Another new instant grat, "50 Feet Tall":
This might be their worst song they've ever done. They seem to have gone really pop on this (though I like the previous three despite "Girl Crush" having dumb lyrics).

So the album is called Vikings but the cover is the Brooklyn Bridge?

I wanted to like "Girl Crush" but it sounds like a marriage between Cobra Starship and FOB. I like "50 Feet Tall" for the guitar licks and it's catchy as fuck. Tt could have some moderate success on ALT and it's beats that first single they had before "West End Kids"

The chorus of "50 Feet Tall" kind of kills it for me, the verses and guitar riffs are really catchy. New Politics have never had insightful lyrics so I'm not looking for them but the lyrics of this and "Girl Crush" stand out as particularly rough.
Not looking forward to the album that much, so far Everywhere I Go is my favorite song from the project, though it burned out on me. West End Kids was catchy but bland and I got sick of it after a few listens. My guess is the new album is going to be catchy on a first listen but wear thin after a second.

this band (to me) is a 1-hit wonder ... in other words, the only song of theirs I've ever liked is Harlem

Music video btw (features cameos of Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco, Travie McCoy, LoLo, and Fall Out Boy):

Anyone listen to the album yet? I just did and I wish I hadn't, especially whatever the hell the hidden track at the very end was . "Everywhere I Go" was far and away the best song on the album, and I'm not even a big fan of that one.
The whole album is so poppy and forgettable, I can't see anything else having success on radio.

Outside of this and "Everywhere I Go (Kings & Queens)", I was unimpressed with the previews. They turned very poppy, and the outcome is not good. This is the only one that used the pop sound right.

Big fan of this one now, and it's epic chorus. Download? Check.

I hate the way this song is getting shafted below the top 25, but it's still a great uplifting song.
