the second verse, works really well. TOH was really good too.

Adam was good on GMA today. I Love "Ghost Town" and I hope it picks up some. My mother likes him and commented that the song was catchy. I was a little surprised she said that because I don't find it immediately as catchy compared to some Pop songs.
