Are they seriously not pushing this at pop radio? Where's the adds date? Come on, people- get your s**t together. The Top 40 adds date is April 27, 2015.

Is it? I thought that was Hot AC - it's Hot AC that was in the screenshot posted. ETA: I just checked; nope, it is not currently listed on AllAccess as going for pop adds. Were you referring to this?

Considering there's an HAC adds date established already, my thought is they're hoping to start it there and cross over...which seems odd considering this is a pretty pop-friendly song, certainly more at home here than at HAC, but.

Why do they wait so long to send it out to radio after putting it out on ITunes? Are they hoping it initially sells enough to get radios attention in hopes of more play?

Kurt was it you who said something about it was apparently intended to impact from the time it was delivered (ie. April 7th)? 'Cause if that was the case, dumb plan 'cause it seems like that plan went literally nowhere. ETA: Nope, it was this I was thinking of: A source from RCA actually told me the song was being set up at radio on the 7th when it was released. Which reads to me as if it was one of those 'for immediate impact' situations, which Hilary doesn't have that kind of clout with radio to attain such instantaneous results.

I don't get their game plan of holding off radio release when it needs one ASAP! A source from RCA actually told me the song was being set up at radio on the 7th when it was released.

I'm not particularly familiar with the HOT AC format, but this doesn't seem like the type of song and Hilary doesn't seem like the type of artist to push to HOT AC first. They're wasting time.
Or if its like the two posts above mine, RCA should have known that.

I don't understand what RCA is doing. Just send this out for Pop adds already! It isn't going to do anything on Hot AC UNTIL it gains some steam on Pop first.
Like...wtf have they been on since Chasing The Sun last year?

I don't understand, did they go back on the plan of impacting on the day it released? I don't understand what RCA is doing. Just send this out for Pop adds already! It isn't going to do anything on Hot AC UNTIL it gains some steam on Pop first. Like...wtf have they been on since Chasing The Sun last year? For real. I thought they would have learned from their mistakes with CTS and AAY. They have had ample time to really think out a foolproof plan. By the way guys the source from RCA that contacted me, he's directly from her Marketing team. He also told me "Radio tour plans are completely up in the air."

I don't know what their plan was, but if they wanted it to go for immediate impact on April 7th, there's no indication I'm aware of that it ever happened. Even if the song was made available to radio stations, Hilary has never been a radio darling, so stations wouldn't just start arbitrarily playing it because it's there. That's why a more clearly defined and less immediate adds date would be beneficial for Hilary/the song, 'cause it's a clear message to stations saying 'we want you to play this'.

The language used - "was being set up" - makes me wonder if he just meant it got sent out to radio without a designated immediate impact or anything. Regardless, I agree that the rollout is weird.

Yup I agree as well. This was the exact quote... "The track is being set up at radio as we speak. Video to come shortly as well as I see you know. "

most likely they are using all the money to market Britney's come back after UF instead of anyone else.

I'm so disappointed with how this has been handled because this song is excellent.

I think they used all Hilarys budget when they flew those planes over cities in the US telling everyone when CTS was out.

It's water under the bridge now, but I still can't believe they thought 'Chasing the Sun' was the correct choice for her comeback single, after she had been out of the music scene for over 7 years. I like the song (and love the video!), but it just isn't a single. If they had dropped 'All About You' first, we probably would have the album by now.
Anyway, back on topic...I'm going to be so pissed if they allow this song to go to waste. Why did they even release it if everything is still up in the air? They should have just held off until they had a concrete plan.

Are they expecting 'Younger' to carry this even though they don't use the song in any of the promo/commercial slots? This better not be a wasted opportunity like All About You. I really really hope they line up some nice promo when they roll out the video.

She's going to be a "Special Guest" at our local "Kiss Concert" here in Boston. During the ad for the show they play a whopping 1.5 seconds of the song.

I mean, lets not kid ourselves, Hilary has never been big on radio, even when she was considered a big name coming off Lizzie Mcguire. Come Clean got to #9 on pop, but that was 11 years ago. The people who were listening to her as kids then may have kids of their own right now. They can't really expect her to drop back out of the sky and have a built in audience. Not to mention to the huge misfire with the two acoustic-y songs they tried to give her a comeback with. I really just think music isn't her thing, she doesnt seem to have her heart in it and it looks like her label feels the same way.

If music's not her thing than why even bother trying? Like you said she's not a radio darling and hasn't really been heard from musically since the underperforming "With Love". Why even do it then. It's not like she or her label will make bank from her music.
I Love this song and hope she's into it. LoL
